In the context of system architecture design, design changes are deemed as an important issue in the field of cyber-physical systems. This is due to their costs that can increase up to several folds with each step of the life cycle, from conceptual design to operation. Accordingly, before putting such changes into practice, their impacts need to be analyzed based on traceability of dependencies among elements in system artifacts. However, traceability-based Change Impact Analysis (CIA) is time consuming and error-prone process, if performed manually. Thus, a number of tools have been developed in this regard. Yet, in the absence of approaches guiding the specification and implementation of such tools, research reveals their inadequacy for the needs of the industry. To overcome this, this paper proposes a domain-specific modeling approach for the conceptualization of traceability-based CIA tools. Such approach is composed of three building blocks. first, a language for traceability-based CIA designed around the concept of "CIA parameters" (i.e., all kind of information that could contribute to quantitative or qualitative change impact assessment). Second, a modeling procedure referring to a multi-view modeling approach that explains how to use the traceability language to allow creation and machine processing of models (i.e., analysis of models in terms of change impact). Third, mechanisms and algorithms focusing on the implementation of the modeling procedure on a metamodeling platform. The proposed approach is thus an attempt to bridge the gap between design and implementation of traceability-based CIA tools. The approach is illustrated on an example from the aviation field.

With the development of IoT, it assumes an increasingly important role in our lives. In this context, we provide an automated IoT device management system, which uses devices' metadata as the bridge to instruct the system to administrate IoT devices to construct a scene and provide the user side a top-down designed rule engine. Users can write their rules first and then the system can choose appropriate devices to act their roles. © 2021 acm.

Digitalisation has emerged as a transformative force in various domains, and the field of agriculture is no exception. This paper presents a study on designing an e-government solution to support ordinary land management in rural areas, focusing on maintenance interventions aimed at mitigating floods and other related phenomena. We first reconstruct the existing socio-cyber-physical system currently in use for ordinary land management. Then, we develop a use case to understand how technology and human-centric approaches can enhance practices. Specifically, the use case aims to explore how digital tools can support the collection and analysis of information regarding maintenance intervention needs from both citizens and farmers. Finally, we implement a prototype system to support the process as defined in the use case. The system consists of a chatbot for citizens and farmers to report maintenance needs and a dashboard for the organization responsible to visualise the requests. The chatbot acts as an interactive platform for users to submit real-time information, enabling timely responses and streamlined communication. The dashboard provides decision-makers with a centralized and visual representation of the reported data, empowering them to prioritize and allocate resources effectively. By leveraging valuable insights and observations from citizens and farmers, the system can gain a comprehensive understanding of existing problems, and prioritize intervention strategies accordingly.

Future intelligent system will involve various artificial agents, including mobile robots, smart home infrastructure or personal devices, which share data and collaborate with each other to serve users. designing efficient interactions which can support users to express needs to such intelligent environments, supervise the collaboration of different entities and evaluate the outcomes, will be challengeable. This paper presents the design and implementation of the human-machine interface of Intelligent cyber-physical system (ICPS), which is a multi-entity coordination system of robots and other smart agents in a workplace (Honda Research Institute). ICPS gathers sensory data from entities and receives users' inputs, then optimizes plans to utilize the capability of different entities to serve people.

The 6G vision aims for the convergence between the real and digital worlds, supported by unmatched performance in terms of transfer speeds, reliability, and responsiveness. Yet, advanced beyond 5G solutions can al-ready serve as a preamble for implementing this vision. To analyze its viability, robust scenario characterizations and testing methodologies are required. We present the design and implementation of a 6G-intended testbed for Remote Driving Applications, based on two key enabling tech-nologies: Immersive Communications and cyber-physical Twins. In particular, the cyber-physical Convergence is implemented by the combination of human-Machine In-terfaces, Haptic Feedback, and Extended Reality features in immersive cockpits for a real-time case study featuring an immersive race between mobile robots, remotely driven through a 5G private network at UPV's outdoor Velodrome. We analyze the mentioned key enabling tech-nologies, compare similar 6G testbeds, define a system architecture, and finally propose a test plan to evaluate the requirements in the context of 6G communications.

This paper presents a comprehensive approach to the development of an efficient control system for smart homes, addressing the issues of previous smart home systems, including automation, compatibility, and user-friendliness. Here, we design a smart home control system based on the principles of usercentric design and adaptive smart home systems. After identifying the gaps in previous smart home dashboards, it introduces the floating panel concept and recommender systems in the proposed smart home dashboard. Web development technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are also used for seamless user experiences across different operating systems and platforms. The implementation of the proposed smart home system control is expected to improve the overall user experience and encourage more potential smart home users. Performance metrics in the proposed dashboard were substantially improved, with reduced loading times and higher performance scores; first Contentful Paint (FCP) reduced from 3.9 seconds to 1.2 seconds and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) from 5 seconds to 1.3 seconds. The Total Blocking Time (TBT) for the proposed dashboard is 0 ms, improving by 310 ms over the benchmark.

cyber physical systems (CPSs) are emerging systems that offer integrations of computation, networking and physical processes. Recently, the CPS field has been identified as a key area of research, and CPSs are expected to play a major role in the design and development of future systems. However, the mutual coordination and inter-dependence among cyber and physical components come at the price of increased vulnerability to failures and attacks. Hence, securing a CPS is extremely challenging. In this paper, we propose a theoretical framework to address the adaptive security in CPSs. first, we specify CPS on the basis of the CA-BRS (Control Agent and Bigraphical Reactive systems) formalism, which combine agent and bigraphical reactive systems to deal with the virtual level (software), the physical level (execution machines and their environment) and the behavioural level (dynamics) of the CPS. The given formal model helps in answering several crucial modeling issues in CPS, such as the natural heterogeneity, the connected dynamics, the interaction between cyber and physical components and meanwhile, the non-functional properties as security and reliability. Then, this well defined specification of CPS is translated to BPMN (ISO/CEI 19510 standard of the OMG) in order to bring the formal model closer to the implementation. An illustrative example of a secure IT department in a smart factory is considered to consolidate our theoretical approach results. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors. With the rapid development of technologies such as cyber-physical systems, big data, cloud computing and industrial wireless networks, the concept of Industry 4.0 is gradually gaining popularity in the industrial world, in which, manufacturing Execution system (MES) plays an important role in connecting the high-level functions of the enterprise and the production/manufacturing operations. The lack of immediate awareness of the state of the manufacturing system and the human-computer interaction methods with it is the main obstacle to build this intelligent manufacturing environment. In this paper, we propose a data-centric, human machine interaction-aware MES solution: HANA-MES, to visually sense the system (global/local) state to support the capabilities of smart scheduling, dynamic scheduling, precision management of production processes and preventive maintenance of equipment in smart manufacturing environments. We present the HMI-aware design, and the detailed functional implementation of HANA-MES. In addition, the usage data are collected by distributing questionnaires and analyzed to verify the system usability and effectiveness of HMI-aware design. The operators and managers of Zhejiang Yongsheng Co., Ltd, both reported positive feedback on adopting the new MES in their factories. The statistical analysis during the 2018-2020 shows that the new system could obviously save the time and improve the production efficiency. © 2021 IEEE.
