As processors become more powerful, electronic products become more complex. embedded system designers are able to include design features traditionally associated with personal computer (PC) including graphical user interfaces, TCP/IP networking, and database management. For introducing knowledge of embedded system to student of master of software engineering (MSE), the Software College at Tsinghua university and Beihang university had an opportunity to add technical electives for embedded system, the author received approval to teach embedded system design course. This paper describes the development and implementation of that course toward the goal of teaching students the hardware considerations, software considerations, and design processes involved in embedded system design. In the end, the teaching effect of course for embedded system design is analyzed.

This paper proposes to enhance an existing motorcycle dynamics model, in order to take account of the longitudinal dynamics, the wheels dynamics and the rear wheel traction. The added equations of motion are obtained using lagrangian formulation. Also, to model the road surface, two additional equations describing the longitudinal slip and the longitudinal forces dynamic are included. The model is able to describe the coupling of the in-plane (longitudinal) and out-of-plane (lateral) dynamics and represents a suitable computational tool for designing preventive motorcycle active safety systems and controller synthesis applications. Simulation results and discussions are given in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed mathematical tool.

In this paper, we propose a hard-wired method for on-board diagnoses of embeddedsystems based on the model-based diagnosis. In (he recent works of on-board diagnoses, the qualitative deviation models are widely used for the abstraction of the continuous dynamics of a system, so that the fault detection and isolation is reduced to the satisliability test for the set of constraints written in Sign Algebra. However, the algorithm for SAT(SATisfiability test for propositional formula) is not applicable directly for the real-time diagnosis due to its computational complexity. We transform the constraints in Sign Algebra into the set or the Boolean equations. The diagnosis algorithm is described in the form of logical functions that are parameterized solutions of (lie equations, and we implement these solutions in logical circuits in order to achieve the more accurate and quick responsible diagnoses. We use a specific application: the electronic throttle system of automobiles, to discuss the design method and its actual feasibility.

Object transportation is a critical task in various applications such as industrial automation, logistics, and search and rescue, requiring efficient and reliable methods to handle dynamic and constrained environments. Utilizing multiple robots in object transportation enhances flexibility, scalability, and efficiency, allowing for distributed workload and improved robustness against individual robot failures. Current techniques in multi-robot object transportation include centralized and decentralized control strategies, The key challenges are communication constraints, coordination complexity, and realtime adaptability. Our methodology leverages Decentralized MPC, which significantly contributes to overcoming these challenges by enabling real-time, local decision-making while ensuring global coordination and optimal performance. The required communication between these devices is handled by the runtime and/or the target implementation and is, hence, transparent to the development process. This paper proposes an approach that complements traditional testing of IEC 61499 function blocks with model-checking. To that end, an automated translation approach is presented that details the generation of models for the popular Uppaal model-checker. The usefulness of the taken approach is elaborated by investigating the test of a segment of a modern building automation system.

This paper proposes RMAS (relational model multiagent system), a database-centric architecture for the realization of multiagent systems suitable for the embodiment of reasoning and control in cyber-physical systems. The RMAS uses a tightly coupled association between an active database management system and a host processing language. A first instance of RMAS is proposed by means of the coupling of the Matlab environment and the SQLite database language. The choice of the database language is guided by the keen attention of RMAS to systems that feature scalability down to the tiny embeddedsystems of the Internet of Things. An example of a typical holonic manufacturing problem with mechatronics entities is conducted by means of the proposed architecture.
