This paper presents a study on the image processing techniques used to identify and classify fungal disease symptoms affected on different agriculture/horticulture crops. Computers have been used to mechanization, automation, and to develop decision support system for taking strategic decision on the agricultural production and protection research. The plant disease diagnosis is limited by the human visual capabilities because most of the first symptoms are microscopic. As plant health monitoring is still carried out by humans due to the visual nature of the plant monitoring task, computer vision techniques seem to be well adapted. One of the areas considered here is the processing of images of disease affected agriculture/horticulture crops. The quantity and quality of plant products gets reduced by plant diseases. The goal is to detect, to identify, and to accurately quantify the first symptoms of diseases. Plant diseases are caused by bacteria, fungi, virus, nematodes, etc., of which fungi is the main disease causing organism. Focus has been done on the early detection of fungal disease based on the symptoms. (C) 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

In this study, the goal is to conduct and develop a system that will transmit electric consumption reading using wireless technology and analyzing the data with the use of image processing. The researcher created a wireless transmission of data acquisition using Raspberry Pi which aimed to make the meter reading more convenient and faster. The process starts by capturing the image of the electric meter using Raspberry Pi cam. The software use is python a powerful multi-paradigm computer programming language, optimized for programmer productivity, code readability and software quality [1]. The picture will be saved in a local folder and then using image processing it will analyze the picture. After analyzing, the result will be sent to the database. The database used in the system is SQL (Structured Query Language) the standard programming language use to create, update, and retrieve information that is stored in the database [2]. The information stored in the database are the following, data of electric consumption, the time retrieved and account number of the consumer. For the GUI design of the software visual basic studio is use. Programming using this language has also been made easier by using visual tools provided by visual Studio [3]. Based on the result of the data gathered the study was found out to be effective regarding reading the electric consumption since it produces a rating of above 90% accuracy during functionality test.

The description of natural phenomena from different Earth Observation (EO) activity domains is represented by complex processes that involve a solid understanding of the phenomena, the syntactic and semantic description of the proposed solutions, the experimental data collection, and the analysis and interpretation of the results. Such a use case scenario is modeled as a collection of operators that are able to generate in a finite amount of time a valid output, based on a range of input data sets. The current paper aims at identifying the main EO data processing types and providing a set of basic operators that represent the core of the KEOPS (Kernel Operators) system. At the moment, several researches are conducted to find the best solution of integrating this system within the BigEarth platform, but the main idea is to use KEOPS as a plugin that can fit within any EO related platform that aims at processing spatial data. One main advantage of using the KEOPS system is the possibility of easily extending its core dataset with new operators that fulfill the needs of developing complex use case scenarios.

In this paper, we investigate the question of how the visualinformation of lip movement contributes to command-word recognition. The fusion of the acoustic and visual signal can be carried out either at the feature level or at the class level. Integration at the feature level means merging of the acoustic and visual features to yield a combined feature vector which is feed into a HMM-system. Fusion at the class level means separate classification of the two sources of information and combination of the classification results. An HMM classifier is used for the acoustic signal and three different classifiers (HMM, DTW and ClaRe) for the visual signal. The classification results are combined using C4.5. The recognition rates of both fusion schemes are comparable. Both yield small improvements at high SNR's using the acoustic/visual system in comparison to the acoustic system alone. Larger improvements (up to 12%) result at low SNR's.

As a massively parallel processor, the GPU is well-suited for performing 'per-pixel' operations in image processing and computer vision. New developments in hardware, software, and algorithm mappings now allow entire vision algorithms to be performed exclusively on GPU. In this paper we present the GPU mapping of a natural image feature processing pipeline used in an image stitching application. We examine how to utilize hardware features on the GPU for efficient processing to demonstrate how GPU programming now goes beyond per-pixel mappings, and is providing speedups in image feature processing, and matching.

This paper is about the idea proposal and design of the smart glass function as an auxiliary engineering device for low vision. Low visionary people try to see objects or surrounding situations in the field of view as much as possible by utilizing residual vision. To this end, analog assistive devices are used, but it is an inconvenient environment in which various devices have to be changed and used according to the object or situation to be viewed. The proposed auxiliary engineering technology is a smart glass system equipped with a camera module and an ultra-small display, which uses it to provide various visual assistance functions such as visual enlargement, image contrast change, and color weakness assistance to low vision. The proposed system is still in its early stages of research, and it is sought to conduct continuous research to assist the insufficient vision of many low visioners by attempting to miniaturize and lower the unit cost of equipment configuration for smooth portability.
