Trusted platform model (TPM) is special-purpose integrated circuits built into a variety of platforms to enable strong user authentication and machine attestation-essential to prevent inappropriate access to confidential and sensitive information and to protect against compromised networks. As a necessary component for multifarious platforms, storage device keeps on a mass of data including confidential and secretive information. How to ensure data not to be accessed by unauthorized users effectively, and to guarantee information to be in safe and secure state? Aiming at these problems, we put forward a novel scheme for protecting data on personal computer platform. By combing trusted computing platform, we propose a secure and reliable model for user authentication and data encryption. The model uses storage protocol to establish a password system to encrypt data, and uses TPM to authenticate different users. We also implement this model by adding it into trusted computing platform. The enhanced platform can not only encrypt data per sector drastically, but also exclude those who can't be authenticated. Some external software attacks and physical theft also cut no ice.

A novel face detection algorithm is proposed in this paper to improve the training speed and detection performance. Firstly, we used Walsh features instead of Haar-like features in the AdaBoost algorithm. Walsh features have less redundancy than Haar-like features due to its orthogonal specialty. Then, we defined a kind of week classifiers with dual-threshold to speedup training process and increase accuracy. Furthermore, during training, dual-threshold of every classifier is adoptively adjusted to separate the face and non-face as far as possible. Experimental results on MIT+CMU frontal face set and CMU profile face set demonstrated that the proposed technique can achieve better results on the detection speed and accuracy than the corresponding method.

When datasets are distributed on different sources, finding out their intersection while preserving the privacy of the datasets is a widely required task. In this paper, we address the privacy preserving set intersection (PPSI) problem, in which each of the N parties learns no elements other than the intersection of their N private datasets. We propose an efficient protocol in the malicious model, where the adversary may control arbitrary number of parties and execute the protocol for its own benefit. A related work in [12] has a correctness probability of ( v;1)ldquo (f is the size of the encryption scheme's plaintext space), a computation complexity of' 0(N2 S2lgf) (S is the size of each party's data set). Our PPSI protocol in the malicious model has a correctness probability iquest/C a/-1)JV~1 plusmnmiddotd achieves a computation cost of 0{c2S2lgM) (c is the number of malicious parties and c < N eurordquo I).

Using the concept of duality between points and planes in 3D projective space, an explicit and efficient method of computer-aided design for developable surfaces based on Bezier and B-spline basis functions is proposed. By the result that a developable surface is the envelope of a single-parameter family of planes, we give the parametric equation of a Bezier and B-spline developable surface, and discuss respectively properties of Bezier and B-spline representations. Meanwhile, we also present a simplified geometric-construction for developable surfaces, that is, G 2 Beta restraint condition algorithm for G 2 continuity between two developable surfaces. It is shown that the geometric construction technique that exists for curves also can be generalized to the design of developable surfaces.

In this paper, an idea of adding semantic role to the dependency structure language model is proposed. Firstly, the dependency structure language model for topic detection and tracking is presented. Then we introduce the method to determine the semantic role for the constituents of a sentence. Finally, we add the semantic role to the dependency structure language model Compare the verbs of the sentences in the stories with a list of verbs related with the verb of the topic. Then, annotate the verbs with semantic roles. This can enable us establish a relation between topics and semantic roles. So, only stories whose sentences containing the right semantic roles are selected. We propose using this semantic information as an extension of the dependency structure language model in order to reduce the number of stories retrieved by the system, and get a high precision in topic detection and tracking.

The problem of scheduling divisible loads on a distributed bus network with start-up costs is considered. In this paper, we present a novel algorithm to obtain one-round installment load distribution solutions by utilizing multiple data transfer streams. We demonstrate how our proposed algorithm works by means of multiple illustrative examples. We compare the makespan generated by our proposed algorithm with the others in difference cases. We conclude that our proposed algorithm can generate better makespans than others. The analysis provides deeper understanding of scheduling divisible loads in the more realistic model, which will allow us to design more efficient algorithms.

With the development of computers and Internet, more and more people use email. Viruses of email have caused large damages. Traditional intentional immunization based on nodes degree does not take the positions of infected nodes into account, and protects the nodes which have high degree. We introduce the concept of community into the research field of virus and immunization, and propose an immunization model based on communities. According to the different stages of virus infection, this model immunizes infected communities or healthy communities, which slows down the virus spreading rate and keeps virus from spreading to more communities. Degree immunization can not keep the virus in a part of communities, and as a result the infected nodes diffuse in almost all communities. Communities immunization can keep the virus in a certain number of communities. These two models are different in the ratio of infected communities and infected communities vector. In summary, communities immunization is different from the degree immunization completely, and is a novel and effective scheme.

The ink drop spread (IDS) method is a modeling technique that is proposed as a new paradigm of soft computing. The structure of IDS models is similar to that of artificial neural networks (ANNs): they comprise distributed processing units. The beneficial property of fault tolerance is obtained when such parallel processing networks are implemented with dedicated hardware. Among the ANNs, radial basis function networks (RBFNs) are known to possess superior fault tolerance. This study evaluates the fault tolerances of the IDS models and RBFNs using the approximation of continuous functions. The experimental results demonstrate that the IDS models are highly fault tolerant in comparison with the RBFNs.

Color management for the printer is one of the key techniques in the color image reproduction. A new color management model is presented based on analyzing the printer color rendering principle. First, the paper takes standard color target for experimental sample, and substitutes color blocks in color shade district for complete color space. Second, data collecting method is introduced and some data bases for deducing the model are created. Then, BP network model is corrected to speed up model's convergence and a new model for printer color management based on the Legendre neural network is deduced and analyzed. Finally the experimental results show that the model can improve printer color management accuracy and can be used in its color management practically.

Image denoising that is a kind of basal pre- treatment can improve visual effect of original images. Rough set is a new mathematical tool to deal with problems on vagueness and uncertainty. It is regarded as a soft computation method. Being the same as fuzzy method, genetic algorithm, neural networks, it is an intellective information processing method. Rough set applies to gray image, and a new image median denoising algorithm based on rough set (RSMD) is proposed in this paper. Comparing experiments are done using classical median denoising (CMD) and the denoising algorithm presented in this paper. Experimental results show that the new algorithm denoising outperforms the classical median denoising.
