This work proposes a strategy for browsing interactively sequences of high resolution JPEG 2000 remote images. These sequences can be displayed in any order (forward and backward) and following any play/timing pattern. In order to increase the quality of the reconstructions where the retrieved images are only known at the moment of the visualization, this work has proposed and evaluated a novel technique based on conditional replenishment. This solution profits from the SNR/Spatial scalability of JPEG 2000 to determine which regions of the next image should be transmitted and what regions should be reused from the previously reconstructed image. Experimental results demonstrate that, even without motion compensation and with a transmission exclusively controlled by the client, the reconstructions are consistently better, both visually and from a rate-distortion point of view, than those that only remove the spatial redundancy (such as Motion JPEG 2000). Other advantages of our approach are that no data overhead is generated, the computational complexity is very small compared to similar techniques, and the fact that it can be used with any JPIP server.

Computed Tomography as well as Magnetic Resonance or Positron Electron Tomography are currently the most commonly used medical imaging modalities for the analysis of human body complex structures and organs, where diseases must be recognized and identified. The image reconstruction process used in these tomography techniques is usually based on the Radon Transform (RT). In this paper, an algorithm including correction of noise and of some instrumental artifacts directly from the RT sinograms is presented. The innovative contribution of our algorithm is based on the fact that it is not necessary a priori information on instrumental artifacts or noise sources. In addition, the algorithm can be applied to any RT-based medical imaging technologies.

Singular value Decomposition (SvD) deals with the decomposition of general matrices which has proven to be useful for numerous applications in science and engineering disciplines. In this paper the method of SvD has been applied to mid-level digital imageprocessing. SvD transforms a given matrix into three different matrices, which in other words, means refactoring the digital image into three matrices. Refactoring is achieved by using singular values, and the image is represented with a smaller set of values. The primary aim is to achieve image compression by using less storage space in the memory and simultaneously preserving the useful features of original image. The experiments with different singular values are performed and the performance evaluation parameters for image compression viz. Compression Ratio, Mean Square Error, PSNR and Compressed Bytes are calculated for each SvD coefficient. The implementation tool for the tests and experiments is MATLAB.

High-quality depth data is needed in many advanced computer vision as well as 3D and virtual reality applications. To surpass the hardware limitations, computational approaches are commonly exploited, and the solutions are from the intersection of two fundamental problems, depth map superresolution and inpainting, leading to a general problem of reconstructing depth data from a subset of samples. Extending our previous work [1], we propose a spatio-temporal depth reconstruction (STDR) algorithm, which is scalable to temporal volume. We also present an updated parameter tuning approach and a speed-up scheme for depth video reconstruction application. Experimental results show that the proposed STDR algorithm outperforms the existing methods and is robust to varying temporal volumes.

World is emerging with trade practices in the global scenario. Trademarks today play a very critical and important role. Trademark registration and its evaluation for distinctiveness is becoming very tedious job for registration offices. Millions of trademarks had already registered and millions of applications are filed for trademarks registration. There are different techniques and approaches currently in use for distinctness check for trademarks. The proposed method is used for retrieval of trademarks and it uses the maxima of curvature zero crossing contours of Curvature Scale Space image (CSS) as a feature vector to represent the shapes of object boundary contours. The matching algorithm, which compares two sets of maxima and assigns matching value as a measure of similarity. The major advantage with CSS technique is that CSS representation of the image is robust with respect to noise, scale, and orientation changes of the image. Each retrieval takes a reasonable amount of computation time. The top most retrieved images by the system agree with that obtained by human perception.

It is concluded that fusion with higher level of pyramid provides better fusion quality. This technique can be used for fusion of fuzzy images as well as multi model image fusion. Compressed Sensing (CS) is a new signal acquisition technique that allows sampling of sparse signals using significantly fewer measurements than previously thought possible. In this paper, we propose an efficient image fusion method for compressed sensing imaging. First, we calculate the two-dimensional discrete cosine transform of multiple input images, these achieved measurements are multiplied with sampling filter, so compressed images are resulted, we take inverse discrete cosine transform of these results and convert them to vectors. Now, fusion is performed on the wavelet approximation and detail coefficients of vectors separately. The fused vector receives from these fused coefficients. Finally, the fused vector arranges to the fused image. Simulation results show that our method provides promising fusion performance with a low computational complexity.

An Inspection is a study of methods and techniques that can be suitably employed in practical applications. In this paper, a new activity is proposed and analysis framework to facilitate the inspection of a cylindrical object using coordinate conversion technique along with pattern matching which is again verified by machine vision technique in which maximum efficiency can be achieved. By using LABvIEW software and vision builder software the quality of an object in terms of linearity can be investigated by using different imageprocessing techniques such as image compression, image restoration etc. along with the various imageprocessing functions like special filters and classifiers to compute the optimum results. Using smart camera in the inspection system the static as well as the dynamic object is captured in fraction of seconds without any blurs;as a result the optimum image quality without any distortion is obtained for better analysis. The proposed system is very precise, accurate and flexible with reasonable development cost compared to other model. With the aid of an Industrial robotic system with simulation software the object is replaced immediately when the same is rejected by the machine vision model. Apart from this, the proposed model can be implemented for any type of manufacturing unit.

In this paper, we investigate the performance of multiple-input multiple-output aided coded interleave division multiple access (IDMA) system for secured medical image transmission through wireless communication. We realize the MIMO profile using four transmit antennas at the base station and three receive antennas at the mobile station. We achieve bandwidth efficiency using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Further we implement Arnold's Cat Map (ACM) encryption algorithm for secured medical transmission. We consider celulas as medical image which is used to differentiate between normal cell and carcinogenic cell. In order to accommodate more users' image, we consider IDMA as accessing scheme. At the mobile station (MS), we employ non-linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection algorithm to alleviate the effects of unwanted multiple users image information and multi-stream interference (MSI) in the context of downlink transmission. In particular, we investigate the effects of three types of delay-spread distributions pertaining to Stanford university interim (SUI) channel models for encrypted image transmission of MIMO-IDMA system. From our computer simulation, we reveal that DWT based coded MIMO- IDMA system with ACM provides superior picture quality in the context of DL communication while offering higher spectral efficiency and security.
