In daily life, combining textual and visual instructions in an interleaved manner is typical and natural to boost communication efficiency and, more importantly, aid children's cognitive learning in both language and visual realms. However, in the field of AI and robotics, there is currently a lack of developed evaluation frameworks for evaluating embodied agents that understand visual-language instructions and break instructions down into a sequence of precise plans for performing the desired tasks with the environment. To facilitate this research, we build the first, to our knowledge, a new challenging benchmark, namely Embodied Multi-modal Instruction Following (EMIF-Bench). Our EMIF-Bench has several appealing properties: 1) Interleaved manner: Both instruction and its corresponding plans consist of both textual and visual information. 2) Rich instructions: It comprises 917 visual language instructions with corresponding sequences of plans, including seven types, from Cooking to Leisure, and involving 137 objects. 3) Diverse environments. We arranged 772 environments which involve 165 object classes and 1,009 corresponding prefabs. Powered by this challenging dataset and to highlight the task challenges, we further provide a baseline model, a multi-modal task planner, to evaluate its performance within the aspect of reasoning and generalization. The dataset and evaluation results are publicly available, and we hope EMIF-Bench can serve as a benchmark platform that inspires future research in embodied agents. Sentiment Analysis is essential in the area of marketing or communication. In recent years, visual sentiment analysis that estimates how people feel when looking at an image has been widely studied along with the progress of machine learning. The main difficulty of sentiment analysis is to bridge the affective gap in translating from visual features to affective labels. SentiBank, a visual sentiment analysis framework, solved this problem and achieved high accuracy in emotion prediction by the text-based approach through the representation of adjective and noun pairs. However, there is a possibility that the texts need to reflect more sufficiently the information of an image, such as multiple objects or colors of the background. To reflect such information more directly, we propose training the visual sentiment analysis model by distilling the result of text classification that takes the pseudo text derived from patch images of object instances. The experiment shows that our method is lower than the original SentiBank in the Twitter dataset, with a more concrete image and highly accurate labels. However, our method achieved higher accuracy in the EmotionROI dataset, a more abstract dataset with comparably noisy labels than the Twitter dataset.

This research project investigates the application of deep learning in sign language translation using Automated AI. By analyzing visual data, the system recognizes signs and translates them into spoken languages or generates text descriptions. This technology holds significant promise for various fields - education, entertainment, tourism, and healthcare - and can contribute to the advancement of information technology and artificial intelligence systems.

Low-Light Image Enhancement is a computer vision task which intensifies the dark images to appropriate brightness. It can also be seen as an ill-posed problem in image restoration domain. With the success of deep neural networks, the convolutional neural networks surpass the traditional algorithm-based methods and become the mainstream in the computer vision area. To advance the performance of enhancement algorithms, we propose an image enhancement network (HWMNet) based on an improved hierarchical model: M-Net+. Specifically, we use a half wavelet attention block on M-Net+ to enrich the features from wavelet domain. Furthermore, our HWMNet has competitive performance results on two image enhancement datasets in terms of quantitative metrics and visual quality. The ability to perceive safety-critical events by virtually seeing through vehicles and other obstructions on the road can be a very useful driving assistance feature for vehicles. In this paper, we first hypothesize that such a feature can be achieved by vehicles driving ahead proactively communicate information about the visual scenery they perceive using dashboard cameras. Using such a multiple access setting, and considering brake-light light emitting diode (LED) to camera communication as the enabler, in this paper, we position an information processing pipeline for predicting the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) safety event. In particular, we present the algorithmic design of the cognitive information processing system that will continuously warn the host driver about the line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-sight road situations. We position the use-case of our proposed information processing pipeline through a case-study analysis for a real-world driving scenario.

If you read that quantum machine learning applications solve some traditional machine learning problems at an amazing speed, be sure to check if they return quantum results. Quantum outputs, such as magnitude-encoded vectors, limit the use of applications and require additional specifications on how to extract practical and useful results. In satellite images, degradation of image contrast and color quality is a common problem, which brings great difficulties for information extraction and visibility of image objects. This is due to atmospheric conditions, which can cause a loss of color and contrast in the image. Regardless of the band, image enhancement plays a vital role in presenting details more clearly. The research includes new computational algorithms that accelerate multispectral satellite imagery to improve land cover mapping and study feature extraction. The first method is a quantum Fourier transform algorithm based on quantum computing, and the second method is a parallel modified data algorithm based on parallel computing. These calculation algorithms are applied to multispectral images for improvement. The quantum-processed image is compared with the original image, and better results are obtained in terms of visual interpretation of the extracted information. Quantitatively evaluate the performance of the improved method and evaluate the applicability of the improved technology to different land types. © 2023 The authors and IOS Press.

Fast and accurate location of optical cable line faults has become the core task to ensure the stable operation of network. Based on the application research of GIS(Geographic information System) in the fault location of optical cable, this paper carried out the improvement of optical cable fault location algorithm and verified and analyzed the function of the algorithm by designing a test system. Through the analysis of real-time fault data, combined with the visual display of GIS map, the precise location of the fault point is realized, and the processing efficiency of the cable line fault is significantly improved.

In computer 3D graphics analysis technology, we can use image conversion and processing to intuitively convert text into 3D images. This paper mainly applies the methods of questionnaire and component analysis to investigate the visual communication effect of people in 3D movies. The advanced multi-modal approach is crucial in cyberbullying detection since it allows a complex examination of three elements: texts, images, and videos. It uncovers fine textures of bullying that the mono-modal system cannot find. It provides precision in detection and assurance of its effectiveness in the range and development of cyberbullying forms in communications. This research introduces an improved multi-modal framework (IMMF) that deals with text-based, visual and video content. An incorporated system uses cutting-edge technologies like vision transformers (ViTs), where a self-attention mechanism is applied comprehensively to get a clear perception of spatial hierarchies, and graph neural networks (GNNs) for video content analysis, allowing them to track dynamic behaviors in the way video sequences. For textual content, the framework builds upon recent breakthroughs in natural language processing with BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers), allowing the approach to capture discourse-level semantic cues, and subtly revealing aggression. These holistic measures, in turn, improve feature extraction in different media types and enable capturing the most complex web of harassment with increased accuracy. Furthermore, the system uses a multi-modal fusion method, combining the information gathered from various modalities, thus providing an enhanced perception of the situation and improving detection accuracy. The model develops few-shot learning (FSL) techniques that help the model adapt to new types of bullying with the help of minimal additional data to keep pace with the rising threats in new forms of bullying. The amplification of the system reached a 98% accuracy generalization and up to 7.5%, including a noticeable diminishing of the false alarms. Such results point out the necessity of smart computational models like ViTs, GNNs, and FSL for the fight against cyberbullying, which is the primary thing on the way to the successful dev
