Reconstructing personalized models of the human body is a key step for digital twin modeling of sports motion. There have been many studies reconstructing the body surface models based on video sequences, but these algorithms lack the modeling of internal structures (bones, muscles, blood vessels, etc.). Some researchers map internal organ structures into the 3D point cloud scanning of the body surface, but such mapping does not guarantee realistic tissue deformation and is not developed for video processing. This paper focuses on the video-based reconstruction of a personalized full-anatomy digital model in sports motion. Our method creates a four-dimensional (4D) model of the moving process composed of the 3D models of each time moment. We first use a deep network to regress the body surface of each time point and then estimate the internal structures by registering a previously constructed deformable human anatomy atlas to the body surfaces. To mimic realistic internal structure deformation, we applied articulated linear transform to the bony structures to avoid bone shape distortion and applied smooth nonlinear transform to the soft tissue to mimic the motion deformation. We also developed an intersection removal method to prevent the possible intersection between bones and soft tissues during the deformation. Our method is tested with athletes’ sports videos and automatically generates full-anatomy motion models which cannot be achieved by previous methods. Our method also surpasses the existing video-based body surface modeling method by providing additional internal structures. The 4D human motion model constructed by our method is useful in sports modeling, biomechanics simulation, wearable device design, etc. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

More than 60 years have passed since Fuller enunciated the principle of Tensegrity [1], which would later give rise to the field of biotensegrity [2]. However, many questions arise regarding the scope and feasibility of the applications of biotensegrity model for human biomechanics, in particular, for joint biomechanics or biomechanical units. In this work, a review of 4890 works was carried out, from 1975 (first tensegrity joint model), until May 2022. Throughout this journey, it is considered that there are only 20 works that include proposals for specific physical and/or digital models, of which 5 correspond to the health area, 10 to the robotics area, 2 to the design area and 3 to patents of invention that are discussed in this work. From this tour and always from the biotensegrity perspective, the description, analysis, and discussion of the categories of structures used to model human biomechanics is addressed.

Particle-Trail is a furniture element generated from a conceptual design created using Voronoi patterns and inspired by the spongy, inner structure of bone. It represents a fusion of the organic with the technology of a real-time 3D-digital development platform. Through algorithmic shaping, Particle-Trail, moves beyond concept to be realized as a travertine architectural element. The project originates from the research question: ‘can the inner structure of bone–which provides critical support and strength to the human skeleton–be transposed and transformed into a stone architectural element through subtractive manufacturing?’ Two arch-shaped structures–equal but opposite–become the supporting structure of a table, a modular furniture element with the potential to be scaled for use in different contexts and scenarios, providing a structure of support for distinctive architectural objects. The paper summarizes the design and production process of Particle-Trail as a response to the main research question. A prototype, showcased at an international exhibition, provided proof of concept for this research. The demands of the oil and gas industry are placing an increased importance on drilling harder, faster, and longer, giving rise to the challenge of premature bit failure due to drilling through transitions of varying rock strength. To address this, new strategies have become more prevalent, such as using automatic drillers operating with a constant rate of penetration (ROP). In this study, a method was developed to analyze the effects of drilling through transitions on bit cutting structures and construct an ideal drilling strategy to mitigate the forces overloading cutters using a detailed drilling model. A digital environment was created to model transitional drilling with the capability to predict downhole conditions when provided with various complex inputs. A polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bit design, including cutting structure and other features was first loaded into the model. The desired drilling parameters were provided, and the lithologies of the rock transitions throughout the interval were set. Drilling was then simulated within this digital environment, producing the bit performance data. The data included several high-level performance indicators, such as weight on bit (WOB), ROP, and torque, as well as detailed transient information on individual cutter loading and stress levels. Additionally, the simulation can be viewed as an animation to allow intuitive visualization of the effects of varying transitions on bit performance. By analyzing the outputs from the simulated transitional drilling, conclusions were drawn relating certain drilling parameters and rock strengths to areas of cutting structure damage. When drilling with a constant WOB, it was observed that transitioning from soft to hard formations causes a large increase in instantaneous forces on the cutters in the nose of the bit. In contrast, when transitioning from hard to soft formations, the forces are increased on the cutters in the cone and shoulder. These observations correlate

VR system generally includes three aspects: one is the intervener, that is, people. VR development must be based on human data and perception psychology. The second is virtual environment, which involves hardware equipment, software system, and content production. The third is the human-computer interface, which is the data way to connect people and virtual environment. This paper takes the 30th anniversary virtual exhibition hall of Yunmen College of Guangdong Buddhist Academy as a case, and uses 3D modeling technology and 360 panoramic virtual reality technology to build a synthetic digital exhibition hall. Virtual exhibition halls break the limitations of physical exhibition halls in terms of time and space, greatly expand the extension space and communication efficiency of exhibition information, and meet the functional expectations of the public for activity communication.

The purpose of this study is to organize the communication characteristics of co-creative modeling in order to contribute to solving the social problem and policy decision-making for it, and to attempt to create an evaluation scale for co-creative modeling based on this organization. The research method involved a narrative review of the relevant literature. In addition, the authors conducted workshops in actual fields and used the tentatively created evaluation scale. As a result of the literature review, five narrative concepts were organized. (1) While there is value in stakeholder engagement co-creative modeling methods, there are certain knowledge and competencies that researchers need to possess in order to use these methods. (2) Successful co-creative modeling requires principles such as stakeholder satisfaction, fairness and legitimacy, and workshop design and facilitation that follow these principles. (3) Appropriate use of tools and techniques activate co-creation modeling. (4) Co-creative modeling is further enhanced when it is evaluated by stakeholders. (5) Co-creative modeling has ethical and social issues to be observed. In this study, the authors paid particular attention to the importance of evaluation of co-creative modeling, created and tested a simple evaluation scale, and clarified the potential for co-creative and further issues. © 2024 The Authors.

The digital Twin paradigm incorporates the application of virtual prototypes established during product development as well as sensor data collected during the production and use phase. Another aspect concerns digital representation of the product's end users. A stronger connection between a digital product and its digital user would complement the digital Twin. This paper investigates the concept of coupling a geometrical model of an adjustable operating table including position sensors with a cognitive digital user. Users interacted with both real and virtual instances of the table. Resulting data allow for evaluation of the usability of different interface variants and virtual product representations to develop a cognitive model of end users, showing the potential of a combined digital Twin in human-centered design. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. With the rapid evolution of digital technologies, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in power systems has become increasingly critical to addressing the growing complexity and dynamic demands of modern energy markets. Traditional power marketing models are no longer sufficient to meet the need for real-time interaction, intelligent service delivery, and seamless collaboration among stakeholders. This study aims to develop an AI-powered, interactive power supply system to transform marketing processes and enhance service capabilities. Leveraging a co-innovation strategy-"AI + power marketing"-the proposed system integrates multimodal interaction, real-time voice communication, and intelligent solution generation, enabling dynamic engagement between users and service providers. The research employs advanced AI algorithms to optimize interaction design, improve solution accuracy, and streamline digital marketing workflows. Results from simulations and real-world applications demonstrate significant improvements in user-centric service quality, operational efficiency, and the digitalization of power marketing. These findings highlight the effectiveness of AI-based approaches in fostering intelligent transformation within the energy sector, offering a scalable framework for future advancements in power system marketing and services. © 2025 SPIE.

Oil and gas fields are often characterized by wide distribution of facilities and equipment, harsh natural environments, difficulties in engineering construction and production operation and maintenance management, and increasingly severe risks of violence and terrorism. There is an urgent need to build a unified management platform covering the engineering construction, production and operation phases, and to carry out unified control over the whole life cycle process of oilfields. This paper takes meta-universe technology as the core to construct a virtual reality environment for oil and gas field production and office facilities. It integrates the static data in the engineering construction process, such as engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup, with the dynamic data and business processes in the production and operation process, such as Internet of Things (IOT) production, sales and procurement, and comprehensive office, to build a digital twin full life cycle management platform for oil and gas fields, and applies it to an oil field in West Africa. Aiming at the problem of poor network transmission conditions, this paper researches the adaptive dimensionality reduction algorithm for digital twin high-dimensional animation data, improved Forward Error Correction coding (FEC) and Automatic Retransmission Request (ARQ) algorithms, and adaptive transmission algorithms based on active sampling of the "protagonist aura" model. This ensures stable operation of the twin platform and its applications in restricted and highly unstable network environments. In terms of equipment dynamic fault identification and predictive maintenance, this paper adopts high-fidelity modeling and multi-case simulation technology to realize the modeling and simulation of reciprocating compressors, and establishes a fault diagnosis model based on machine learning and deep learning, which is capable of accurately identifying and classifying different types

Biomanufacturing has gained significant importance in recent years due to its role in developing new medications, handling pandemics, and increasing the well-being of human populations. The nature of biochemical processes requires complex planning and control, with many controlled and non-controllable variables that impact the quality of bioproducts. Representing biomanufacturing process knowledge, control models, and actual occurrences in coherent ontologies could aid both humans and computers in dealing with the complexity. However, there is a lack of such coherent ontologies. Even though the Industrial Ontology Foundry (IOF) Core ontology has provided a groundwork based on the widely used Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) for such ontological requirements, there are still insufficient constructs and clear guidance on the representation of digital artifacts and their correspondences to the physical counterparts. This paper presents a framework to extend the IOF Core to address the gap. The framework is founded on establishing a counterpart (CR) relation pattern presented in our previous paper. Counterpart relation was selected for its ability to facilitate a more intuitive and concise representation of many kinds of digital artifacts (e.g., planned, designed) and physical entities (e.g., planning process, manufacturing process). We validated the approach with a process verification of a fed-batch bioreactor operation. The paper started by defining the use case requirement, which was followed by an ontology development. A knowledge graph of the bioprocess plan and occurrences of processes in the plan was then instantiated. Competency questions were used to concretize the ontology requirement from the use case, and subsequently, an executable set of queries was created from them and was used to computationally validate the ontology against the requirement.
