This paper introduces a mobile application that aims to improve exercise posture analysis in gym environments using machine learning and computer vision. The solution processes user-uploaded videos to detect posture errors, utilizing Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and MediaPipe for precise pose estimation. The trained model achieved high accuracy in classifying exercise postures, demonstrating reliable performance across different user scenarios. Traditional posture correction methods, such as personal trainers and wearable devices, often lack accessibility and precision. In contrast, our application offers a scalable, user-friendly tool that delivers actionable feedback, helping users optimize their workouts and reduce injury risks. The study highlights the potential of combining machine learning with mobile technology to enhance exercise safety and performance, setting a foundation for future improvements. The Digital Learning Campus (DLC) provides an innovative educational environment that combines digital and physical learning opportunities. This paper presents a prototype for issuing European Digital Credentials (EDC) within the DLC framework, aligning with the Europass system to enhance the recognition of non-formal learning. The study explores the integration of Moodle Badges with EDCI standards, focusing on overcoming technical and organizational challenges. The implementation leverages Moodle's native badge functionalities and extends them with additional metadata to meet the European Learning Model (ELM) requirements. Findings indicate that the developed solution can securely issue digital credentials, ensuring their interoperability and recognition across Europe. future work aims to refine the integration, improve user experience, and expand the scope of recognized competencies. This research contributes to the ongoing efforts of creating a robust digital credentialing ecosystem that supports lifelong learning and professional development. Satellite networks, integral to future communication, benefit from SDN’s advantages. Combining SDN with satellite networks, especially leveraging distributed controllers, shows promise. To facilitate research, we propose a simulation platform. Integrating STK, Containernet, Docker, and ONOS, it supports scenario and topology simulation and distributed control. Python scripts drive STK for scenario creation, Containernet for SDN network setup, and ONOS for controller functionality. Tests validate platform efficacy, showcasing ONOS’s robustness and Docker node compatibility. This paper aims to investigate the integration of electromobility into public transport systems through a case study. Given the growing global environmental concerns and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, electromobility is becoming a key factor in the transition to more sustainable forms of transport. This paper analyses the strategic, technical and social aspects of integrating electric vehicles into existing public transport systems. The case study highlights the challenges, opportunities and best practices associated with this integration through a comprehensive approach that includes quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of infrastructure needs, such as charging stations, fleet modifications and intelligent control systems, which are essential for the effective integration of electromobility into public transport systems. Furthermore, the paper assesses the impact of electromobility. The case study findings provide important learning and recommendations for city planners, policymakers and public transport operators seeking to implement or expand electromobility in their systems. This paper contributes to the growing body of research on electromobility in the context of sustainable mobility. The rise in mobile internet usage especially using cellular networks demands efficient performance for web traffic, primarily made up of short TCP flows. For TCP, Cubic is the most widely deployed congestion control algorithm. mmWave and THz offer very high bandwidth and low latency, enabling faster speeds and reduced delay for companies deploying innovative applications, positioning them as the future of wireless technology. As such, we are compelled to thoroughly evaluate the performance of Cubic in various mmWave specific NLoS/LoS scenarios. In the process, we find Cubic really struggling when it comes to static NLoS scenarios and long connections particularly because Cubic keeps on attempting recovery from slow-start but fails due to the NLoS condition. This is where TCP Cubiwood comes to the rescue with an improvement of 189%in a simulated static NLoS scenario with results comparable to Cubic in wired conditions as well, thus becoming a suitable contender for replacing the historical algorithm. Delayed Congestion Response (DCR) tries to make TCP more robust towards channel errors in wireless networks so we also propose an additional flavor of Cubiwood, called Cubiwood-DCR which increases performance slightly in both wired and wireless high frequency scenarios. We extensively evaluate Cubiwood against Cubic, both with and without DCR enabled and make our code available for reproducibility and further research in the same direction. Moreover, the simplicity of this method makes our proposal a much more attractive solution. We believe the proposed solution is easy to implement, can replace Cubic and has the potential to improve performance in THz communication as well which is one of the competing spectrum bands for 6G networks. © 2025 IEEE.

Blockchain technology, with its decentralized and tamper-resistant nature, has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by improving data security, reliability, and interoperability. By leveraging encryption methods such as Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE), patient records can be securely stored and protected from unauthorized modifications or breaches. Additionally, the integration of smart contracts and standardized data formats enables seamless communication across diverse healthcare systems, fostering a more connected and efficient ecosystem. This patient-focused model enhances data privacy while granting individuals greater control over their medical information. However, the adoption of blockchain in healthcare encounters several challenges, including regulatory hurdles, scalability issues, implementation costs, and acceptance by users. Moreover, integrating blockchain with existing infrastructures and ensuring cooperation among stakeholders adds further complexity. Despite these obstacles, research underscores blockchain's potential to redefine healthcare data management. Addressing these challenges can pave the way for a more secure, interoperable, and patientdriven healthcare system in the future. © 2025 IEEE.

Automated grading systems, or auto-graders, have become ubiquitous in programming education, and the way they generate feedback has become increasingly automated as well. However, there is insufficient evidence regarding auto-grader feedback’s effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes, in a way that differentiates students who utilized the feedback and students who did not. In this study, we fill this critical gap. Specifically, we analyze students’ interactions with auto-graders in an introductory Python programming course, offered at five community colleges in the United States. Our results show that students checking the feedback more frequently tend to get higher scores from their programming assignments overall. Our results also show that a submission that follows a student checking the feedback tends to receive a higher score than a submission that follows a student ignoring the feedback. Our results provide evidence on auto-grader feedback’s effectiveness, encourage their increased utilization, and call for future work to continue their evaluation in this age of automation. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) assistants has revolutionized human-machine interaction, but traditional systems often rely on singular input modalities such as voice commands. This project, AURA: AI Robot with Unified Voice and Gesture control, integrates voice and air gesture recognition to create a seamless and intuitive user interface. Utilizing a Raspberry Pi, camera, speaker, and microphone, the system combines computer vision and natural language processing to interpret user commands dynamically. Self-testing is considered to be an effective educational practice for enhancing student performance and long-term retention. Various studies have investigated the impact of using practice quizzes with different levels of difficulty and varying detail in the provided feedback, but they tend to investigate these factors separately and in K-12 and lower division computer science courses as opposed to upper level courses. Our study shows that practice quizzes can significantly improve students’ exam grade in an advanced computer science course in software testing. We evaluate and gather student perceptions on two different systems, MILAGE LEARN+ and Canvas Learning Management System. Over the semester, students took five quizzes via MILAGE LEARN+ or Canvas, each with the option of beginner and intermediate difficulty levels. Students using MILAGE LEARN+ received detailed explanations for their selected answers, while Canvas quizzes only showed them which answers were correct (or incorrect). Students focusing on intermediate-level quizzes performed the best on exams, followed by those engaging with both levels and finally, those focusing on beginner-level quizzes. The practice quizzes improved student exam grades in the current semester compared to the previous semester which did not include practice quizzes. MILAGE LEARN+ received mixed reviews but was generally viewed positively. However, students preferred Canvas for future use. Modern critical infrastructures are becoming increasingly complex and exposed to cyber-attacks. As with any digitalized system, these systems suffer from vulnerabilities that threaten overall system security. As a result, eliminating vulnerabilities is imperative for security analysts to counteract potential future attacks. However, vulnerability management is time-consuming and expensive because it requires testing, verification, and validation for the patches. Therefore, there is a need to prioritize which vulnerabilities to fix first in an efficient manner. This paper introduces a patching strategy by identifying the attack path that poses the most severe system risk and the patches with the highest potential to mitigate this risk. The risk assessment is based on novel metrics incorporating dynamic exploitability, impact scores, and the network topology. The method is evaluated on a case study based on electric vehicle charging infrastructures. We collect information on vulnerabilities, exploits, and available patches for this domain and instantiate a realistic network model with relevant components, some of which contain vulnerabilities.
