Applied with software metrics, compiler optimization and visualizationtechniques, AnalyseC has been designed to automatically assess programming assignments written in C language at structural and semantic level. The Radial Coordinate visualization (Radviz) technique has been widely used to effectively evaluate the existence of patterns in highly dimensional data sets. A crucial aspect of this technique lies in the arrangement of the dimensions, which determines the quality of the posterior visualization. Dimension arrangement (DA) has been shown to be an NP-problem and different heuristics have been proposed to solve it using optimizationtechniques. However, very little work has focused on understanding the relation between the arrangement of the dimensions and the quality of the visualization. In this paper we first present two variations of the DA problem: (1) a Radviz independent approach and (2) a Radviz dependent approach. We then describe the use of the Davies-Bouldin index to automatically evaluate the quality of a visualization i.e., its visual usefulness. Our empirical evaluation is extensive and uses both real and synthetic data sets in order to evaluate our proposed methods and to fully understand the impact that parameters such as number of samples, dimensions, or cluster separability have in the relation between the optimization algorithm and the visualization tool.

Recent research revealed that embedding a node-link diagram in a flat torus avoids edge crossings, improves aesthetic metrics, and has advantages in tasks such as path tracking and understanding network structures. However, the effectiveness of torus layouts using graphs and the influence of the cell size, the size of the torus space used during torus layouts on the drawing results have not been investigated. In this study, we clarified that the optimal cell size that minimizes the stress of drawing results differs depending on the graph through computational experiments using benchmark graph data. Moreover, we uncovered that in graphs with enabled torus layouts, the stress function depending on the cell size, is close to an unimodal function. We focused on this unimodal property and proposed an algorithm to determine whether a torus is valid from the drawing results and the optimal cell size using the golden-section search. Reportedly, the aesthetic metrics of graphs with optimal cell sizes outperformed empirically used cell sizes through computational experiments.

Automatic processing of the data in order to determine the status of work and identification of the activity and brain-wave frequencies becomes necessary for the modern systems in the in the diagnosis of biofeedback among athletes. Electroencephalography frequency of brain waves are registered with use of several or even a dozen sensors mounted on a machine with a BTS-Stal Sys-Italy device. However, the sensors can register "noise" values, and therefore we present a different approach based on known techniques of computer science and statistics which allowed us to increase the sensitivity by improving detection performance. Statistic methods allowed an identification of data anomalies, such as extreme, outliers and missing values. Combining information with soft computing tool can distinct the level of electrical activity of the analyzed brain-wave frequencies. visualization analytics and regression method are impressive solution for maintaining high measurement accuracy indicates the effectiveness of this method in optimization of psychophysiological processes among athletes.
