In view of actual conditions that AutoCAD is widely used in coal mines in China, the concrete method based on CASS software is intruduced, which can realize the visual prediction and analysis of mining subsidence. Because CASS software has been developed based on AutoCAD, when the digital mining map of CAD format is used, the switchover of data format is not required, and the input, output and edit of the digital mining map is very convenient. The displacement and distortion information of mining subsidence forecast can be represented in the digital mining map by means of the visual graph, which can easily analyze and evaluate mining subsidence. Using the visual method, the efficiency and accuracy of technical decision can be enhanced, and it has practical significance for the mine planning and design and the prevention and control of mining subsidence.

This paper the optimum wing planform for flapping motion is investigated by measuring the lift and drag characteristics. A model is designed with a fixed wing and two flapping wings attached to its trailing edge. Using wind tunnel tests are conducted to study the effect of angle of attack (smoke flow visualization technique). The test comprises of measuring the aerodynamic forces with flapping motion and without it for various flapping frequencies and results are presented. It can be possible to produce a micro air vehicle which is capable of stealthy operations for defence requirements by using these experimental data.

Monitoring of computer network events is essential in uncertain and time varying situations. Several techniques and tools have been developed to reveal useful patterns from raw network data sets. Challenges for network monitoring include processing massive data, spotting unknown patterns, and interactive analysis for deeper reasoning. Generally, computers in intranets are categorized into crucial nodes or not depending on their roles. We address the issue of network events monitoring by focusing on crucial network nodes, and we present visualization approaches for crucial nodes monitoring and analysis. Contributions of this paper include an efficient categorization and exchange mechanism for multiple streaming data, a comprehensive interactive visualization system with coordinated views, and an intuitive radial visualization which fuses firewall data and IDS data inherently for crucial node monitoring. In our study using the IEEE VAST Challenge 2011dataset, we found two kinds of anomalies.

Propagation of uncertainty is a key factor in uncertainty evaluation. We propose a method using datavisualization and numerical analysis for evaluating propagation of uncertainty. In this paper, the main stages of the method are described. Then, the implementation of the method in linear and nonlinear model is illustrated through some examples. These examples show appropriate use of datavisualization and numerical analysis can be helpful to provide a concise qualitative overview and accurate quantitative analysis for the uncertainty.
