The quasi-static gait is a common walking strategy for legged robots. It can make the legged robots adapt to many structured terrains. Many researchers focus on the quasi-static gait for Quadruped Robots which show great efficiency and simplicity. But when applied to biped robots, the stability analysis and the gait planning are still two challenging issues. This paper focuses on the quasi-static gait for biped walking. A novel gait with the sinusoidal movement of the center of gravity is proposed to achieve smooth and fast quasi-static walking. Based on the relationship of ZMP and COG, we proposed a stability criterion for quasi-static walking and a method that adjusts the parameters of the walking pattern to achieve fast walking. The proposed method is validated by simulation analysis in VREP software. The results show that biped robots can have well-performed on flat ground.

The application of intelligent automation technology is crucial in environmental sustainability, notably in the agricultural sector to improve food security and combat hunger. This paper examined several cutting-edge technology advancements in autonomous agricultural equipment, including GPS-enabled tractors, GPS-based remote-controlled robots, drone farming, intelligent poultry farms, and intelligent greenhouses. Precision farming, remote troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair, as well as the possible loss of agricultural labor employment, are some of the effects of smart automation technologies on agriculture that are also *** sensors, autonomous machines, actuating devices, new information technology, and mechatronic systems can all be integrated into farming to produce high-precision farming with little waste and increased production. With everything considered, the application of smart automation technology in agriculture has the potential to greatly increase production and environmental sustainability while addressing the problem of food security. Artificial neural networks (ANNs), fuzzy logic, and neuro-fuzzy approaches are among the computational intelligence techniques that are becoming increasingly crucial for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of mechatronic systems for environmental sustainability, notably in water management. In tasks including forecasting water demand, estimating water quality, and optimizing irrigation schedules, ANNs have shown potential. In conclusion, the adoption of smart automation technologies and computational intelligence in mechatronic systems is essential for improving environmental stability. The integration of these technologies can lead to significant improvements in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability. © 2024 ieee.

This research work demonstrates a smart agricultural automation and surveillance system utilizing an ESP8266 microcontroller. The system combines data for monitoring external variables such heat, light, and water in the soil with data-from OpenWeatherMaps API-for the purposes of automation of irrigation. The use of a Wi-Fi enabled web interface gives a graphical view of temperature, soil moisture, weather condition, pump status, and watering history in real time. The pump is controlled based on predefined conditions to achieve maximum water efficiency and good plant condition. This low-cost, scalable solution applies to smaller-scale irrigation hubs with highlights in automation and resource efficiency. © 2025 ieee.

While controllers for modern robots often appear to users as monolithic black-boxes, approaches exist to write custom controllers and tune them with tools from community based frameworks. Using ROS2 as such a framework, single components and parameters can be exchanged and customized easily. Especially in research institutions but also in industrial environments this framework is used increasingly to fulfill the demanding requirements of robotic control. While ROS1 had no real-time capable method of communication, ROS2 promises to give this advantage. Matching the trend to use many distributed, specialized and small systems instead of one higly system-specific, inflexible system, this study assesses tuning of DDS parameters in order to improve communication speed.

The laws of physics are usually stated using mathematical equations, allowing us to accurately map a given physical system to its response. However, when building systems, we are often faced with the inverse problem: How should we design a physical system that produces a target response? In this paper, we present a novel algorithm, called FastPivot, for solving such inverse problems. FastPivot starts with a system state and invokes alternating forward and backward passes through the system variables. In a forward pass, it leads the current state of the system to its response. In the subsequent backward pass, a small amount of information is allowed to percolate from the target response back to the system variables. FastPivot produces good quality solutions efficiently. We demonstrate the promise of FastPivot on the inverse problem of placing atoms in a bounded region using a scanning tunneling microscope to achieve target responses in the density of states. We also compare FastPivot to Monte Carlo methods and analyze various empirical observations.

Substation plays an important role in power system As the key electrical isolation component in substation, the state of insulator is directly related to the safe operation of power grid In order to improve the inspection efficiency and safety of substation insulators, this paper presents a substation insulator inspection robot system based on ResNet18 model in order to improve the inspection efficiency and safety of substation insulators The system consists of visual inspection module, navigation module and main control system The visual inspection module adopts Hi3516 visual identification terminal to accurately inspect insulators;The navigation module uses lidar and Rising Sun X3 to collect map data and SLAM algorithm to realize accurate positioning and path planning;The main control system takes STM32 core board as the center and is responsible for motor control network communication and other tasks In addition, a man-machine interface is designed to display the inspection status and inspection results of the robot in real time Experiments show that the system has high accuracy and robustness in practical application, which provides technical support for automatic inspection of insulators in substations. © 2024 ieee.

This paper proposes an agricultural resource integration way founded on network big data. The method aims to construct a standard system of acquiring and integrating agricultural resource data through heterogeneous data fusion technology. It involves the acquisition of multicompound heterogeneous agricultural resource data, changing their pattern and structure, classifying them, coding then saving them in a three ranks military band agriculture resources database. By putting up an agricultural resource data acquisition and sharing model, this approach seeks to enable key agriculturists details being integrated within one management platform for effective utilization, cost savings, centralised updates and maintenance, improved data quality as well as enhanced sharing. In view of these and other problems such as fragmentation, lack of mobility, inadequate sharing, poor quality of information, data under-utilization, delayed release of information etc., this method contributes to the best use and development of the agricultural resource information. © 2024 ieee.

This paper addresses a type of rendezvous recharging problem involving a team of unmanned aerial and ground vehicles (UAVs, UGVs). UAVs are tasked with long-term surveillance and reactivity to events over a wide area, but are subject to energy constraints limiting their operation. UGVs can support UAVs by replenishing their battery via docking. The presented problem is a generalization of well-known NP-Hard problems in vehicle routing. We present a multi-level framework that decouples the challenging problem into smaller sub-problems for solving. The resulting framework is one that interleaves planning and execution for a team of vehicles, allowing for long-term operation and reactivity. We also present simulation results to validate our proposed approach.

To improve care quality and efficiency of proton therapy systems, the facility has options to upgrade proton accelerator. However, operating a proton therapy facility is complex, and thus it is not obvious to see if an upgrade is necessary and to what level a facility should be upgraded to better serve patients. This study aims to explore the relationship between accelerator upgrade and system level performance. The time of each proton therapy procedure was collected from the proton therapy practice at Mayo Clinic and applied to a simulation model. The current state of 4-gantry proton therapy system was taken as a baseline, and different upgrade options were evaluated. It suggested that a small dose rate increase could achieve a significant system improvement in terms of patient throughput and beam wait time. Besides, the necessity of accelerator upgrade for 3-gantry and 2-gantry proton therapy systems was studied. The improvement of accelerator upgrade for systems with less gantries was mainly demonstrated by decrease of finish time. This study can help a proton beam facility make a proper upgrade decision.

On the one hand, with the development of high-performance computing technology, heterogeneous parallel computing has attracted widespread attention for its ability to match different parts of algorithms with computing resources, thereby providing more powerful computational performance. On the other hand, automation in grid generation and high-performance computing are of utmost concern in the Auto-CFD field;previous studies on the tie-dye algorithm have proven its suitability for Auto-CFD from theoretical and homogeneous parallel computing perspectives. Applying the tie-dye algorithm in actual engineering fields necessitates research on heterogeneous parallel tie-dye algorithms. Given the uniqueness of the tie-dye algorithm, comprehensive development from the ground up is required. By parallelizing the data structure, designing data area division and data transmission modes, optimizing kernel functions, and integrating advanced programming frameworks such as Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) and Message Passing Interface (MPI), the Multi-DCU Heterogeneous Parallel Tie-Dye (MHPT) algorithm is proposed to achieve enhanced computational efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the MHPT algorithm. Compared to traditional methods, the MHPT algorithm achieves a speedup of over 80% when handling tens of millions of grid generation and flow field computation tasks. The weak scalability of the multi-DCU system under tens of millions of grids exceeds 82%. Compared to homogeneous parallel computing, its average computation time is reduced by more than 50%. © 2024 ieee.
