It has been estimated that about 15% of the global population, which represents more than one billion people are with disabilities, among them there are 250 million disabled children. In China, there are 3.87 million disabled children with over 200,000 new disabled children added to total population each year which is challenging for both those children as well as for their care providers and caregivers. Service assistive Robotics (SABs) can help families with disabled children (FWDCs) to solve barriers, difficulties and practical problems. This paper has analyzed the 426 articles of SABs for FWDCs from 1990 to 2023 by using CiteSpace visualized approach. It has analyzed that: (1) The history development of the SABs for FWDCs study can be summarized into 3 periods: the beginning period (1990–2004), the rapid developing period (2005–2015), and the diversified developing period (2016–2023). (2) The top keywords are feature and functions, mobile robot, investment game, educational game, educational settings, task analysis. (3) At present studying, the main topics and hotspots are educational sciences, demand and need, computer and manufacturing system, emotion, trust and empathy, facilities and equipment, artificial intelligence, etc,. As a conclusion, the studies of SABs for FWDCs are developing very fast in the past 33 years. The study topics in recent years becomes more detailed and diverse. But the cross-disciplinary and diversified study is still needed to be improved. This paper sincerely hopes that more efforts can be contributed to the studies of SABs for FWDCs in the coming future.

This document focuses on designing, developing and implementing an immersive scenario based on the Hojas Jaboncillo Museum in the parish of Portoviejo - Ecuador. The main objective is to create a virtual gallery using technologies to improve the user experience in immersive environments. During the research, various technologies associated with the metaverse were explored, which led to the identification of 3D modelling tools to shape virtual environments and tools to create animations and interactions between objects. The importance of hardware was highlighted to take advantage of the features of virtual reality. The study addresses the resolution of practical problems in cultural preservation and the improvement of the visitor experience, this is carried out through quantitative, applied and experimental research, using descriptive analysis of the data. Additionally, strategies were considered to incorporate non-visual elements, such as sounds, to increase realism and user immersion. These elements were applied to create a virtual gallery with realistic objects and models to improve the visitor experience. In summary, by implementing virtual reality technologies, 3D modelling and artificial intelligence, it was possible to develop a virtual environment that offers an immersive and accessible experience, regardless of the user’s location.

Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) are currently the leading causes of traffic congestion, human death, health problems, environmental pollution, and economic losses. Investigation of the characteristics and patterns of RTAs is one of the high-priority issues in traffic safety analysis. This paper presents our work on mining RTAs using association rule based methods. A case study is conducted using UK traffic accident data from 2005 to 2017. We performed Apriori algorithm on the data set and then explored the rules with high lift and high support respectively. The results show that RTAs have strong correlation with environmental characteristics, speed limit, and location. With the network visualization, we can explain in details the association rules and obtain more understandable insights into the results. The promising outcomes will undoubtedly reduce traffic accident effectively and assist traffic safety department for decision making.

The growing healthcare industry generates a large amount of data on patient health conditions, demographic plans, and drugs required for such conditions. These attract the attention of the medical professionals and the data scientists alike. In this paper, we propose a drug recommendation assistant built using machine learning techniques and natural language processing, which draws its accuracy from several major datasets. The proposed system makes it possible to manifest the contrasting effects, reviews, ratings, and then recommend the most "effective" drug for a given individual. The results of the predictive analysis were that from 2005-2015, between the ages 55 and 80, the death rates of the top deadliest diseases in the U.S. all increased drastically. Based on the current trends, with some level of accuracy, it is possible to predict the next top five medical conditions (Birth Control, Depression, Pain, Anxiety, Acne) which will be prevalent in the near future and the top five drugs for used to treat them.

In order to objectively reflect the development status and hotspots of research on consumers' online shopping willingness, this article uses the relevant literature included in CSSCI as a data source, and uses Citespace software to visually analyze research results related to consumers' online shopping willingness. The main authors and institutions, research hotspots and the frontiers of the context are discussed. It is found that the research on consumers' online shopping willingness is currently in the development stage, which mainly focuses on the hot topics such as perceived risk, perceived value, trust, and on the cutting-edge content such as online shopping willingness of fresh produce and e-commerce marketing models. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Interactive data analysis (IDA) is a core knowledge-discovery process, in which data scientists explore datasets by issuing a sequence of data analysis actions (e.g. filter, aggregation, visualization), referred to as a session. Since IDA is a challenging task, special recommendation systems were devised in previous work, aimed to assist users in choosing the next analysis action to perform at each point in the session. Such systems often record previous IDA sessions and utilize them to generate next-action recommendations. To do so, a compound, dedicated session-similarity measure is employed to find the top-k sessions most similar to the session of the current user. Clearly, the efficiency of the top-k similarity search is critical to retain interactive response times. However, optimizing this search is challenging due to the non-metric nature of the session similarity measure. To address this problem we exploit a key property of IDA, which is that the user session progresses incrementally, with the top-k similarity search performed, by the recommender system, at each step. We devise efficient top-k algorithms that harness the incremental nature of the problem to speed up the similarity search, employing a novel, effective filter-and-refine method. Our experiments demonstrate the efficiency of our solution, obtaining a running-time speedup of over 180X compared to a sequential similarity search. © 2020 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This work describes the AirQ2: Quito Air Quality Monitoring and visualization Tool, which is a web application for data visualization of meteorological and contaminant data of the Ecuadorian capital. The tool was implemented in R-shiny and allows the users to visualize hourly, daily, monthly profiles of the variables;a variety of univariate and multivariate graphs for exploratory data analysis;as well as, a spatial geolocalized representation of the contaminants. AirQ2 can support decision and policy makers to develop environmental policies and regulations;as well as, help to the general public to better understand and educate on air pollution tendencies in urban conglomerates.

In the context of urbanization and the rapid growth of energy demand, understanding the spatial and temporal dynamics of urban energy use is crucial for identifying energy-saving potentials. In this demo, we present a visual analysis tool, VAP, that allows users to explore the dynamics of urban energy use at different spatial and temporal scales. In contrast to traditional statistical and machine learning methods, the visual analysis based tool focuses on analytical thinking, user interactions and answering business questions by examining different visual analysis views. In the demonstration, conference attendees will interact with VAP and learn its capabilities in discovering typical consumption patterns and spatio-temporal shift patterns from a real-world case study of electricity. © 2020 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Nowadays, in a highly-globalized world, the understanding of causes and consequences involved in the migration phenomena, and also the prediction of migration flows are important for development of national public policies and for urban resource planning. The high complexity of human im/emigration movements can not only be explained by economic causes but rather by the interaction among multiple additional factors (demographic, social, linguistic, among others). The application of Machine Learning techniques and data visualization models on high volumes of raw data from countries can provide good insight to understand how indicators from countries are related to migration causes, and also to make visible the migration flows between the sending and receiving countries. This paper describes a tool which includes supervised classification and visualization methods to analyze country indicators and aim to discover the connections among these attributes and the migration movements.

People living in urban areas suffer from increasing noise pollution. Local and national governments invest efforts in the development of sensor-based noise monitoring systems and long-term plans to reduce noise pollution. However, deploying such sensor-based systems on a city scale is very expensive. In this work, Jingle Jungle Maps, a tool for the visualization and localization of sounds in urban spaces is proposed. By means of social media data gathered from Flickr, the researchers attempt to perform a text-based analysis on each post to identify noise sources and localize them on a map. An approximation of the emotions these sounds might evoke and their perceived level of loudness are also estimated with fuzzy logic and computing with words methods. A prototype showing the results of this analysis on ten thousand posts from the city of Bern, Switzerland, is presented in this article. Furthermore, an evaluation on five hundred posts showed acceptable precision levels for the estimation of sound sources.
