BBW (Brake-by-wire) can increase the electric and hybrid vehicles performance and safety. This paper proposes a novel mechatronic booster system, which includes APS (active power source), PFE (pedal feel emulator), ECU (electronic control unit). The system is easily disturbed when the system parameters and the outside conditions change. The system performance is weakened. The cascade control technique can be used to solve the problem. This paper develops an adaptive cascade optimum control (ACOC) algorithm based on the novel mechatronic booster system. The system is divided into main loop and servo loop, both of them are closed-loop system. The servo-loop system can eliminate the disturbance which exists in the servo loop. So the robustness of the cascade control system is improved than which of the general closed-loop control system. Different control object is respectively chosen. The control-oriented mathematical model is designed. Based on the control-oriented model, optimum control algorithm(LQR) is used to design the servo-loop controller for optimum error and rapid response. To eliminate the system uncertainty and control the hydraulic pressure accurately, adaptive control algorithm, which includes the feedforward controller and the adaptive module based on the recursive least-square algorithm with a fixed forgetting factor()(abbr. RFF), is used to design the main-loop controller. The performance of the novel mechatronic booster system is evaluated by co-simulation and bench test. Experimental results prove that the system fulfills the requirements of the brake system for automotive. Compared with using PI single-loop system and cascade PI system, the adaptive cascade optimum control algorithm can improve the rapidity and robustness of system. The paper introduces an effective toolbox for engineers, researchers and students to design and study electric drives. The described package eDrive includes a database of motors, power converters, and gears, an object-oriented simulator, a virtual signal generator, the module of the torque/current, speed, and path controllers, as well as the suitable visual interface. The system provides for the development, tuning, and investigation of electric drives with current, speed, and position adjustment in the open-loop and closed-loop modes of operation.

The objective of this paper is to realize the real-time visualization of hydroelectric project. Based on the object-oriented graphics modeling technology, we construct the three kinds of graphics models sorted by hierarchy---unit model, process model, scene model in the four-dimensional coordinates. With these models, the modeling method of visualization of hydroelectric project is proposed. And in this visualization system, the construction simulation system is employed to simulate the real-time behaviors of the construction, the object-oriented Graphics Rendering Engine (OGRE) which organizes and updates the virtual environment is integrated, the interaction system which responds to the user-initiated events and the user exploration for the simulation results in real-time is designed. So, the interactive dynamic visualization system of hydroelectric project is developed. Eventually, the effectiveness and capabilities of the system are showed through the application examples in China.

In view of semiconductor wafer probe area's workshop management and control problem, with the thought of object-oriented, a behavior model of probing workshop is set up in terms of the figuration of UML. Paper puts forward an integrated workshop control strategy considered three factors;wafer releasing speed, dispatching rule and buffer capacity. It uses the SimTalk brought by EM-plant to transform behavior model directly into simulation model. By analyzing the experimental result of simulation model, the influence of the wafer releasing speed, machine dispatching and buffer capacity upon probe performance indicators such as month output, production cycle and quantity of work in process are got. It supplies the decision maker with evidence.

A novel 3D simulation system for supporting turn-milling centre design is developed in this paper. In order to solve the shortcomings of using traditional solid model for network-based simulation, the 3D visualization of the model and motion simulation for turn-milling centre is realized by VRML/Java interaction through the external authoring interface (EAI). The virtual environment of the turn-milling centre is established by VRML based on virtual reality technology, and the 3D assembling model is built by UG software and channelled into the virtual environment by VRML format. The optimal method is put forward by three steps optimization data to realize transmission of network. The motion simulation program for turn-milling centre is made by VRML/Java language with the movement simulation control function to realize motion simulation. The system can not only browse motion process of turn-milling centre on a Web browser, but also realize resource-sharing, therefore the research of motion simulation for turn-milling centre based on the Internet has important research value and application prospect.

Supply chain management is now recognised as one of the best means by which enterprises can make instant improvements to their business strategies and operations. It deploys new technologies, methods, tools, and techniques to solve problems. Recently, multi-agent technology is increasingly regarded as a good solution for supply chain management. This paper attempts to apply adaptive multi-agent method to supply chain simulation, and defines the agent activities to negotiate the tradeoffs of acquiring different resources, so as to realise the multi-echelon optimisation, and some related topics are also discussed in this paper.

The demands on a multibody simulation tool focusing on contact analysis represents a special challenge in the field of scientific visualization. This is especially true for multidimensional time-varying data, e.g., two dimensional surface related data and vector data. Typical simulations produce between 103 and 105 time-steps of data, this results in 500MB to 8GB of compressed surface data. A surface data structure is presented which: supports the object oriented multibody modeling approach, represents both instantaneous (contact pressure) and irreversible (wear and life) physical phenomena, allows efficient computation and visualization, allocates memory on demand while still having fast data access, has effective data compression, has additional attributes for data reduction and other features to support computation, fits the multibody surface description and eliminates time consuming transformations, and supports interactive visualization. The visualization techniques have been implemented in a full-scale industrial system called BEAST, and has proven its usefulness.
