We have developed the detailed spatio-temporal urban dataset in broad urban area. This dataset have been developed to integrate multi-year digital house maps and yellow page data using GIS system and developed programs in this research. The developed dataset can cover South Kanto region for the period from 1995 to 2005 every five years. South Kanto region is the geopolitically important area of Japan including Tokyo metropolitan area. Using this dataset, not only tenant name, business category, and detailed location including three-dimensional information but also time-series variation of almost all shops and offices can be monitored. Time-series variation means continuation, change, emergence and demise of tenants between two years.

Embedding images into a low dimensional space has a wide range of applications: visualization, clustering, and pre-processing for supervised learning. Traditional dimension reduction algorithms assume that the examples densely populate the manifold. Image databases tend to break this assumption, having isolated islands of similar images instead. In this work, we propose a novel approach that embeds images into a low dimensional Euclidean space, while preserving local image similarities based on their scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) vectors. We make no neighborhood assumptions in our embedding. Our algorithm can also embed the images in a discrete grid, useful for many visualization tasks. We demonstrate the algorithm on images with known categories and compare our accuracy favorably to those of competing algorithms.

This project deals with the problems of utilization of mobile equipment working in the biomedicine field, particularly telemedicine. This field is relatively new; it focuses on the observation of life functions from a distance. Practically developing system works with an ECG sensor connected to mobile equipment, such as PDA/Embedded device, based on Microsoft Windows CE class operating system. The whole system is based on the architecture of .NET Compact Framework, and other products, such as SQL Server by Microsoft too. This work also deals with the communication of mobile equipment with sensors and with the server via Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPRS/EDGE. The mobile equipments are used primarily for measuring and processing of data from the sensors and their visualization as a graph. The data is also given to the server for further processing and the analysis of current health of the patients, due to small efficiency of the mobile equipment. The main task we deal with in the server part of application is receiving of the data via Web services and further processing, management and analysis of this data. For the analysis of received data and further evaluation of the electrocardiogram, there is a self-organizing neural network [1].

Applied materials rapid thermal processing (RTP) systems are unique in providing high resolution process data particularly wafer rotation angle and wafer rotation speed as a function of time. This work explores how this information can be used to predict on-wafer process results using an advanced analysis package known as WISR (wafer interdiction and scrap reduction). WISR is an advanced process control platform for the collection, storage, visualization, and analysis of process parameters from production tools. One of the main analysis features of WISR is the ability to create virtual sensors. Virtual sensors are calculated parameters derived from physical sensors that can provide real-time and statistical representation of process health. The focus of this paper is the ability of WISR to transform time series chamber parameters from the pyrometers and the magnetic levitation controller into thermal wafer images at any time during the recipe execution and provide wafer-to-wafer handoff correction. These abilities constitute a virtual sensor module in WISR known as Virtual metrology (VM). We describe the implementation of the VM-analysis and show how temperature maps and handoff corrections correlate with offline metrology in RTP critical anneals. This is an innovative new method to significantly reduce wafer processing errors, enhance yield, and minimize production cost.

This paper discusses the manner in which cinema buildings of the 20 th century represent both an important physical record of society, and a challenge in terms of representing a complex range of historical, cultural, economic and physical data *** paper provides an overview of visualisation techniques which are appropriate to the subject, and provides a case study taken from the city of Aberdeen. A conclusion is that emerging technologies will facilitate the rapid collection of highly accurate information pertaining to the still intact physical structure, where still in place, but that such data must be related directly to wider contextual data in order that informed plans can be formulated for future developments, including conservation strategies.

In program execution visualization, we wish to show where the action is unfolding when some high level use-case is played on the system. However, an important problem is to deal with the volume of data to display. One solution is to represent the architecture of the software in some familiar form. Then we proposed to represent it as a modern city, with buildings and districts, in a 3D space. In this paper we present the way the program execution is represented in such a space and we show how the understanding of this execution is facilitated. Since the display of the full execution trace is impossible because of its sheer size, we developed a trace segmentation technique. Then an information filter, called class omnipresence, is applied to further reduce the information to display. Finally, the resulting sequence of segments can be "played" on the screen, like in a movie.

Lattices play an important role in many areas of computer science and applied mathematics. The information, extracted from data in data analysis or operated with in intelligent systems, is usually represented by hierarchical structures, where relationships are described by lattices. To visualize the information, one needs to visualize lattices. We mention the existing methods of automated drawing of lattices and focus on the geometric method introduced by Wille et al. Diagrams drawn by the geometric method achieve a good level of readability and aesthetic criteria while satisfying common conventions and constraints, even for larger lattices. We discuss several questions regarding the method and show the diagram drawings produced by two software programs developed at Dept. Computer Science, Palacky University, Czech Republic.

This paper describes a novel speech visualization method that creates a readable pattern based on locally linear embedding (LLE). LLE is an unsupervised learning algorithm for feature extraction. If the speech variability is described by a small number of continuous features, then we can imagine the data as lying on a low dimensional manifold in the high dimensional space of speech waveforms. The goal of feature extraction is to reduce the dimensionality of the speech signal while preserving the informative signatures. Firstly, speech signal undergoes a series of preprocessing course. Secondly, we make use of LLE decreasing the dimension of speech feature vector. Finally, we utilize plot display algorithm to generate a speech plot. The algorithm consists of three parts: coordinates partition, area computation and coordinates calculation of speech feature value. The speech feature after dimension decreasing by LLE is displayed on the CRT by plot patterns and the deaf can utilize their own brain to identify different speech for training their oral ability effectively.
