human subject experiments are often used in research efforts to understand human behavior in design. However, such research is often time-consuming, expensive, and limited in scope due to the need to experimentally control specific variables. This work develops an initial digital simulation of team-based multidisciplinary design, where the actions of individual team members are simulated using deep learning models trained on historical human design trends. The main benefit of this work is to simulate design session events and interactions without human participants, developing a complimentary method to rapidly perform digital team-based experiments. This research merges the benefits of purely data-driven modeling with minimal assumptions about process, along with the strengths of agent-based modeling in which it is possible to tailor agent behavior. Initial results show that the simulated design team sessions are able to replicate trends and distributions compared to human-based team sessions, but run approximately 21 times faster than equivalent human subject studies. The multi-disciplinary design problem currently simulated is loosely coupled, in the sense that agent behaviors can be modeled in isolation of other agents and yet replicate the behavior of the ensemble. Future work will extend the agents to sense and respond behaviors that can be used to model tightly coupled problems, and truly evaluate team formulations.

In the context of highly customized industrial applications, human-machine collaboration systems merge the efficiency and precision of collaborative robots with the adaptability and complex decision-making capabilities of humans. This integration adeptly addresses intricate manufacturing tasks that demand high sensitivity and adaptability. However, the virtual Commissioning of human-machine collaborative design schemes prior to the establishment of such systems presents challenges. These include integrating diverse heterogeneous components, the absence of a unified standard for modeling, and the need for dynamic adjustments to design schemes to enhance Commissioning efficiency across multiple engineers. Moreover, in manufacturing environments where cost and efficiency are critical, there is a demand for lightweight collaborative Commissioning tools that can swiftly resolve issues. To address these challenges, this paper leverages AML standardized modeling capabilities to develop a human-machine collaborative digital twin construction methodology. This methodology is based on meta models, meta-actions, and configurable meta processes. Furthermore, it introduces a granular progressive loading algorithm designed for a cloud-edge operational mode, which, when coupled with multi-view classification techniques, fulfills the requirements of lightweight collaboration in platforms such as web browsers/IPAD/Augmented Reality. The approach is ultimately validated through a case study focusing on battery pack wiring harness assembly units within the new energy battery sector.

This research is to address the perceived lack of warmth in current voice assistants by integrating them with lively and engaging virtual characters created using 3D modeling techniques. In this study, a virtual character (Vtuber) will be developed using 3D modeling techniques, and Python will be used as the main framework to integrate the control APIs of existing voice assistants in the market. This integration will transform the intangible voice assistant into a tangible virtual assistant, which can be installed on smart devices. The objective is to enhance the human-like qualities of smart devices and provide users with a more relatable and personable virtual assistant experience.

digital voltage mode control (DVM C) and current mode control (DCMC) techniques find increasing adoption in mainstream power electronics products; however, it still remains a challenge in identifying suitable small-signal based design methods in shaping load and reference transient performance. This paper considers both continuous-time (CT) and discrete-time (DT) small-signal models (SSMs) in a synchronous buck converter. Using both the modeling approaches, (i) stability anal-ysis and controller design are carried out; their (ii) advantages and shortcomings are highlighted using design case studies; (iii) a combined CT and DT design approach is identified to retain design simplicity and closed-loop stability in achieving fast transient performance. Taking the benefits of both the CT and DT SSMs models, controller design algorithms are developed for both DVMC and DCMC. Further, a new digital PID controller design method is developed to achieve load-insensitive closed-loop output impedance, which results in superior load transient performance compared to a traditional loop-shaping approach. Both DVMC and DCMC case studies are considered, and ana-lytical predictions are verified using simulation results. Finally, a buck converter prototype is made, and experimental results are presented to demonstrate a stable design with fast load transient and reference transient performance.

VR system generally includes three aspects: one is the intervener, that is, people. VR development must be based on human data and perception psychology. The second is virtual environment, which involves hardware equipment, software system, and content production. The third is the human-computer interface, which is the data way to connect people and virtual environment. This paper takes the 30th anniversary virtual exhibition hall of Yunmen College of Guangdong Buddhist Academy as a case, and uses 3D modeling technology and 360 panoramic virtual reality technology to build a synthetic digital exhibition hall. Virtual exhibition halls break the limitations of physical exhibition halls in terms of time and space, greatly expand the extension space and communication efficiency of exhibition information, and meet the functional expectations of the public for activity communication. © 2023 IEEE.

The construction industry has changed rapidly with the development of digital technology in recent years. A new technology called Building Information modeling (BIM) has arisen as multidimensional models to create, analyze, and communicate information. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the design and construction processes of projects. To motivate the adoption of BIM, the study on influencing factors has received much attention from many scholars. In this paper, 33 influencing factors including advantages, obstacles, drivers, and critical success factors were gathered from previous studies, which were classified into six key aspects for the application of BIM in the construction industry under the TOE expanded framework (Technology, Organization, Environment, Economic, Legal, and human). These factors were ranked based on the occurrence frequency of factors synthesized from previous studies. The results show that culture of change, interoperability, standards, top management support, and cost of software are the most important factors influencing adoption of BIM. This contribution helps stakeholders focus on controlling the key factors and recommends solutions to encourage the use of BIM. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With the development of high technology, the digitization of works of art and cultural relics is no longer a problem. How to extract enough and accurate information from a large number of complex information for our use is a common problem in practice. With the continuous improvement of digital inkjet technology and color ink quality, many digital products have appeared in the market, such as digital oil painting, digital traditional Chinese painting, digital calligraphy, digital printmaking, digital paper cutting, digital embroidery and other digital art replicas. However, in addition to modeling, pattern is also an important part of art. Chinese traditional patterns have a long history and brilliant achievements. After solving the problem of production automation, leading enterprises in various industries began to seek detection automation and assembly automation based on machine vision. Machine vision technology has become one of the hot spots in the industry. With the rapid development of 3D technology, its application scope is becoming more and more daily, from cultural relic restoration, simulation manufacturing, digital sculpture to ceramic art production, etc. Machine vision should use image recognition technology instead of human eyes to measure and judge, which is more efficient, more accurate and more objective, and can be repeated endlessly, greatly improving the degree of automation of production. This paper focuses on the three-dimensional patterns of ceramic artworks, aiming at high-quality reproduction and design re-creation, deeply studies the collection and image splicing technology of three-dimensional patterns of ceramic artworks, and constructs an image reproduction system, which realizes the whole digital process from three-dimensional pattern shooting, preprocessing, image correction, two-dimensional transformation of three-dimensional images, image registration, image fusion to generation of complete two-dimensional patterns. © 2022 SPIE.

In line with the emerging Industry 5.0 paradigm's human-centricity characteristic, manual assembly has long been an indispensable element of small-batch and customized products. However, the complex assembly information brings a huge cognition burden for the worker, which restricts the development of the human-centric assembly. To take advantage of the valuable model-based definition (MBD) information in the intelligent manufacturing environment for cognition assistance, an MBD-enabled digital twin modeling method is studied. Firstly, the MBD information is divided into five layers to describe the information according to the assembly process. Based on the assembly layer information of the MBD model, an MBD-digital twin (MBD-DT) model framework is established to illustrate the connection between the MBD model and the digital twin assembly. The MBD-DT modeling problem is solved by an optimization method for assembly model mapping. Finally, the cognition needs in the manual assembly process are analyzed, and the cognition assistance method using the MBD-DT model is discussed. The research of this paper can be applied to digital manufacturing enterprises, extending MBD resources from the design end to the on-site assembly end, providing real-time assistance for manual assembly, and achieving sustainability in human-centric smart assembly, which meets the core value of Industry 5.0.
