In this study, we aimed to determine whether the medical image belongs to that class or not, using the textural features of medical images. The study was performed on the images in IRMA (image Retrieval in Medical applications), the international database. After performing pre process on the our current medical images, discrete wavelet transform (DWT) was applied and then discrete cosine transform (DCT) was applied to each band components. After feature extraction, using of 1%, 3%, 5% and 7% of the obtained data were classified. K-Nearest neighbor algorithm (KNN) was used in the classification phase. The classificaiton performance was around 87%.

applications of image compression is important in terms of time and resource management considering factors such as require more time to send according to the size of image over the network and large amount of space is high dimensional data for storing images. In this study, a new approach can be using at image compression process will be introduced. Firstly, image subjected to discrete wavelet transform for extracting feature. Then multi-level threshold values will be find with Shanon entropy in the obtained image. The maximum value of objective function will be obtained with the help of cricket algorithm at the threshold values finding step. This algorithm is a meta-heuristic algorithm that based on population. The threshold values that obtained through algorithm using to compressing the images will be provided. At the end of the study, the image compression ratio, the proposed approach running on a standard test image will be given.

Recently, a logarithmic image processing model called Symmetric Logarithmic image processing (S-LIP) has been investigated in the framework of the multiresolution analysis (MRA) performed by wavelet transform. The S-LIP model is an extension of the Logarithmic image processing (LIP) model. The motivation of this work is to implement classical wavelet applications in the S-LIP framework. The underlying idea is to take advantage of both the multiscale analysis performed by the wavelet transform and the logarithmic processing of the pixels' intensity by the S-LIP model. The S-LIP wavelet transform is introduced and applied to automatic denoising in order to highlight its intrinsic characteristics. As an illustration, signal-to-Noise Ratios for both the linear wavelet transform and S-LIP wavelet transform are calculated for different levels of Gaussian, Poisson, Speckle and salt-and-pepper noises.

image watermarking is in use for proving ownership for a fairly long time. For most of the study on this area, a pseudo random number sequence PRSN or a binary image logo is embedded as watermark. Nowadays the owner's face or sound is also embedded as biometric watermark. image is transferred to discrete wavelet transform domain, watermark is embedded to DWT values, then DWT values are retransformed to spatial domain to obtain watermarked image. Embedding a vector image logo as watermark was not tried in previous works. In this work, non-blind robust watermarking is applied using a vector image as watermark. Various attacks are applied to watermarked images and for each of these attacks vector image watermark is obtained equal or almost equal to the original. Embedding vector image as watermark will bring a new discipline for image watermarking and a new development will arise in this perspective.

Texture is low-level image features. Today, texture analysis is applied to different fields such as ultrasound images recognition, document classification, classification of radar imagery, texture-based image retrieval. Texture analysis and classification is an important issue. Comparison of texture analysis and classification was characterized by the lack of adequate methods. wavelet decomposition method is superior to other conventional methods. In this study, Discrete wavelet Transform (DWT) Adaptive Network Based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) were used for acqusition and recognition invariant properties of tissue-type image. 22 texture images were taken from Brodatz database for the analysis of tissue-type image. 50 randomly 64 x 64 regions are selected from each of 22 images. Testing Succes with the average rate of 91.27% was obtained by using DWT-ANFIS method.

In this paper we aim at providing a robust and more compact approach for detecting edges compared to the traditional edge detection algorithms like Roberts, Sobel, Prewitt and evolutionary-inspired Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) techniques. In this proposed approach, an ACO is used alongside Dual-Tree Complex wavelet Transform (DT-CWT) to detect and emphasize edges that would have been difficult to obtain with directly applying ACO or conventional edge detection algorithms. Initially the image is decomposed using DT-CWT to obtain the oriented wavelets and approximation versions of the original image. ACO is applied to each of the decomposed images and then image is reconstructed to get the processed image with the detected edges. The results obtained reveal superior, more detailed and emphasized edges than directly applying ACO or other conventional techniques. The proposed approach is also capable of identifying edges in slightly varying intensity regions.

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder disease that affects more than 55 million people in the world. In this paper, we have proposed an efficient intelligent pattern recognition system for the classification of epileptic and non-epileptic electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. For this purpose, we used state-of-the-art machine learning technique, i.e., SVM (support vector machines) to classify epileptic and non-epileptic signals. Two (02) different classes of signals are used in this study, i.e., non-epileptic with open eyes and epileptic in seizure condition. One hundred (100) subjects from each class were employed for extraction of discriminatory features and classification purpose. After pre-processing of EEG signals, we use discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to decompose signals upto level 5. Then various features, i.e., energy, entropy and standard deviation are extracted from wavelet bands. Next, we use these features in the classification of signals. We achieved the classification accuracy of 100 % at delta band (0 to 3 Hz) and theta band (3 to 6 Hz). The comparisons with the previous studies show the significance of this system, which can be utilized in real-time as well as in offline clinical applications.

This paper presents an efficient image denoising method by incorporating shearlet-based histogram thresholding. Nowadays, digital images are used in wide range of applications but most of these images are degraded during transmission and acquisition process. Removal of noise from images is still a challenging task for many researchers because there is always a trade-off between noise removal and fine edge preservation. This paper is based on image denoising using shearlet transform. Shearlets have excellent features for data analysis and processing, which overcomes the limitation of traditional methods. They are optimally sparse and have multi-scale and multi-directional properties which are optimal in representing image containing edges. In this paper, the proposed method is found to produce superior peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) over the conventional denoising algorithms.

A biometric system provides automatic identification of an individual based on a unique feature or characteristic possessed by the individual. Today, fingerprint has a wide field of use in several areas of biometric system. It is especially used in human identification and verification, which is more reliable than the traditional methods used for access. In this work, Gabor wavelet Transform based fingerprint recognition system has been realized. The wavelet features are extracted from the gray-scale fingerprint image. Finally, the k nearest neighbor classifier is used for the recognition of fingerprint images. The proposed algorithm is tested on images from PolyU high resolution fingerprint database. Experimental results have shown that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of existing methods.

For VLSI, internal electrical measurements are key steps to solve design debug issues and to perform failure analysis. Due to multiple metal layers, active areas of the chip are only accessible from the backside of the die. The ability of optical contactless techniques to operate through the silicon substrate and the few sample preparation required have widely contributed to promote them as unavoidable tools of the defect localization workflow. Timing issue or unusual consumption can be detected by static and dynamic photon emission analysis and Electro Optical Probing. The identification of the emission spots is an essential step of the process. Due to scaling, more and more emission nodes are located within the acquisition area so that large variations of emission intensity can exist and it is difficult to recover a signal with a good signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). In this paper, automated techniques are reported to locate spots in these complex areas and to recover electrical waveforms with a good SNR. We will underline the challenge and define applications boundaries of these techniques. These techniques gives some perspectives for probing applications and allows FA community to use signal processing methods instead of expensive devices.
