To expand the exploration range of the quadruped robot, this paper proposes a vision-based autonomous stair-climbing locomotion framework for the quadruped robot. Since the initial pose of the robot is unknown at early exploration phases, the complete point cloud data of the stair may not be collected, which often leads to inaccuracies in extracting step geometric parameters. Therefore, this paper integrates the yaw angle data from the robot's IMU for plane clustering and proposes a step sizes extraction method that establishes a local coordinate system between adjacent planes, which can calculate the accurate step width and height. The step sizes are utilized to plan the matching gait parameters, and the position servo controller is used to realize the stair-climbing of the quadruped robot. Simulation experiments conducted on a virtual prototype showed that the quadruped robot could climb six steps stably and quickly under the guidance of visual information, verifying the effectiveness of the above method. © 2024 ieee.

A system for smart vehicle emissions monitoring and analysis using cloud computing and neural networks is presented in this paper. As global environmental concerns develop, monitoring and reducing vehicle emissions is crucial. Scalability and real-time data processing are issues for traditional approaches. Thus, cloud-enabled neural network architecture for scalable and efficient vehicle emissions monitoring using distributed computing is developed. A neural network model trained on various vehicle emission datasets, allowing for precise pattern analysis and prediction of emissions. The scalability of the system is guaranteed by using cloud resources, which can accommodate the rising amount of data created by an increasing number of vehicles. By incorporating cloud-based data processing seamlessly, real-time monitoring is accomplished, enabling immediate analysis and prompt emission alerts. The suggested emissions tracking platform is robust and scalable to intelligent transportation systems by revealing vehicle emissions' environmental effect. Future smart city and sustainable urban transportation developments are built on cloud computing and neural networks. The proposed system shows how cloud-enabled neural networks may solve complicated vehicle emissions problems. © 2024 ieee.

Cyber Physical System (CPS) enhances the functionality of various cyber and physical equipment of Smart Healthcare System (SHS) and provides automation in the healthcare sector using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. SHS collects medical data with the help of sensors or actuators equipped with smart medical devices that act as the physical component of CPS, then processes and analyzes these medical data with the help of cyber components of CPS to provide automation in health monitoring, doctor consultancy, medical prescriptions, medicine delivery and various other perspectives of the healthcare sector. These advancements in the healthcare sector result in great assistance for healthcare individuals like doctors, patients, nursing staff, etc, but at the same time deal with very sensitive parameters like time, efficiency, reliability, security, etc, that need to be managed with utmost accuracy for preserving each life in this global smart healthcare environment. There can be various efficiency parameters in CPS enabled SHS namely the number of hops, average energy consumption, resource utilization, etc, This work elaborately defines various characteristics of CPS in SHS, efficiency parameters, and major challenges for the successful implementation of CPS enabled SHS. © 2024 ieee.

This paper presents a road pothole detection model based on the AlexNet Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Through data preprocessing, model construction, Dropout regularization, and evaluation based on the confusion matrix, the model achieves efficient identification of road potholes. Data preprocessing includes cleaning, normalization, and augmentation to enhance the model's generalization capability. The AlexNet model extracts image features through multiple convolutional and pooling layers and classifies them using fully connected layers. Dropout technique randomly discards some neurons during the training process to effectively prevent overfitting. Model evaluation employs a confusion matrix and various classification metrics, including precision, accuracy, recall, specificity, F1 score, and AUC value. Experimental results show that the model exhibits an accuracy rate of over 93% and high generalization capability across different datasets, demonstrating the effectiveness and practicality of the model in road pothole detection. © 2024 ieee.

In an era of rapid technological evolution and security advancements, integrating access control mechanisms into daily security systems has become expedient. There is a growing need to enhance security and operational efficiency in controlling access to restricted areas by utilizing advanced access control mechanisms. In this research, a Gate automation System that implements License Plate Recognition (LPR), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), biometric scanners, and Mobile phone technology was designed and demonstrated. The development process followed an iterative approach, involving prototyping, simulations, testing, and refinement to ensure system reliability, responsiveness, and robustness. The system featured a user-friendly web application that served as the primary interface for security personnel to monitor and control access to the premises through the gate. The gate automation system integrated multiple access control mechanisms and offered secure and convenient entry options. For the LPR subsystem, we implemented a network IP camera that received images from the environment and processed the images through a Python code designed to detect license plates in real-time. The methodology involved designing a network of sensors and access control devices, managed by a centralized software platform employing machine learning algorithms for threat detection and system optimization. The Results showed a significant reduction in unauthorized access incidents and improved processing times for authorized entries. The findings suggest that implementing such automation systems can substantially enhance access-controlled environments' security efficiency and safety. © 2024 ieee.

In response to the low performance of component recognition algorithms in the complex environment of guiding roller production workshops, a YOLOv5-SE target recognition algorithm based on attention mechanism is proposed. Firstly, the algorithm is based on the YOLOv5 network structure and, using a self-built guiding roller component dataset, data augmentation is performed through methods such as Gaussian blur and contrast enhancement. Secondly, a channel attention mechanism is added to the network's Backbone to learn weights for each channel, improving the network's feature extraction capability. Finally, by replacing CIoU Loss with Shape-IoU Loss to improve the classifier's loss function, the algorithm enhances boundary box regression rates while improving target localization accuracy and model convergence speed. Experimental results show that the detection accuracy of each component in the improved algorithm is 89.3%, which is 3.7% higher in average precision (mAP) compared to the previous algorithm. © 2024 ieee.

This paper proposes a fault diagnosis method based on Multi-modal Attention Feature Fusion (MMAFF). Firstly, a multi-modal processing strategy is introduced, converting one-dimensional vibration signals into two-dimensional image modalities, and extracting features from both signal and image channels. Secondly, the attention mechanism is introduced to integrate the dual path features. Then, the diagnosis framework is obtained through an improved residual block. Finally, the method is tested on the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) rolling bearing dataset, and cross-condition comparison experiments demonstrate that the proposed method (MMAFF) exhibits good recognition capabilities under different working conditions. © 2024 ieee.
