In this paper, we propose a novel stability criterion for switched linear systems. The proposed method employs the results on the upper bound of the solution of LME (Lyapunov Matrix Equation) and on the stability of hybrid systems. The former guarantees the existence of Lyapunov-like energy functions and the latter shows that the stability of switched linear systems by using these energy functions. The proposed criterion provides us with easy implementation and less severe restriction than existing methods.

Networked controlsystems are one type of distributed real-time controlsystems where sensors, actuator and controllers are interconnected by communication networks. In networked controlsystems, the insertion of the communication network makes the analysis and design of a networked control system more complex. In the past, control system design and CPU scheduling or network scheduling design have normally been separated. But from the point of both the communication protocols and the interacting controlled system, they should not be treated as separate. Thus, a co-design approach is proposed. Firstly, transmission model for the networked controlsystems is defined when a set of networked controlsystems is connected to the network, the Rate Monotonic (RM) scheduling algorithm and the Earliest Deadline First (EDF) scheduling algorithm are introduced. Then, applying EDF scheduling algorithm with the Integral of the Absolute Error (IAE) to schedule a set of real-time networked controlsystems. Finally, a simulation example is given to implement EDF-IAE performance protocol. The simulation results show that EDF-IAE performance protocol is feasible.

A nonlinear dynamic model of a class of underactuated mechanical systems was built using the Lagrangian method. Some system properties such as the system passivity were analyzed. A GA(Genetic Algorithms)-based stable control algorithm was proposed for the class of underactuated mechanical systems. The Lyapunov stability theory and system properties were utilized to guarantee the system's asymptotic stability to its equilibrium. A real-valued GA was used to adjust the parameters of a stable controller to improve the system performance. An underactuated double-pendulum-type overhead crane system is used to validate the proposed control algorithm. Simulation results illustrate the validity of proposed control algorithm under different conditions.

In this paper, we propose a new scheme for the discretization of nonlinear systems using Taylor series expansion and the zero-order hold assumption. This scheme is applied to the sample-data representation of a nonlinear system with constant state time-delay. The mathematical expressions of the discretization scheme are presented and the effect of the time-discretization method on key properties of nonlinear control system with state time-delay, such as equilibrium properties and asymptotic ability, is examined. The proposed scheme provides a finite-dimensional representation for nonlinear systems with state time-delay enabling existing controller design techniques to be applied to them. The performance of the proposed discretization procedure is evaluated using a nonlinear system.

In most physical processes, the transfer function includes a time-delay, and in the general distributed control system using a computer network, an inherent time-delay exists due to the spatial separation between controllers and actuators. Under the circumstance where an input time-delay exits, the system response overshoots and tends to diverge. For this reasons described above, a controller design method is proposed for a discrete nonlinear system including input time-delay, which adopts the time-discretization using Taylor series. controllers are synthesized using an input/output linearization method. Finally, several cases of the computer simulations were conducted, and the results validate the proposed methods.
