The methodology for objectoriented development (MOOD) is based on a combination of published concepts and techniques and original developments motivated and proven through practical experience. It was recognized at an early stage in the development of MOOD that a broader application of the principles of object orientation can bring significantly greater benefits than the more constrained use of objectorientedprogramming techniques alone. Consequently, techniques were devised whereby the objectoriented analysis and design notations could be used for the modelling of business processes. These techniques have been applied comprehensively against the process for system development itself, resulting in the production of an object-oriented process supporting object-oriented development. The underlying conceptual basis for MOOD process development is first introduced. Following this, the system development process is addressed in outline, and the principal implications summarized.< >

Genetic algorithms are ideally suited to the processing, classification and control of very-large and varied data.
