A scanning slot X-ray digital detector operating at relatively high photon energies, mainly 70 kVp for dental radiography, has been designed and modeled. In this energy range, further improvements are required in order to attain optimal image quality for the lowest achievable mean absorbed dose to the patient. This paper concerns the investigation of the physics of imaging using a structured screen composed of a scintillating fiber optic (LKH-6/CCD system) and its performance by Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. The A, factor, X-ray cross-talk, quantum noise effect on resultant values of Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE) and Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) are discussed. The main objective of the research contribution presented in this paper was to enhance the usability of digital kinetic human models in the context of virtual prototyping and human-machine system simulation when the situation is dynamic. Main tasks were applying and evaluating two commercial digitalhuman models, creating own digital kinetic human model, connecting ergonomic and safety analysis methods to system. The goal of the VTT Automation's research contribution was to enhance the digitalhuman model in the concurrent design context both in a direct contact with the machine manufacturer or using a product development portal as contact interface. This includes the development of participating team-based concurrent engineering and integration of digitalhuman model to the human-machine simulation, too.

A VHDL-AMS model of a passive pixel sensor (PPS) for large area digital imaging is presented based on a highly accurate model for the leakage regime of an a-Si:H TFT. We consider, as examples, various diagnostic medical imaging modalities, whose requirements are translated into PPS circuit parameters such as pixel capacitance and input charge. Selected simulation results are presented which illustrate sensor output linearity, pixel readout time as well as the effect of pixel and integration capacitor sizes on output rise time. The flexibility and speed of the presented VHDL-AMS models can expedite accurate simulations for design of large area digital imaging PPS arrays.
