Drones have been widely used in many applications in recent years. We have designed a drone specifically for the police and security guards. Our drone has the following features: First, all drones are connected to a server using IoT technology, and users can easily control drones with a keyboard. Second, a siren is installed at the bottom of the drone to warn criminals. Third, the drone can be equipped with four cameras to provide panoramic video streaming. All the components are off-the-shelf or 3D printable. The drones are called Guardian Drones. © 2023 ieee.

Keyword spotting (KWS) processors have been proposed and used in voice-control applications such as smart homes, intelligent robots and smart wearables, as shown in Fig. 14.8.1. Existing KWS processors have the following issues: 1) they are sensitive to human-voice noise (e.g., nearby individuals talking, TV or radio), which affects their accuracy in real-life applications;2) they do not sufficiently exploit domain-specific features for energy reduction and accuracy improvement;3) they do not support multiuser speaker verification (SV) free of speaker-specific training. To address these issues, in this work, we have proposed a high accuracy and ultra-energy-efficient KWS & SV processor (named KASP) with the following features: 1) a dynamically reconfigurable KWS & SV processing architecture supporting KWS-driven adaptive direction of arrival (DoA) estimation and beamforming to improve the accuracy in the presence of human-voice noise;2) an adaptive DoA frequency-channel selection technique and a lightweight frequency-domain beamforming (Lite-FDBF) technique to reduce the energy consumption and hardware overhead;3) a four-stage progressive wake-up processing architecture with KWS-aware adaptive voice-activity detection (VAD) to reduce energy consumption and improve the accuracy under different SNR;4) a lightweight X-Vector (Lite-X-Vector)-based SV for multi-user speaker verification with low energy consumption free of speaker training. © 2024 ieee.

The research conducted in this study focuses on examining the viability of renewable energy sources as an alternative means of generating electricity in off-grid areas. This study demonstrates the optimal design of a photovoltaic (PV) drip irrigation system, emphasizing key considerations for tailoring the system to a specific geographic location. The design involves calculations of motor power, solar irradiance, and meteorological factors. A simulation study assesses potential power generation by optimizing tilt angles and orientations of PV modules, accounting for monthly and annual variations, overall shading, and internal shading used between component rows. The water pump and motor are selected based on the water table depth, intended discharge, and head for effective irrigation. The paper introduces a solar-powered portable water pump (SPWP) for a smart irrigation system. The system oversees and manages the water pump using Arduino, moisture sensors, and floating sensors. A user-friendly LCD takes center stage, prominently featuring a counter for automatic pump activations. This counter is specifically linked to the float sensor, which triggers the pump to fill the tank during automatic mode. Each activation increments the counter, giving users a clear count of automatic pump operations. The pump is powered by a solar panel, contributing to energy efficiency and reduced operational costs. Integration of portable water pump usage efficiency enables convenient and real-time monitoring and control. The system has undergone practical testing in a real-world setting, affirming its performance and validating its efficacy in enhancing agricultural operations. © 2024 ieee.

This paper describes four quadrant speed control of SRM with online turn ON angle control. A speed PI controller and a current PI controller are used for the purpose. Online turn ON control has also been implemented that adjusts the turn ON angle according to the torque demand and speed, it uses reference current, speed, and DC link voltage to do so. A logic has been developed to determine in which quadrant the motor should be running based on actual speed and reference speed, and it is used to decide whether the winding should be excited on increasing slope or decreasing slope. With the help of this control strategy the motor can track the speed reference in all four quadrants. This method is experimentally verified on 8/6 SRM using an asymmetrical bridge converter to power the SRM and dSPACE controller board. This technique can be used for low performance applications. © 2023 ieee.

Interface design evaluation is part of human-computer interaction. The focus of this research is to carry out a heuristic evaluation on the interface design of an online learning application, namely Microsoft Teams, to determine the extent to which the application meets the usability concept of interface design. Microsoft Teams is an application that is the choice of many universities in Indonesia to provide online learning. Microsoft Teams can be accessed by students, course lecturers and Digital Learning Subdivision units (the team that manages e-leaning). This research uses a heuristic evaluation method which includes several usability principles such as Jacob Nielsen's ten principles of usability. To facilitate evaluation of the user interface, this research combines heuristic checklists and severity ratings. Severity ratings are associated with problems that arise and have varying levels of seriousness. There are 5 (five) value categories in severity ratings, starting from 0 (cosmetic), which means there is no problem, up to 4 (critical), which means it is very important to fix the problem and is a top priority. This research involving 7 evaluators consisting of IT admins and lecturers who will carry out assessments by filling in a heuristic checklist. The stages of research activities carried out include 6 stages consisting of: preparation, problem formulation, method selection, evaluation using the hueristic evaluation method, discussion of results and preparation of recommendations for improvement. The results obtained were that there were 109 problems in ten heuristic principles, most of which were in the minor category and needed to be corrected in the principles of system status visibility, user control and freedom principles, error prevention principles, and assistance and documentation principles in Microsoft Teams. © 2024 ieee.

This paper provides an overview of several popular scheduling algorithms applied by researchers, offering insights into their methodologies through a comparative analysis. We explore the different parameters used and their impact on algorithm performance. Additionally, we delve into the advantages and drawbacks associated with each algorithm, illuminating their strengths and weaknesses. In conclusion, we discuss potential future directions, aiming to identify areas for improvement and innovation in the selection and optimization of scheduling algorithms. © 2023 ieee.

Wearable robots have become increasingly significant in rehabilitation treatments aimed at improving patients suffering from walking gait abnormalities. The effectiveness of these robots depends on their ability to accurately track trajectories. This paper proposes a hybrid technique for tuning a PID controller in a wearable lower limb rehabilitation robot (WLLR). The combination of GA and PSO, termed HGAPSO, is utilized to acquire PID parameters for the hip and knee joints, with the aim of minimizing overshoot and tracking error. Notably, the percentage overshoot recorded by HGAPSO for the hip and knee is superior to that of conventional ZN, GA, and PSO methods, with percentages of 4.9% and 0.42%, respectively. Furthermore, the maximum error (ME) and average error (AE) between desired and actual trajectories recorded for a range of motion (ROM) and walking conditions do not exceed 0.05, which are deemed acceptable errors. The maximum root mean square error (RMSE) recorded for both ROM and walking conditions is 0.028 and 0.043, respectively. Additionally, the coefficient of determination (R2) for both conditions is more than 99%, indicating a close fit between desired and actual trajectories under various conditions. © 2024 ieee.

The concept of Agentic AI, which focuses on empowering autonomous systems with human-like decision-making capabilities, has gained substantial attention in recent years. By leveraging advanced reinforcement learning (RL) techniques and cognitive frameworks, Agentic AI aims to enable machines to make complex decisions in dynamic environments with minimal human intervention. This paper introduces Agentic AI, a novel approach that combines Quantum Reinforcement Learning (QRL) and Cognitive Neuromorphic Frameworks to empower autonomous decision-making in complex environments. The proposed model leverages quantum computing principles to accelerate learning in reinforcement-based systems, while cognitive neuromorphic frameworks enhance adaptability and real-time decision-making by mimicking human brain functionality. The integration of QRL allows for faster convergence in learning algorithms, improving decision accuracy by 25% and reducing training time by 40%. Cognitive neuromorphic architectures offer enhanced scalability and resilience in dynamic environments, resulting in a 35% improvement in system robustness during testing. Simulations in autonomous navigation and robotic control show that Agentic AI achieves 20% more efficient task execution compared to traditional AI models. These values underscore the potential of the proposed system to revolutionize autonomous systems, providing a robust foundation for decision-making across a range of applications. © 2024 ieee.

This research study proposes a smart system designed to enhance solar energy utilization while protecting solar panels from adverse weather conditions, particularly during rainfall. This system is designed to automatically charge a battery during sunny conditions and, when rain is detected, it triggers a protective mechanism to cover the solar panels and produce energy from the rain drops which are falling on the piezoelectric grid. This helps to prevent damage and extend the lifespan of the solar panels. The system uses environmental sensors, especially a piezoelectric sensor, in order to continuously monitor the weather. When the rainfall is detected, it sends a signal to the control unit, which immediately activates the protective cover to shield the panels. On sunny days, the system focuses on efficiently charging a battery with the solar energy collected, making sure energy is stored for later use. In addition to protecting the solar panels, the system also optimizes energy usage. It offers a reliable solution for solar energy management by combining renewable energy collection with real time weather protection making it suitable for residential, commercial and industrial applications. The system not only improves the efficiency of renewable energy but also supports the sustainability of solar infrastructure. © 2025 ieee.

In collaborative robot systems, ensuring operator safety is crucial. This responsibility falls on robot integrators who must identify potential risks and design safety measures to prevent unwanted accidental contact with human operators. The ISO/TS 15066 guideline's Power and Force Limiting mode is instrumental in managing such incidents. This study explored the effectiveness of two control strategies, Sliding Mode control and Computational Torque control, within the framework of a six degrees of freedom robot manipulator, considering the design requirements of the power and force limiting mode. Simulation results showed that in the presence of external disturbances, Sliding Mode controller outperformed in terms of response time, stability, and position tracking, making it more suitable for safety-focused applications in shared workspaces. © 2023 ieee.
