In this turbulent business environment of global recession, traditional organizational structure is reaching its limits. In order to accommodate itself to these changes, managing informal communication beyond old framework is indispensable. It is critical for innovation management to recognize communities of practice and informal leaders. In previous studies we have demonstrated our method was effective to indentify informal communities and potential leaders from one month email log data collected in September 2008 within an organization through a case study of a global manufacturing company. In this paper we collect the second set of one-month email log in June 2009 so as to chronologically compare with the first set of data collected in September 2008 and to analyze changes before and after major organizational changes triggered by the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers. Email network analysis helps management systematically view its organization as a whole.

Regional economic disparities have been a hot topic in recent academic world. This paper explores the feasibility of coefficient of variance (CV) and exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) in investigating the spatial dynamics of regional disparities at county level in Jiangsu by analyzing per capita GDP data from 1999 to 2008. Empirical results show that the overall spatial disparities of regional economy in Jiangsu have been increasing throughout the study period. The polarization effect of Jiangsu is beyond its spread effect, which indicates the spatial ramifications of the whole regional economy into two different clubs through the process of cumulative causation.

Researched and developed the software system of Information Management and Decision Support System of the hidden danger troubleshooting of Coal *** using the technology of collaborative software to realize fast circulation of information,dynamic tracking,rapid feedback,and closed-loop management of transaction processing for the hidden danger,and by applying the technology of data mining,visualization and other technology to realize the real-time monitoring,statistical analysis,comprehensive inquiry of hidden danger information,and performance appraisal of every department of coal ***,the system is useful of overcoming the hidden danger of consciousness,and provide decision support for coal mine safety,early warning in emergency,as well as data analysis for emergency *** application proves that using this system is able to promote troubleshooting of everyday and emergency management in coal mine production.

Urban DEM(Digital elevation model) is widely used in many aspects of socialization applications,such as spatial analysis of GIS,urban planning management,visualization analysis of urban landscape,analysis of terrain visibility etc.,for it can properly express the 3-dimentsional structures of modern ***,a robust,simple and accurate method for Urban DEM generation is *** analysis has an important role in many fields of scientific research and practical applications;and much work has done in the 2-dimensional topographic *** it hasn't done much in 3-dimensional GIS analysis *** aim of this paper is twofold:how to build up the Urban DEM and how to implement the 3D visibility analysis based on Urban *** this paper we convert 1:500 scale CAD form terrain data to vector graphics,and then fusion with DEM to produce 5m resolution Urban DEM,which represents the older section of *** experiments results suggest the feasibility and validity of the 3D visibility analysis based on Urban DEM.

Objective: Ascertain relations between brain responses elicited by stimuli of different modalities (visual and audiological). The stimuli used were based on some of the basic elements and concepts of the visual syntax, regarding to the Gestalt theory, and an audiological grammar based on the clinical protocols. Methods: We used Event-Related Potentials for assessing the brain's electrical response to visual and auditory stimuli. Materials: Biopac Systems Mp 150 - data acquisition unit “***”; universal interface module “UIM100C”; stimulator module “STM100C”, two electroencephalogram amplifier modules “EEG100C”; Ag-AgCL lead electrodes - AcqKnowledge 3.9.0 (software); SuperLab 4.0 (software) and MatlabR2008B. Results: Interim results presented in form of waveforms representing the average and standard deviation of all signals acquired for each type of stimulus. Conclusions: We can visually conclude that different modalities elicit different waveforms and certain stimuli have a more defined response than others.

visualization study on the growth of virtual plant roots is of great significance to enhance the overall level of research on virtual plant *** this study,with the tobacco root as the object,its growth was divided by systematic analysis into three stages:root emergence,root growth,and root *** the quantitative analysis of the morphological data of the tobacco root and in combination with results of previous studies,the tobacco root growth,branching and other models were established,and parameter values of the models were *** this basis,computer graphics technology was applied to establish a virtual visualization system for tobacco root growth that should be capable of simulating root growth and computing indicators of roots including the number,length,density,*** indicated that this system can do a better job of simulating the morphological features for the tobacco root and virtually displaying the process of tobacco root growth in a more realistic way.

The gradient of a velocity vector field is an asymmetric tensor field which can provide critical insight that is difficult to infer from traditional trajectory-based vector field visualization techniques. We describe the structures in the eigenvalue and eigenvector fields of the gradient tensor and how these structures can be used to infer the behaviors of the velocity field that can represent either a 2D compressible flow or the projection of a 3D compressible or incompressible flow onto a 2D manifold. To illustrate the structures in asymmetric tensor fields, we introduce the notions of eigenvalue manifold and eigenvector manifold. These concepts afford a number of theoretical results that clarify the connections between symmetric and antisymmetric components in tensor fields. In addition, these manifolds naturally lead to partitions of tensor fields, which we use to design effective visualization strategies. Moreover, we extend eigenvectors continuously into the complex domains which we refer to as pseudoeigenvectors. We make use of evenly spaced tensor lines following pseudoeigenvectors to illustrate the local linearization of tensors everywhere inside complex domains simultaneously. Both eigenvalue manifold and eigenvector manifold are supported by a tensor reparameterization with physical meaning. This allows us to relate our tensor analysis to physical quantities such as rotation, angular deformation, and dilation, which provide a physical interpretation of our tensor-driven vector field analysis in the context of fluid mechanics. To demonstrate the utility of our approach, we have applied our visualization techniques and interpretation to the study of the Sullivan Vortex as well as computational fluid dynamics simulation data.

3D visualization is the process of displaying spatial data to simulate and model a real three dimensional space. Using 3D visualization, Geomatic professionals are enabling pipeline engineers to make better decisions by providing an increased understanding of potential costs earlier in the design process. This paper will focus on the value of visualizing Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data through the use of hillshades and imagery-draped 3D models. From free online DEM data to high resolution Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) derived DEM data, the increased availability allows for a broader use of 3D visualization techniques beyond 3D analysis. Of the numerous Sources available, two DEM sources will be discussed in this paper, the free low resolution DEM (CDED Level 1) and the more costly but higher resolution LiDAR based DEM. Traditional methods of evaluating potential locations for route and facilities involved a significant cost for ground truthing. Through the use of 3D visualization products, Multiple potential locations can be examined for suitability without the expense of field visits for every candidate site. By focusing on the selected candidate locations using a visual desktop study, the time and expense of ground truthing all of the potential sites can be reduced significantly. Exploiting the Visual value of DEM permits a productive and cost efficient methodology for initial route and facility placement oil hydrocarbon projects.

Distribution automation system supervises and manages all the loads, equipments and faults in the area of distribution. Due to a vast area, too many equipments and complex circumstance, the traditional display method can't satisfy the demand of modern distribution automation system. In the traditional distribution automation system we often use one-line diagram, geography diagram, curve drawing and bar chart to display the state of distribution automation system. they're too simple to display the complex and large scale diagrams. It need to be introduced into new techniques to supervise, control and display the running state of distribution automation system. The visualization technique is a new project practical technique which appears along with the computer graphics development in 1990s. It transforms each kind of complex project data as the direct-viewing graph. It's advantageous to people to have a thorough grasp and a correct understanding of the facts. This paper introduces the graph visualization technique, discusses the application of visualization technique in the distribution automation system. In order to analyze data, dig up the connections between data and select suitable method to display, the paper provides a new thinking. The paper introduces all kinds of method of visualization graph, such as: 2D, 3D graph, contour line, gradual change area coloring, pie chart, arrowhead, direction, speed, varying size and so on. It describes the method to realize these techniques. The new techniques include: three-dimensional graph technique based on openGL, cartoon technique, the algorithm of contouring, the algorithm of area drawing. The research indicates that it is inefficient to simply display the system data that isn't processed. The visualized vivid graph may express the information which need many data to indicate.
