The performance and energy efficiency potential of heterogeneous architectures has fueled domain-specific systems-on-chip (DSSoCs) that integrate general-purpose and domain-specialized hardware accelerators. Decision trees (DTs) perform high-quality, low-latency task scheduling to utilize the massive parallelism and heterogeneity in DSSoCs effectively. However, offline trained DT scheduling policies can quickly become ineffective when applications or hardware configurations change. There is a critical need for runtime techniques to train DTs incrementally without sacrificing accuracy since current training approaches have large memory and computational power requirements. To address this need, we propose INDENT, an incremental online DT framework to update the scheduling policy and adapt it to unseen scenarios. INDENT updates DT schedulers at runtime using only 1-8% of the original training data embedded during training. Thorough evaluations with hardware platforms and DSSoC simulators demonstrate that INDENT performs within 5% of a DT trained from scratch using the entire dataset and outperforms current state-of-the-art approaches.

This paper presents the design and outcomes of SketchPath, a system that uses hand-drawn toolpaths to design for clay 3D printing. Drawing, as a direct manipulation technique, allows artists to design with the expressiveness of CAM-based tools without needing to work with a numerical system or constrained system. SketchPath works to provide artists with direct control over the outcomes of their form by not abstracting away machine operations or constraining the kinds of artifacts that can be produced. Artifacts produced with SketchPath emerge at a unique intersection of manual qualities and machine precision, creating works that blend handmade and machine aesthetics. In interactions with our system, ceramicists without a background in CAD/CAM were able to produce more complex forms with limited training, suggesting the future of CAM-based fabrication design can take on a wider range of modalities.

Aircraft attitude has always been an important technical parameter during flights, especially for stages such as aircraft take-off and landing. This article presents a monocular off-board vision system for relative attitude measurement of fixed-wing aircraft. In this system, a zoom imaging subsystem is set up to track and shoot the aircraft over a large distance range. Image sequences and corresponding servo data are transmitted to the processing computer for vision algorithms. A model-based attitude tracking algorithm, which requires the computer-aideddesign model of the aircraft, is performed to measure the relative attitude of the aircraft with respect to the reference platform. A 2-D visual tracking algorithm and a target detection algorithm are also employed to control the vision system. The proposed attitude tracking algorithm achieves competitive results on a publicly available dataset. The full system is validated in a real-flight experiment. The results revealed that the proposed system can run in real time on 1920 x 1080@40 Hz videos with an accuracy better than 0.5 degrees.

PID controllers are crucial for regulating various process variables such as temperature, flow, pressure, and speed in industrial controlsystems. Therefore, this paper aims to design and implement the real-time FPGA-based PI/PID controller, which is complex regarding memory issues, accuracy, resource utilization, and energy consumption. Thus, this research uses Matlab's hybridized fixed- and floating-point approach to design the module Xilinx Vivado. The proposed design is realized on a Zynq-7000 FPGA board, and the results of the PI/PID controller implemented on the FPGA Zynq-7000 board model are stimulated. system generator tools are used to generate the hardware description language code. The Xilinx Vivado tool checks the module's device utilization, timing analysis, and power consumption. The performance is improved in terms of dynamic range, speed, unlimited use of resources, efficiency, and less energy consumption.
