Disasters affecting infrastructure, such as the 2001 earthquakes in India, 2005 in Pakistan, 2008 in China and the 2004 tsunami in Asia, provide a common need for intelligent buildings and smart civil structures. Now, imagine massive reductions in time to get the infrastructure working again, realtime information on damage to buildings, massive reductions in cost and time to certify that structures are undamaged and can still be operated, reductions in the number of structures to be rebuilt (if they are known not to be damaged). Achieving these ideas would lead to huge, quantifiable, long‐term savings to government and industry. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) can be deployed in buildings to make any civil structure both smart and intelligent. WSNs have recently gained much attention in both public and research communities because they are expected to bring a new paradigm to the interaction between humans, environment, and machines. This paper presents the deployment of WSN nodes in the Top Quality Centralized Instrumentation Centre (TQCIC). We created an ad hoc networking application to collect real‐time data sensed from the nodes that were randomly distributed throughout the building. If the sensors are relocated, then the application automatically reconfigures itself in the light of the new routing topology. WSNs are event‐based systems that rely on the collective effort of several micro‐sensor nodes, which are continuously observing a physical phenomenon. WSN applications require spatially dense sensor deployment in order to achieve satisfactory coverage. The degree of spatial correlation increases with the decreasing inter‐node separation. Energy consumption is reduced dramatically by having only those sensor nodes with unique readings transmit their data. We report on an algorithm based on a spatial correlation technique that assures high QoS (in terms of SNR) of the network as well as proper utilization of energy, by suppressing redundant data transmission. This document focuses on designing, developing and implementing an immersive scenario based on the Hojas Jaboncillo Museum in the parish of Portoviejo - Ecuador. The main objective is to create a virtual gallery using technologies to improve the user experience in immersive environments. During the research, various technologies associated with the metaverse were explored, which led to the identification of 3D modelling tools to shape virtual environments and tools to create animations and interactions between objects. The importance of hardware was highlighted to take advantage of the features of virtual reality. The study addresses the resolution of practical problems in cultural preservation and the improvement of the visitor experience, this is carried out through quantitative, applied and experimental research, using descriptive analysis of the data. Additionally, strategies were considered to incorporate non-visual elements, such as sounds, to increase realism and user immersion. These elements were applied to create a virtual gallery with realistic objects and models to improve the visitor experience. In summary, by implementing virtual reality technologies, 3D modelling and artificial intelligence, it was possible to develop a virtual environment that offers an immersive and accessible experience, regardless of the user’s location.

Interactive dynamic graphical techniques for the exploration of functional data

Introduction. The use of interactive dynamic graphics has become a common practice for the exploration of multidimensional data sets. The availability of powerful and inexpensive hardware and software for graphical computing makes the use of such techniques feasible for the examination of complex forms of data. This paper describes some simple techniques, which were implemented in the LISP-STAT environment, for the visualization of functional data arising from studies of optical technologies used for the detection of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or squamous intraepithelial lesions. Materials and methods. The methods demonstrated have been implemented in software coded in LISP-STAT, a free statistical computing package available for most computer systems. The data used in this paper are drawn from a previous study in which fluorescence spectroscopy was measured from cervical sites at 337 nm, 380 nm, and 460 nm excitation in cervical screening patients. The goal of the project is to explore biographical variables to better understand the biology of fluorescence. Results. 199 measurements were taken in 55 women with normal Pap smears. The data are recorded as spectra showing the intensity of emission excitation versus emission in nanometers. Covariate variables available for analysis are current smoker vs. nonsmoker premenopausal vs. postmenopausal, tissue type (columnar, squamous, and transition zone), and age in years. Although the optical measurements show consistent changes between normal and abnormal tissue in individual patients, there is wide variation in the intensity of the measurements between patients, even for normal tissue. Patient age affects the fluorescent spectrum showing increasing intensity with increasing age. Menopausal status affects the fluorescent spectra coincidentally with age. Sustainable development is largely seen as pertaining primarily to environmental issues and grassroots social development. This stereotype misses the reality that sustainable development and the information society are operationally interconnected. The two phases of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva (December 2003) and Tunis (November 2005) provide an excellent opportunity to integrate sustainable development principles and practices into the institutions and policy frameworks that are shaping the information society. While the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and WSIS Phase I brought these issues to international attention, Southern voices and visions are still notably lacking from the debate. As we move into the age of information it is critically important for us to consider the implications of ICT in Sustainable Development and vice-versa. This research undertaking looks at precisely this intersection with its primary focus on sustainable communities. Sustainable Communities development is an evolving discourse. The locally-owned or adapted knowledge of a community is essential for integrated sustainable development, and is becoming a key priority for development practitioners. The popularity of the concept of communities is growing, and so are ideas on how to support these communities with technologies and how these communities might use ICTs to support themselves. These issues are pertinent in assessing the real contribution of ICTs to sustainable development, and therefore merit a closer examination. The paper presents the findings from the study of 9 communities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The aim of the study was to explore how ICTs may contribute to the social sustainability of communities in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. The study grounds the understanding of ICT usage among indigenous communities and consumers in the reality of their everyday lives, in order to promote actions for sustainability.

This paper proposes a user credit assessment model based on swarm intelligence aiming to solve the problem that users illegally spread pirated and pornographic media contents within the user self-service oriented broadband network new media platforms. Its idea is to do the new media user credit assessment by establishing indices system based on user credit behaviors, and the illegal users could be found according to the credit assessment results, thus to curb the bad videos and audios transmitted on the *** user credit assessment model based on swarm intelligence proposed by this paper which integrates the advantages that swarm intelligence clustering is suitable for user credit behavior analysis and K-means clustering could eliminate the scattered users existed in the result of swarm intelligence clustering, thus to realize all the users' credit classification automatically. The results of model's verification experiments based on standard credit application data set of UCI machine learning repository show that this model has good credit classification ability and its visualization features facilitate to observe and locate illegal users, and compared with the results of Logistic regression under the same conditions, this model is robustness and has better prediction accuracy.

An online transaction system was developed to meet needs of online exhibition and electronic trading platform construction for rural farm produce markets through applying the software tools *** 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Function module structure of farm produce online transaction system was designed, system data flow chart and data entity attributes were described, typical system interfaces were given, and corresponding business process was summarized, based on the current state analysis of rural farm produce markets. Practices showed that this platform system with functions such as information release and online transactions, had improved the business efficiency and informatization construction level of farm produce trading. Designment and realization of online transaction system provided a solution for informatization construction of rural farm produce markets, and this system makes characteristic agriculture products more convenient and efficient to be exchanged.

The distributed annotation system (DAS) defines a communication protocol used to exchange biological annotations. It is motivated by the idea that annotations should not be provided by single centralized databases but instead be spread over multiple sites. data distribution, performed by DAS servers, is separated from visualization, which is carried out by DAS clients. The original DAS protocol was designed to serve annotation of genomic sequences. We have extended the protocol to be applicable to macromolecular structures. Here we present SPICE, a new DAS client that can be used to visualize protein sequence and structure annotations. Availability: http://***/software/dasclients/spice/.

In order to objectively reflect the development status and hotspots of research on consumers' online shopping willingness, this article uses the relevant literature included in CSSCI as a data source, and uses Citespace software to visually analyze research results related to consumers' online shopping willingness. The main authors and institutions, research hotspots and the frontiers of the context are discussed. It is found that the research on consumers' online shopping willingness is currently in the development stage, which mainly focuses on the hot topics such as perceived risk, perceived value, trust, and on the cutting-edge content such as online shopping willingness of fresh produce and e-commerce marketing models.

A particularly demanding and important challenge that we face as we attempt to construct the distributed computing machinery required to support SciDAC goals is the efficient, high-performance, reliable, secure, and policy-aware management of large-scale data movement. This problem is fundamental to diverse application domains including experimental physics (high energy physics, nuclear physics, light sources), simulation science (climate, computational chemistry, fusion, astrophysics), and large-scale collaboration. In each case, highly distributed user communities require high-speed access to valuable data, whether for visualization or analysis. The quantities of data involved (terabytes to petabytes), the scale of the demand (hundreds or thousands of users, data-intensive analyses, real-time constraints), and the complexity of the infrastructure that must be managed (networks, tertiary storage systems, network caches, computers, visualization systems) make the problem extremely challenging. data management tools developed under the auspices of the SciDAC data Grid Middleware project have become the de facto standard for data management in projects worldwide. Day in and day out, these tools provide the 'plumbing' that allows scientists to do more science on an unprecedented scale in production environments.
