Lithium Ion (Li-ion) cells are strong choices for energy storage within grid systems, balancing renewable supply and demand. Li-ion cells can have high durability and long lifetimes. They offer high durability and long lifespans but experience complex electrochemical and mechanical degradation that affects performance and control calibration. Key ageing mechanisms include electrode surface layer formation, lithium deposition, electrolyte deterioration, and damage to electrodes and current collectors. These mechanisms depend on electrode chemistry and usage conditions. It is essential to consider them when designing battery packs, selecting cell chemistry, and planning thermal management. The complex non-linear changes in cell behaviour must also be considered during usage. control systems must account for complex, condition-based changes in cell behaviour, requiring sophisticated modelling and analysis of ageing effects to optimize the trade-off between usage and depreciation. This paper explains Li-ion cell ageing and its consequences in the context of stationary storage applications. © 2024 ieee.

When using Flutter, creating multi-platform native applications is economical. Because Flutter apps are instantly converted into native code, developers think security is not a major concern. Flutter apps, like many other common mobile apps, are susceptible to security issues. When utilised in hostile environments, applications created using Flutter are vulnerable to manipulation and dynamic attacks. Hackers skilled in reverse engineering binaries can easily take advantage of security holes in Flutter apps. Comprehensive security mechanisms, such as runtime detections to discover changes or manipulation, are needed to protect Flutter apps. Even though Flutter has grown to be a popular framework among developers, creating apps without the right security precautions could have disastrous implications on the company. In this article, we will examine security practices that are currently in use or that may be applied in Flutter, as well as tools and approaches for protecting our apps. We will also study future upgrades to Flutter application security. © 2023 ieee.

In recent times, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is adopted in Indian banking sector in areas such as customer lending services, fraud risk and credit risk management. However, AI usage in banks face issues with respect to lack of governance and business strategy, along with fragmented IT systems, sub-optimal core technology, outdated operating models, lack of strategy in talent management, which are the core challenges in Indian banking system for AI adoption. Indian banks have augmented application of AI in varied scales but has no uniformity is its usage. Historical data, statistical models, and expert judgment gave the framework for credit risk assessment. With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, Credit risk has become an important component of banking risk. In the wake of this scenario, the present study attempts to explore how Indian banks are using AL & ML in their credit risk management practices. The objective of the paper is to identify the various purposes of the use of AI in Indian banks. The study used secondary data sources of select Indian commercial banks to highlight the potential usage of AI and the findings reveal that banks are at different stages of employing AI-based technological applications in credit risk management. Banks encounter challenges such as, lack of governance drive for AI and ML adoption and majorly fail to disclose their annual budget plans for AI and ML. Valuable insights have been evolved through this study that would help the banks, policy makers, government and customers at large to understand the current status of the use of AI, its applications, challenges and opportunities proving that there is a need for quality checks on the data used by banks and rationalization of AI models through a technical certification process. © 2024 ieee.

Medicinal plants have been utilized since ancient times as a treatment and prevention of disease. Some of Hoya species possess medicinal properties and has been used traditionally by some tribes of Indonesia and other South East Asian as well as in Asia Pacific region. Extraction from Hoya leaves provides therapeutic properties and a healing effects. This study focuses on identifying and distinguishing various medicinal Hoya species from each other, recognizing that all species in the dataset have known medicinal properties. However, there are some similarities in leaf shape between Hoya species. The purpose of this research is to design an identification system specifically for Hoya species with medicinal properties using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This study aims to build a CNN model by comparing the VGG16 (Visual Geometry Group 16) and MobileNetV2 architectures. The dataset we used consists of Hoya species that are known for their bioactive properties and medicinal benefits. Hoya plant images were obtained from the RIN Dataverse, BRIN, comprising five different types of Hoya, including Hoya diversifolia, Hoya finlaysonii, Hoya imbricata, Hoya latifolia, and Hoya verticillata. The total number of images from these five species is 71. The designed model is able to identify medicinal Hoya plants based on leaf images, achieving a testing accuracy of 80% using the MobileNetV2 and VGG16 reached 53.33%. © 2024 ieee.

Satoshi Nakamoto invented blockchain technology in 2008. This cutting-edge characteristic of technology has given rise to intriguing notions and themes that developers and researchers can use in their work. Transactions in blocks were decentralized, immutable and digital. The blockchain is a chain of connected blocks created using cryptography and hashing techniques. The purpose of blockchain technology is to store and improve the value of data. Blockchain can store important information in blocks. It improves productivity in industries by utilizing Blockchain technique in a wide range of applications. Peer-to-peer networks are a type of network that helps with data storage. The blockchain technology has a real-time updating feature to keep the records of data up to date and consistent. This analysis started with a look at some of the most popular blockchain applications. Nowadays, the focus is on portable, non-invasive devices with a variety of functions, such as continuous monitoring through smartwatches or biologic signal-controlled prosthetic limb control. The signal acquisition and processing steps are the underlying principles behind all of these applications. This study proposes a low-budget Arduino-based acquisition system for recording forearm surface electromyography signals, which are then analyzed using Matlab software. The signals are recorded from four right-handed healthy individuals, following an established protocol consisting of ten 30 -second recordings per hand, with movements that alternate between five seconds of contraction and five seconds of relaxation. The classification results are then achieved by processing the data using the Support Vector Machine algorithm and GridSearch. There are four experiments conducted. The first one distinguishes between contraction and relaxation, then three additional experiments are performed following the same procedure (discriminations between gender, hand, gender and hand). Subsequently, a graphical user interface is designed to display the uploaded signal together with some details about the patients, the experiment, and the classification outcomes. The results achieved with the Arduino microcontroller are confirmed by performing the same steps using the Biopac system and comparing the outcomes in terms of metrics. © 2024 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic Systems, Poznan University of technology (DSPES PUT).

Protheses are very useful for limb amputees to restore their lost motor functions. However, most commercially available prostheses lack an intuitive and natural sensory feedback function, which may strongly limit the performance of prosthetic control and lowers the acceptance of amputees. As a non-invasive stimulation method, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) has been proven to effectively evoke intuitive and natural sensations, which is practical for upper-limb amputees in clinical applications. In this paper, we explored the relationship between TENS modalities and induced sensory information based on able-bodied subjects by using electroencephalogram (EEG). We computed the Event-related Potential (ERP) and Brain Electrical Activity Mapping (BEAM) to evaluate the performance of sensation evoking. The results demonstrated that the TENS applied on wrist areas with proper parameters could stably induce multiple types of intuitive sensations of different fingers, including touching, vibrating, and flapping, and the mapping relationship between stimulation modality and sensory feedback were objectively verified and evaluated with EEG. This pilot study might provide a support for future researches on restoration of sensory paths and feedback for upper-limb amputees. © 2023 ieee.

A small signal stability assessment method based on support vector regression (SVR) and a small signal stability preventive control method based on SVR sensitivity analysis are presented in the paper, to improve the analysis speed of small signal stability preventive control. First, damping ratio prediction SVR models of low frequency oscillation mode for small signal stability are trained offline and the optimum parameters are obtained by grid searching and 5-fold cross validation. During the process of online application, the trained SVR models are used to predict the damping ratios of the concerned low frequency oscillation modes. When one of the predicted damping ratios is less than a certain threshold, it is determined as a poor or negative damping mode, and then small signal stability preventive control is started. In the process of preventive control, for poor or negative damping low frequency oscillation modes, the sensitivities of the damping ratios with respect to the control variables (the active power of controllable generators) based on SVR model are calculated and then the control amounts of generator active power are obtained by solving an optimization model. Multiple iterations are needed to make the damping ratios meet specific requirements. Case analysis results show that the effective control measures can be obtained by the presented method and the computing speed is faster than the traditional eigenvalue analysis method. © 2023 ieee.

The medium frequency inverter power supply (usually 400 Hz) can effectively reduce the size and weight of passive components. Therefore, it is widely used in airplanes, ships and other fields that require high power density. These fields usually have higher requirements on the quality of the output voltage waveform. For example, it is necessary to meet the voltage requirements of unbalanced or nonlinear loads and the smooth transition when the load changes suddenly. Compared with the line frequency inverter, the number of output pulses in one fundamental cycle of the medium frequency inverter (take 400 Hz as an example) is 1/8 of that. Under the same switching frequency, the number of switching in each fundamental wave cycle is reduced. Therefore, the sampling, calculation, filtering and sampling delay of the PWM in the digital control all affect the design of the controller. These cause the control of the system to be difficult. In this paper, a hybrid control is proposed. The method can ensure the high quality of the three-phase output voltage waveform of the inverter under unbalanced or nonlinear loads, and alleviate the voltage fluctuation when the load changes suddenly. The effectiveness of the method is verified by simulation. © 2023 ieee.

The research presents that the Stream control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) provides a very interesting alternative to classical TCP and UDP, especially in multihoming settings. We therefore specifically sought to test SCTP's performance in multihoming scenarios within 5G networks and compare its reliability to TCP and UDP under various Network Address Translation (NAT) settings through complete simulations. We took care to focus on the important performance metrics of throughput, latency, packet loss, and connection stability. The ability of multihoming with SCTP, where a single SCTP endpoint can support several IP addresses, was also tested. In the context that devices will be able to have more than one network interface, this feature is welcomed in 5G networks. An empirical investigation revealed that in NAT settings, while TCP and UDP see higher packet loss and more delay, SCTP maintains a more reliable connection. The as much as needed ultra-reliable and low-latency communications transport protocol for 5G must be very stable. For example, applications such as online gaming, video conferencing, and major IoT operations will be relying on this new network. This paper has specifically emphasized the potential that SCTP's multihoming feature and improved performance metrics hold for 5G networks. This means that SCTP should be recommended to increase network stability and enhance performance, based on the results presented here that have indicated its great potential. Further research will be done on enhancing SCTP for specific 5G use cases under different deployment scenarios and investigating its integration with promising new technologies like edge computing and network slicing. © 2024 ieee.
