Deep learning technology establishes advanced methods for enhancing human-Computer Interaction systems by providing machines with the ability to sense and understand human emotional states. The capability's value stems from its applications, including healthcare situations alongside virtual assistants, gaming interfaces, and educational platforms seeking personalized functions. We present a deep learning framework that unites multimodal data fusion with Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) to enhance emotion recognition systems while improving performance and interpretability. The proposed framework undergoes testing against three benchmark emotion datasets: FER2013, AffectNet, and CK+ dataset. Our experimental findings show that the proposed system delivers a 92.5% accuracy rate for emotion recognition which exceeds traditional unimodal models by a maximum of 12% improvement. Context-aware modeling achieves a 15% performance boost during real-world applications while lightweight architectural design reduces system processing requirements by 25% to support edge device runtime operations. Through explainable AI integration users can see how the model functions to make decisions therefore establishing both trust and ethical practices in use. This research delivers substantial progress in emotion recognition study through an approach that establishes a deployable system that maintains both operational effectiveness and ethical operations across multiple human-Computer Interaction application domains. © 2025 IEEE.

Through the analysis of the construction project in the construction market, this paper discusses the three challenges of the traditional construction cost in the construction project. Because civil engineering is too large and covers a very broad scope, the project is easily disturbed by human factors and natural factors, leading to the construction progress, construction quality and construction safety is difficult to guarantee, so it is necessary to use BIM technology to strengthen construction control and management. BIM is a technology, method or process that uses digital technology to express geometric, physical and functional information of construction projects to support construction, operation and management decisions of project life cycle. Civil engineering is a very key part of the current social development process, with huge economic and social benefits. As far as civil engineering is concerned, its quantity and scale are increasing rapidly. Building information modeling (BIM) technology is leading a global revolution in the construction industry, which represents the future development trend of the construction industry and will have a profound impact on the engineering construction from design, bidding, construction, operation management and other links. Information sharing, paperless construction and whole-process management have been gradually applied to the field of architectural design, construction, management and operation and maintenance engineering. The original practice and training teaching system of civil engineering can no longer meet the needs of enterprises. In actual projects, BIM technology transforms optional factors such as process and change into optimal factors, thus laying a solid theoretical and practical foundation for maximizing investment income of construction enterprises. © 2023 IEEE.

The current industrial landscape is characterized by the immense effort towards the digitalization of systems, networks and processes. Under the light of Industry 4.0, digital technologies such as digital Twins (DT), eXtended Reality (XR), and Additive Manufacturing (e.g. Fused Deposition modeling – FDM) are considered among other key pillars for completing the digital transformation of manufacturing and production systems/networks. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance system dependability, ensure precise process monitoring, and predict future system failures. Consequently, in this research work the design, development, and implementation of a digital Twin based framework for monitoring and improving Fused Deposition modeling (FDM). The focal point of the digital Twin is to assess the quality of 3D printed components, calculate the experimental result and accordingly adjust the process parameters, via the seamless connection of the physical printer to its DT. As a result, a fundamental aspect of this study revolves around outlining the information flow among the previously mentioned components to optimize FDM process parameters, thus reducing the time and resources squandered due to human inaccuracies. The execution of the proposed framework hinges on the integration of appropriate communication protocols and channels between the physical and virtual counterparts in order to achieve seamless and continuous communication. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Considering a low-carbon supply chain, the emission reduction capacity and effort level of enterprises are private information. When the government signs subsidy contracts with low-carbon enterprises, it exists problems of adverse selection and moral hazard. For the information asymmetry, from the two situations of whether there is a cloud platform or not, principal-agent models are established respectively. Analyze the utility function of enterprises and the government, formulate the government's low-carbon subsidy contract menu, and summarize the impact of the addition of the cloud platform on government subsidy contracts. The results show that: under the subsidy contract design with the participation of a cloud platform, not only the expected income of enterprises can be improved, but also the information rent obtained by enterprises with low emission reduction capability can be effectively reduced. © 2023 IEEE.

The interaction between computer systems and humans is largely driven by the decision-making process of human beings. In the interaction process, delays are frequently unseen and therefore unforeseen, and their impacts are not considered as losses or as potential areas for improvement. As a result, the goal of this paper is to design a conceptual model to calculate delays impacts in decision-making interactions between humans and computerized systems. The model considers the sum of delays that occur due to various reasons;these include human delays, interface delays, and computer delays. Moreover, the conceptual model is applied in a supply chain system in which different human decisions interact with the digital planning model of an automotive manufacturer. The purpose of the simulation model is to quantify the loss and improvement potentials depending on the decision process delays in capacity measures in strategic, tactical, and operational planning horizons based on a defined target system. The results obtained show how delays significantly affect the supply chain performance. Finally, a methodological approach is presented for assessing the impacts of the delays in a sensitivity analysis.

Most of the existing character animation generation algorithms introduce motion capture data matching the skeleton, which cannot adapt to the complex and changeable skeleton and dynamic scene requirements. This project intends to study the reconstruction method of mobile capture data for multiple arbitrary skeleton topologies. The character path modeling based on 3D dynamic path search and sound human-machine interface are used to replace the traditional GUI to complete the realistic movement of characters in 3D environment. In order to build an interactive Web VR environment based on Shout3D, its working process is divided into four stages: modeling, output, editing and publishing. The model is generated by Shout3D's professional output plug-in or third-party format conversion software. The experimental results show that the algorithm can generate realistic, smooth and realistic character actions, and reduce the production cost while ensuring data reuse, so as to better adapt to the needs of various three-dimensional scenes. © 2024 IEEE.

The objective of this paper is to detect the over speed of vehicles on the roads. Although maximum speed limit signs exist on the roads, many accidents keep on because of high-speed driving. It is necessary to solve these problems through automation techniques. This paper describes a speed detection system for vehicles, the traffic police can easily check the speed of vehicles by using this system. This system consists of a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) LOGO! V8.3, two Laser sensors, an HMI (human Machine Interface), a speed camera, and a LOGO! CMR (Communication Module Radio). The detected speed is displayed on the HMI display, moreover, if a vehicle crosses the limited speed, this system displays the over-speed on HMI, and the speed camera is activated to capture an image of that vehicle. Also, an SMS (Short Messages Service) will be sent by the CMR to the traffic authority informing them about the violation to take the necessary legal actions. The system can also store the collected data for documentation purposes. The authors describe a simple, affordable technique for monitoring vehicles' speeds in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

This is a work-in-progress paper to share the latest outcomes of an ongoing research project focused on developing and assessing the effectiveness of a novel approach for construction engineering education based on guided active exploration in a digital game environment. The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of guided active exploration in a digital game environment on students' ability to discover systematic solutions for fundamental engineering problems contextualized in domain-specific settings. To address this objective, we are designing and developing an online game, called Zebel: Genesis. The game coupled with a series of pre- and post-assessment tools will be used as learning materials in a graduate-level construction scheduling course in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean engineering (CEOE) at Stevens Institute of Technology to collect empirical evidence for qualitative and quantitative analyses. The design of the game is based on the Constructivism learning theory. The Constructivism learning framework for gamification that forms the foundation of our game platform consists of six essential elements: (1) modeling;(2) reflection;(3) strategy formation;(4) scaffolded exploration;(5) debriefing;and (6) articulation. The final game will have three chapters: (i) linear scheduling, (ii) task dependencies and critical path, and (iii) equipment planning and resource management. So far, we have developed the preliminary version of the first two chapters, and we will use it for a pilot study to examine the functionality of the game and assessment tools. This work-in-progress paper presents the game platform, our assessment strategy, and implementation plans. © American Society for engineering Education, 2022.
