One of the most occurred cancers which cause death in women is breast cancer, contributing to 16% of all female cancers worldwide. Detection of the disease in the preliminary stage is the only way to treat the disease from any severity. Presence of the digital imaging modalities also allows the computerized diagnosis of a disease which overcomes the limitations of a human perception system. However, a pathologist who is knowledgeable and skilled is necessary for an appropriate diagnosis. Also, tissue sample analysis requires a lot of manual labor. Therefore, combining digital histopathology with computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) tools can assist in solving these issues. In this paper, we have proposed a hybrid framework of nucleus region segmentation from the histopathological images. The primary aim of the proposed framework is to ensemble information from multiple segmentations and, finally, fuse this information (in terms of intersection) to acquire the core and stable nucleus region(s). For this, we have ensemble the U-net model (with VGG-16 as the backbone network) with the fuzzy c-means algorithm for precise nucleus regions segmentation from the histopathological images. Experimental results reveal that the proposed framework performed better for cell nucleus segmentation with dice similarity index values of 0.8517 and 0.9357 using publicly available BreakHis and BreCaHAD, respectively.

The role of process operations in upstream, midstream and downstream is critical to fundamental business resiliency and production optimization in a dynamic environment. State-of-the-art technologies today rely heavily on human intervention to react to environmental changes. Building reliable physics-based models that are continuously updated are often challenging. For dynamic models, there are no practical solutions available. Prior attempts using adaptive system identification methods have been made to model transient processes, whereas these methods don't scale to large number of variables without extensive human design or guarantee accurate prediction of nonlinear processes. In this work, we propose to use a fast and hybrid, self-learning dynamic process modeling method from routine plant measurements that can be used for short-term forecasts, scenario modeling, process optimization and control. A reduced order modeling (ROM) method based on input-output dynamic mode decomposition has been adapted to develop a dynamic process model based on historical data collected from plant sensors. From time series data, the ROM method computes a set of modes, each of which is associated with a fixed frequency and decay/growth rate. Hence, the ROM models are both parsimonious and meaningful. We applied the proposed approach to an upstream multi-phase separation process. The inlet streams parameters and controller setpoints are used as inputs, the effluent streams variables are used as outputs and the intermediate process variables are used as states. The trained model was used to predict unseen inputs arising from changes in well alignment and slugging. In this sense, the ROM model simplifies the physical equations to a low dimensional form. The ROM model was then used to optimize process performance to reject inlet feed disturbances by adjusting the controller setpoints to reduce process variability. Molecular communications (MC) broadly defines information exchange using (bio-)chemical signals over multiple scales. The research in this area addresses various fields where MC plays an important role. Notable examples include 1) the modeling of living systems, which aims to gain new insights into biological systems;2) their interface with the outer world, aiming to develop techniques to control biological systems;and 3) synthetic MC, focusing on the design, analysis, and implementation of human-made MC systems at different scales.

The arrival of the experience economy tide has claimed the decision-making power of the garment industry shifted from the enterprise to the consumer. Enhancing the shopping experience is an essential part of attracting customers. Traditional clothing store design needs to be updated with cutting-edge technology. This paper presents a virtual fitting and evaluation system in virtual reality environment. Based on digital human body model data acquisition technology, three-dimensional human body visualization modeling for garment design process is carried out. The CLO3D technology is used to realize the three-dimensional design and virtual performance of clothing. Aiming at the cognitive differences between designers and consumers in fashion design, an explorative research was done based on the consumers' perceptual cognition of clothing, which suggested an evaluation method for clothing based on perceptual image and established a perceptual cognition matching model between customers and designers. With the methods of expert interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, card classification, four evaluation dimensions of clothing design were extracted: overall style, appearance style, color&fabric, pressure perception and 11 corresponding evaluation factors. Taking business men's wear as an example, an evaluation factor knowledge base and a general computer-aided clothing design emotional image evaluation system are constructed. Based on this system, consumers can get a new experience of immersive virtual fitting, and designers can quickly get consumers' evaluation of clothing design to improve efficiency of clothing design.

yInternet of Things (IoT), and in general the Internet of Everything (IoE), are deeply influencing the business processes digital Transformation, also in the Public Administration context, introducing new actors and interactions among People, Process, Data and Things. Therefore, a re -design of the processes or the creation of new ones is necessary, in a way that the design of a public service meets needs and skills of different end users (citizens, business managers, experts, etc.). This paper presents a framework for the design of public service user interfaces that, on the basis of domain ontologies and BPMn extensions, support the modeling of new interactions with IoT and bot services, in particular Telegram Bots, in the context of public administration processes. A service semantic annotation model can be shared with and reused by other organizations, thus reducing the user interface design and implementation time, and consequently the overall service development time.

Customized product requirements are driving the need for variety oriented assemblies even in collaborative environments between humans and robots. This calls for the need for robots and humans to be intelligent in order to be aware of and adapt to different product needs. To address this, this study presents a novel approach and architecture to realize a digital thread that allows human and robot agents access to the product model at system run-time. The approach entails modelling a knowledge-based engineering (KBE) software as an agent which actively participates with collaborative agents via communication mechanisms standardized by the IEEE Computer Society. The architecture is described by four concurrent views and is discussed for its advantages and design rationale.

Over the past two decades, the area of artificial intelligence (AI) has developed and grown remarkably. Recent advancements in machine learning, digital data collecting, and computer infrastructure have allowed AI applications to spread into fields traditionally regarded as the domain of human expertise. AI has enormous potential to alter the healthcare industry and enhance patient care when used in medicine and dentistry. AI is being researched in dentistry for a number of objectives, including the precise identification of healthy and unhealthy structures, disease detection, and treatment result prediction. In this research, we develop an approach for emphasizing its assistive and supplementary role for medical professionals in implant planning and maxillofacial surgery. We plan a dental implant operation by developing an AI-based system for detecting implant type and position, the exact location of the mandibular canal, a canal located on both sides of the lower jaw that contains the alveolar nerve, and the total number of missing teeth precisely enough to implement the correct methodology for operating over missing teeth.

Since modeling and simulation are integral tools in engineering, the question is not if they should be used in a design process, but rather how they should be used to deliver the best solutions. The objective of this paper is to outline an approach to creating a simple digital Twin for a small electric vehicle drivetrain utilizing only parametric 3D CAD models, widely used simulation tools and some programming libraries. First, the concept of the digital Twin, its benefits, then the possibilities of using Generative design are briefly introduced, afterwards electric vehicles’ advantages are reviewed. In an example project the properties and opportunities of the 3D CAD- and simulation models are demonstrated. Is human hosting essential to social touch in the public space of merging realities? This paper explores the role of hosting in art and design for mediating social touch in public space, social robotics, virtual reality and tele-matic environments. The question of whether human hosting is essential to social touch was the focus of three experiments held during performance of artistic orchestrations designed for social touch in public space for which the effects of different hosting designs have been analyzed. These internationally presented orchestrations, Saving Face (2012) and Master Touch (2013), purposefully disrupt and re-orchestrate multi-sensory connections in unfamiliar and unpredictable ways, to evoke shared reflection and shared sense making in public space, mediated by a host. Saving Face was orchestrated internationally in museums, urban public spaces and theatres, including;56th Venice Biennale 2015;Connecting Cities Network Ber-lin/Dessau 2013;3th TASIE Art-Science exhibition, Science & Technology Museum Beijing 2013;Beijing Culture & Art Center BCAC 2015-2016. Master Touch was orchestrated at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam 2013. This paper extends the multi-sensory interaction model for social touch described in (Lancel et al. 2019e) to explicitly include the role of a host. The question this paper addresses is whether the host needs to be human. This paper calls for future design of disrupted social touch in merging realities to consider hosting processes of shared sense making. Such design should facilitate new forms of reciprocal embodied interaction, that support descriptive self-disclosure, dialogue and shared reflection on experience of social touch in merging realities.

This paper presents the foundations of a computational science of game design—a model of abstraction: the outcome of a situated design process that conceptualizes something in terms of something else for a specific purpose. The outcome of abstraction is modeled via an abstraction scheme, a step toward modeling the process of game design abstraction from a human-centered perspective. A scheme’s purpose is couched relative to a scheme’s properties, also defined herein;collectively, the properties represent the space of tradeoffs designers must navigate for engineering virtual worlds. This model’s analytical traction is evidenced by applying it to the design of pathfinding, a core behavior in artificial intelligence for games. More broadly, it is a foundation for shared progress because it affords directly comparing particular abstractions of concepts and phenomena across the gamut of research on intelligent systems in entertainment.
