New services are the sources of profit for banks, to deliver new services quickly, it is difficult and error prone to revise the core banking system, front banking system comes into being. Developers could develop new transactions, deploy them to the front banking system, and put them online quickly. The time to deliver the new service to market is critical for higher degree of customer satisfaction and advantageous competition position of the bank. In present, the front banking systems deployed in domestic banks have complex architecture and are not easy to scale. A design of a new generation of transaction engine for front banking system is proposed. Designed using the principles of SOA, it is very easy support more and more protocols using pluggable modules. The transaction engine delegates session management to a database engine, which makes the engine highly scalable. In addition, a new worker thread scheduling strategy, which is based on private variable pool and meta data sharing, can fully exploit the capability of multi cores to improve system throughput. Finally the hierarchical XML model for messages is translated into a flattened out one during developing phase, and a light weight hash-based XSLT transformer is used to accelerate rendering of web pages, which supports many users accessing the front banking system concurrently. The experiment results show that the transaction engine make full use of hardware capability and system throughput is improved over a traditional engine by 23.2 percent.

Although e-Commerce systems have progressed over the past few years, they lack important aspects such as building long-term and profitable relationships with customers and facilitating an environment that encourages buyers to buy more. The actual execution of e-Commerce today is too different from its real-life counterpart, and for the most part it's a "Web page" with listing of items and prices. Providing an e-Commerce system that brings on-line shopping closer to the actual experience that people have in a real life environment would bring the system closer to the concept of 'e-communities'. In privacy-preserved communities, the system adheres to basic user protection and privacy principles along existing legal norms. This paper presents a Kerberos-based protocol for controlling and accessing privacy-preserved information from networked applications. Our approach is novel in that it incorporates a number of legal privacy requirements into the technical design of the system itself To our knowledge this work is the only e-Commerce e-community based solution built specifically to meet the requirements of privacy legislation, and designed to be controlled by a third commonly trusted application.

The paper describes what evolving processes are and presents a computational model called evolving connectionist systems (ECOS). The model is based on principles from both brain organization and genetics. The applicability of the model for dynamic modeling and knowledge discovery in the areas of brain study, bioinformatics, speech and language learning, adaptive control and adaptive decision support is discussed.

The paper deals with the investigations on an iterative learning approach to determine the desired current waveforms for switched reluctance motors, which give rise to ripple-free torque. The current waveforms are generated by repeated corrections from iteration to iteration starting from the conventional rectangular pulse profile as the initial waveform. The scheme requires much less a priori knowledge of the magnetic characteristics of the motor. The algorithms have been formulated for both one-phase-on and two-phase-on schemes, for a four-phase switched reluctance motor, in the light of the principles behind iterative learning. based on the observations from the simulation results of these schemes, a modified scheme has been proposed by incorporating a suitable commutation process, often called torque sharing functions, in order to generate reasonably smooth current waveforms for the ease of tracking by the stator circuit of the motor. The performances of all the proposed schemes have been verified by computer simulation.

Graduates need to possess a balance of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Within control engineering students must learn the basic principles of feedback system stability but also how to design, install and tune a practical control loop. The correct balance between principles, theory and technology is sometimes difficult to achieve. Education which is centred on particular equipment cannot give the breadth of exposure required. Further, when using a certain manufacturer's hardware or software, there is a danger that the exercise becomes simply training rather than broader based education. The paper looks at the teaching of traditional control engineering in further and higher education and examines the impact that IEC (6)1131-3 can have. An approach in which IEC (6)1131-3 compliant programming software is used with realistic simulations of a plant is described. This approach has been found to have many benefits for teaching and also for practising instrumentation and control engineers.

The problem of quality control of radiological systems is discussed in relation to the management and quantitative tools normally applied to it. An alternative approach is to consider the problem in terms of a control loop in which the sets of quality control measurements are compared with their previous values in the context of a numerical model of the system to produce quantitative corrections. A preliminary study of the method applied to mammographic quality control is discussed. By modelling the system with an appropriate set of simultaneous linear equations relating changes in the controlled parameters to the quality control measurements obtained, it is possible to identify quantitative changes in the controlled parameters from measured quality control data using the inverse of the model in matrix form. This method essentially encapsulates knowledge about the system in the form of the linear model. This is distinct from current work attempting to apply artificial intelligence knowledge-based techniques to the problem.

Neurofuzzy modelling combines the attractive attributes of fuzzy systems and neural networks, and is ideally suited to data modelling. The resulting models possess the ability to learn empirical data, and their behaviour can be described by a series of humanly understandable fuzzy rules. However, conventional neurofuzzy modelling is essentially restricted to low dimensional problems for which good quality expert knowledge and empirical data are available. This observation has motivated the development of constructive neurofuzzy modelling techniques, which iteratively identify parsimonious neurofuzzy models based on a combination of available a priori knowledge and empirical data. Bayesian inferencing techniques are adapted to perform local regularisation producing a method for successfully controlling superfluous model parameters, further improving model generalisation and data interpretation by the generation of valid models. This paper examines the merits of this approach by applying the techniques to a real world data set. The technique successfully produces an accurate transparent model and highlights inadequacies in the data.
