Due to the rising use of renewable energy sources, anomalies like faults and an unbalanced load change the voltage profile, impair the quality of the power, and alter the demand for reactive power, which also changes the overall operational environment of the current distribution system. STATCOM is used effectively to overcome these drawbacks, but convectional STATCOM performs poorly in the presence of severe faults. As a result of recent advancements, the modular multilevel converter-based M-STATCOM is becoming more popular as a solution for this issue, but it requires an advanced control mechanism to perform well. Considering this, a double star cascaded modular multilevel converter-based on ANFIS-SSD tuned intelligent control for STATCOM is suggested in order to reduce voltage sag, compensate for reactive power, and improve power quality in the presence of severe faults. Simulation analysis using MATLAB and Simulink under Single to Ground Fault confirms the performance and efficacy of the proposed MMC STATCOM. Based on the results, having decreased the single line to ground fault THD from 80% to 0.1%, the system responded efficiently. © 2023 ieee.

Recently, secure data deletion or data sanitization has been identified as a key technology of storage devices to securely delete obsolete sensitive data that are no longer used. However, secure data deletion requires extra management efforts on flash memory storage devices, due to the deferred reclamation of flash blocks in many flash translation layer schemes. The emerging zoned namespace storage further exacerbates the design complexity of secure data deletion, due to the much larger size of a zone than that of a flash block. Concerning the very long latency to reset an entire zone, once some data have been written into a zone, it is very difficult to securely delete them from the zone. To achieve efficient and secure data deletion on zoned namespace storage, we propose persistence relaxation for efficient and secure sanitization (PRESS), which considers the working principle of zones of zoned namespace storage and allows the fine-grained control of deferred data persistence. As a result, applications can efficiently delete their recently written data or make the data persistent for long-term storage. Our proposal, PRESS, is evaluated through a series of experimental studies, where the results are quite encouraging. © 2024 ieee.

In this work, a follow-up study of estimating optimal operating points by an improved parameter-based model of three-phase induction machines (IMs) is conducted and presented. The main objective is to examine the representation of IMs' parameters within a specified operating boundary. The paper begins by reviewing the theory behind the inverse Gamma-form model (IGFM) and maximum torque control. This review serves as a foundation for developing methods for estimating operating points. Finally, the study compares the results obtained using a 2D electromagnetic finite element method (FEM) model of a 15kW IM with those derived using a parameter-based model obtained through the conventional method, demonstrating the practical utility of the improved parameter-based model. © 2023 ieee.

Wireless radio-frequency integrated chip (RFIC) frontend was investigated for ultra-wideband applications in this study. The wireless transceiver integration includes a power amplifier with a pre-distorter, bandpass filter, two mixers, and low noise amplifier with a balun in parallel and adjustable gain control (AGC). The RF throw radio (TR) switch circuit converted signals from an antenna using the same voltage-controlled oscillator as a local oscillator design. This design increased linearity conversion gain by 25 dB, output 1dB compression point (OP1dB), and 10 dBm and power added efficiency (PAE) to 12%. The promoted LNA exhibited the return loss of input by 21.1 dB, the return loss of output rising by 33.5, the behaved gain of 13.3 dB, the exhibited noise figure of 6 dB, the exhibited input 3rd order intercept point (IIP3) of 4.16 dBm, and the input 1dB compression point (IP1dB) of -11.5 dBm. The proposed AGC gained a tuning range from 13.3-1.4 dB and the noise figure tuning range from 6-10.83. The implemented 2.4GHz transceiver using CMOS technology relied on conditions and distances and concurrently complied with the wireless performance requirements of the Internet of Things (IoT). © 2023 ieee.

Multilevel inverters are commonly used for many applications including domestic, industries and special applications. Usually, multilevel inverters can be able to supply quality power to loads as compared with conventional inverters. Many configurations are existed for multilevel inverters;however, those are required more number of switches. More numbers of switches cause many issues at various applications of multilevel inverters. Therefore, a novel configuration is implemented in this paper which named as parallel inverter. The parallel inverters can be designed with fewer numbers of switches and very easy to operate. A new SVPWM technique is also implemented to control the parallel inverter in this paper. A novel control method for a 7 level parallel inverter is implemented in this paper. The proposed configuration is required only half numbers of switches as compared with existing multilevel configurations. Various results with realistic nature are adopted by developing Hardware-in the-Loop through OPAL-RT modules. Extensive results are examined under various case studies to enhance the significant of proposed method. © 2023 ieee.

Recently, a hybrid synchronization control (HSC) that integrates phase locked loop (PLL) into the power synchronization control (PSL) is proposed. Some research results have clarified the HSC-based has better transient stability performance. However, impacts of control parameters on the small-signal stability in an HSC-based grid-connected inverter system is unclear under different grid strengths, which is inconvenient to design of parameters. As a result, in this paper, a full-order state-space model of the HSC-based grid-connected inverter system is built. Furthermore, by using eigenvalues analysis method, influence laws of main control parameters on small-signal stability in the HSC-based grid-connected inverter system are revealed under different grid strengths. Finally, the correctness of theoretical analysis is verified by time-domain simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. This work is hoped to provide a design orientation of parameters in HSC-based inverters for maintaining expected margin of small-signal stability under different grid strengths. © 2023 ieee.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) promises to introduce flexibility and programmability into networks by offering developers a northbound interface (NBI) to create SDN applications. However, current designs and implementations have drawbacks, including the lack of Proper Standardization, controller-Lock-In Situation, and Loss of Compatibility with SDN applications. Using Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC) Application Programming Interface (API), the SDN controller can offer network resources, such as statistics, flow information, or topology data, to registered SDN applications. Furthermore, the gRPC enables controller-agnostic and language-agnostic development to enable proactive and reactive applications and services to interact with controller services. Transport Layer Security (TLS) enables confidentiality with encryption, authenticity with mutual authentication, and integrity with Message Authentication Code (MAC). Finally, Attribute-based Access control (ABAC) and Logging capability for controller services allow fine-grained access control and accountability enforcement to ensure the security goals of the NBI. This research paper provides a complete architecture to converge different Northbound API streams into one secure, language-agnostic, controller-agnostic API stream with the help of the gRPC framework. © 2023 ieee.

This paper presents an improved linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) technique. The concept of model order reduction is incorporated in the design of LADRC controllers for the simplification of complex higher order systems, leading to the ease of tuning, simplification of analysis and reduction in the number of controller and observer parameters. The corresponding generalized formulae are derived. The efficacy of the improved LADRC scheme is then demonstrated for the angular position control of a DC servo system by comparing the response with the internal model control technique. It is observed that the desired response specifications are achieved even when the lower order controller is used, thereby revealing the advantages of the proposed technique. Further, the proposed technique exhibits significant improvement in time response over the existing IMC technique. The simulation results provide a validation to the strength of the proposed technique. © 2022 ieee.

A path planning method based on a two-layer coordination system is proposed for the compatibility requirement of path planning global optimum and local coordination in a spherical multi-robot system. In the first layer of the algorithm, the global path quality is improved by proposing a nonlinear sine factor and a sparrow search algorithm with improved levy flight strategy to plan the global collision-free optimal path for each robot. In the second layer, a rolling window method is used to determine the possible collision positions of each robot in the system, and a priority-based conflict resolution strategy is proposed to complete the local coordination of the path near the corresponding position. The experimental results show that the path planning method enables the robots to drive along the global optimal path, but still can carry out flexible and orderly local path coordination, which effectively improves the path planning performance of the system. © 2023 ieee.

The paper proposes the concept of equipping measuring channels (MC), in particular, voltage ones, with built-in metrological self-checking systems (MSC), which use methods for determining the additive, multiplicative and nonlinear components of the MC error. The proposed concept is based on methods that require only one precision element - the calibration voltage source. At the same time, the MSC can be carried out during the operation of the MC. The presence of such systems enables a sharp increase in the accuracy and metrological reliability of MC, as well as a sharp decrease in the labour intensity of their metrological maintenance. © 2023 ieee.
