In this paper, dynamic programming alignment is replaced by a particle swarm optimization (PSO) procedure in time warping problem. The basic PSO is a very slow process to be applied to speech recognition application. In order to achieve a higher performance, by inspiring of PSO optimization methodology, we introduced a PSO Inspired Time warping Algorithm (PTW) that significantly increase the computational performance of time warping in alignments of long length massive data sets. As a main enhancement, a pruning strategy with an add-in controlling threshold is defined in PTW that causes a considerable reduction in recognition time, while maintaining the system accuracy comparing to DTW. © 2008 IEEE.

Nowadays, an increasing amount of companies and organizations only implement their core business and outsource other application services over Internet. Besides, statistics show surprising details on the decline in the growth of the number of web servers being set up throughout the world. Real-Time characteristic of the web is an important issue in the use of web services. Moreover, the process of web service registration is time consuming and needs human interference. In this paper a framework was proposed which discovers and registers new web services automatically. In addition an ontological fuzzy graph, which is used for web service composition, was presented. This graph is formed and modified during the update of the main registry. © 2008 IEEE.

We proposed a parallel linear storage space with a sub linear complexity text searching algorithm by a combination of an offline and online text searching methods. We achieved this by modeling a Semi-self Index which is consists of text along its index in an efficient and compact structure. This structure will only required an n storage space and also a small running time space during the search process. The proposed searching algorithm is proven to be practically efficient since it gained a near linear speedup in a parallel environment and runs in the average of O[n/cp m log c/|Σ|+ c - time] theoretical time. © 2008 IEEE.

The phenomenon that the state of software degrades with time is known as software aging. The primary method to fight aging is software rejuvenation. This paper presents new ways of effective software rejuvenation using virtualization for addressing software aging. This new approach is meant to be the less disruptive as possible for the running service and to get a zero downtime in most of the cases. We construct the state transition models to describe the behaviors of virtualized and non-virtualized application server. We map through the rejuvenation actions to this transition model with stochastic process and express availability, downtime and downtime costs in terms of the parameters in our models. Our results show that virtualization and software rejuvenation can be used to prolong the availability of the services. © 2008 IEEE.

OMG's Model Driven Architecture (MDA) has deeply influenced modern-day software development, not only by providing promising means for automating the software process, but also through revitalizing the role of modeling in software development, the importance of which had been neglected during the recent euphoria over lightweight development methods. However, MDA's need to remain reasonably abstract means that it is more a software development approach rather than a standalone methodology, and therefore needs methodology support to be practically useful. Several MDA-based methodologies exist today, yet the need remains for the definition of an instantiable MDA-based development process. We propose a generic lifecycle for MDA-based software development that can be used as a basis for constructing MDA-based methodologies through a Method Engineering (ME) process. The phases and activities of the proposed lifecycle are described herein, with a number of prominent MDA-based methodologies assessed as to their degree of conformance to the proposed lifecycle. © 2008 IEEE.

In this paper, to improve quality control system and being in the competition at a cement production line, we implemented a Local Linear Neuro-Fuzzy Model (LLNFM) and Kalman Filter Information Fusion (KFIF). We proposed a novel approach for model reference control of a cement milling circuit that has previously been studied several times. To do so, first gathered information from Distributed Sensor Network (DSN), deployed in the plant, is used to model under-control process based on the LLNFM approach. This LLNFM is used to prepare data for a KFIF system to derive the form of the control vector with the goal of driving the response of the system to that of a desired model in a noisy operating environment. The paper demonstrates the extraction of the reference models and the derivation of the control laws and the results observed justify the tracking and stability claims of the paper. © 2008 IEEE.

In a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) where security is a crucial issue, trust plays an important factor that could improve the number of successful data transmission process. The higher the numbers of nodes that trust each other in the network means the higher successful communication process rates could be expected. To determine trust, there are several criteria need to be considered. These criteria which are also known as features or evidences can be used to represent each node's trust properties in the trust evaluation process prior to initiating certain packet forwarding task. Nodes that are able to present valid features requested by source node will be included in the MANET operations. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of security vulnerabilities in MANET and the use of trust concept to enhance the security. This paper also discusses several potential features that have been used in existing works which are expected to be suitable to be used in the trust evaluation process to create a trusted MANET community. © 2008 IEEE.

RNA structural alignment is one of key issues in bioinformatics. It aims to elucidate conserved structural regions among a set of sequences. Finding an accurate conserved structure is still difficult and a time consuming task that involves structural alignment as a prerequisite. In this work, structural alignment is viewed as an optimization process. A quantum based genetic algorithm is proposed to carry out this process. The main features of this algorithm consist in the quantum structure used to represent alignments and the quantum operators defining the overall evolutionary dynamic of the genetic algorithm. The quantum structure relies on the concept of qubit and allows efficient encoding of individuals. Experiments on a wide range of data sets have shown the effectiveness of the proposed framework and its ability to achieve good quality solutions. © 2008 IEEE.

The IP Lookup process is a key bottleneck in routing due to the increase in routing table size, increasing traffic and migration to IPv6 addresses. The IP routing lookup involves computation of the Longest Prefix Matching for which existing solutions, such as BSD Radix Tries, scale poorly when traffic in the router increases or when employed for IPv6 address lookups. In this paper, we describe a CREW PRAM multiprocessor organization lookup that uses P processor for solving LPM problem. By this technique P-1 IP addresses can be looked up simultaneously thus the performance of processors increase in linear manner. First we categorize all prefixes in some groups based on their first two bytes and sort them into their groups. By assuming M prefixes exist in a group then time complexity of insertion algorithm in worst case reduces to O(Log M + M/2) and the time complexity of search, update and deletion algorithms reduce to log(M)for each prefix. © 2008 IEEE.

Stock market transaction is one of the most popular investments activities. There are many conventional techniques being used and these include technical and fundamental analysis. Recently, AI such as ANN, GA, FL and RS are widely used by the researchers due to their ability to predict the behavior of the stock market efficiently. In this research, a comprehensive preprocessing data modeling of stock market is developed to acquire granular information that represents the behavior of the data that is to be fed to the classifier. The pre-process methodology includes splitting, scaling, normalization, feature selection, and follows by the TenFold Cross Validation method as a benchmark for estimating the predictive accuracy and effectiveness of splitting and selecting the input data. Daily data of KLCI is captured and analyzed, and it is found that the movements of the Indices are unstable;hence the forecasting process becomes difficult. A Hybrid Neurofuzzy with ANFIS is suggested to predict the behavior of the Indices. Four technical indicators are chosen to analyze the data. To verify the effectiveness of the ANFIS model, two experimental have been carried out and the results show that ANFIS method is competent in forecasting the KLCI fabulously compared to ANN. © 2008 IEEE.
