AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform (AP) is an emerging industry standard that tackles the challenges of modern automotive software design, but does not provide adequate mechanisms to enforce deterministic execution. This poses profound challenges to testing and maintenance of the application software, which is particularly problematic for safety-critical applications. In this paper, we analyze the problem of nondeterminism in AP and propose a framework for the design of deterministic automotive software that transparently integrates with the AP communication mechanisms. We illustrate our approach in a case study based on the brake assistant demonstrator application that is provided by the AUTOSAR consortium. We show that the original implementation is nondeterministic and discuss a deterministic solution based on our framework.

This paper proposes EventCluster, a novel approach in real-time data modeling. It deploys the Rank Order Clustering (ROC) method to automatically group all existing data sensors and actuators of the system to the Key Performance Indicators of the system. EventCluster (EC) is a cause-effect relationship data clustering tool that detects the interrelationship between field data and system performance parameters in real-time. Through its simple data filtering mechanism it can be used as a precursor to real-time sensitivity analysis. The underpinning logic of the technique is that the raw data can be obtained from field data acquisition devices and the degree of their influence on key system performance indicators can be measured in realtime with minimum computational effort. Normally monitoring and control systems are equipped with sensors and actuators that provide information for a pre-specified function regardless of other parts of the system. The global assumption of method is that a system performance or state is a function of all the inputs of the system, unless proven otherwise. In the proposed method all the inputs and outputs of the system are assumed to affect one another unless proven otherwise. In this paper, an experiment in Cement Kiln operation case demonstrates the suitability and applicability of EventClustering modeling method in industrial applications. We use the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) sensors and actuators installed to monitor the operations of Kilns in Cement manufacturing process and its contagious operations as a case study for proof of concept. The sensors and actuators data collected builds the input data for measuring the performance (output) of the Kiln. Substation-area protection is the key aspect of new generation protection system with a layered structure in smart substation. This paper describes the concept, coverage and functions of substation-area protection and the coordination with other subsystems. Then an idea of implementing full-featured applications of substation-area protection gradually has been proposed. According to the practical functions, a series of protection modules have been designed subsequently, which involve unit redundancy protection, optimized substation-area backup protection and substation-area automatic controller. To meet the requirements mentioned above, a dedicated hardware platform has been proposed, including main processor module, FPGA(field programmable gate array) data processing module and a data communication module between boards. Finally, a prototype of substation-area protection adopting the proposed design has been realized. The performance of the prototype is evaluated through static experiments and RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator) simulation of a typical 110 kV substation. The test results show that the specialized indexes of the prototype have fully reached engineering requirements.

Recommender systems (RSs) are increasingly being used to help in all sorts of software engineering tasks, including modelling. However, building a RS for a modelling notation is costly. This is especially detrimental for development paradigms that rely on domain-specific languages (DSLs), like model-driven engineering and lowcode approaches. To alleviate this problem, we propose a DSL called Droid that facilitates the configuration and creation of RSs for particular modelling notations. Its tooling provides automation for all phases in the development of a RS: data preprocessing, system configuration for the modelling language, evaluation and selection of the best recommendation algorithm, and deployment of the RS into a modelling tool.
