Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are widely used for various industrial applications such as robotics, industrial drives, solar water pumping. Thus, a lot of research on the various performance of PMSM motors are ongoing. Some of the research includes rotor configuration, torque ripple, control techniques of PMSM and their magnetic design. The stator slot configuration has significant impact on the performance parameters of PMSM motors. Most importantly the torque profile and stator winding currents are highly influenced by the structure of stator slot. There are few research works are available in the exiting literatures which discuss about the impact of stator slot orientation on motor performances. In this paper, the impact of various stator slot configurations has been investigated on PMSM motors in terms of torque ripple profile, solid loss and stator winding current along with its total harmonic distortion (THD). Using the Ansys maxwell software package, a couple of 2D and 3D numerical models are designed and investigated by changing the stator slot geometry of PMSM motors, and the resultant torques and stator currents are recorded. This analysis could be a promising solution to the industrial engineers while selecting PMSM motors based on suitable stator slot geometry for specific industrial applications. © 2023 ieee.

Everlasting Magnet Synchronous vehicles (PMSMs) are becoming increasingly famous in electric-powered power structures due to their great efficiency and overall performance traits. PMSMs are synchronous motors that use everlasting magnets to supply torque. They provide easy and coffee-cost control answers and can be used for a spread of programs along with electric-powered motors, domestic appliances, and commercial automation. PMSMs are, in particular, appealing to electric pressure system programs due to their better electricity density, higher efficiency, better velocity variety, and less complicated manipulation than different synchronous vehicles. The precept in the back of the PMSM is that the rotor, which contains everlasting magnets, interacts with the rotating magnetic area created via the stator windings. The stator windings are energized via an outside strength digital supply, and the ensuing alternating cutting-edge creates a magnetic area, which in flip produces torque on the rotor. This torque causes the rotor to rotate and produce mechanical power. The torque of the PMSM can be managed through various amplitudes and segments of the stator modern-day. This adaptability makes PMSMs perfect for use in variable-speed power applications consisting of electric automobiles. © 2024 ieee.

Currently, research on product assembly planning mostly focuses on the structure of the product, with little consideration given to the assembly resources of the product. This article designed a robot automated assembly system that combined intelligent algorithms and computer vision. Using a laboratory as the experimental platform, assembly experiments were conducted under various visual guidance conditions (independent guidance of binocular vision sensors, independent guidance of cross shaped structured light sensors, guidance after computer vision information fusion, and teaching guidance) to verify the practicality of this method. The experimental results showed that the accuracy obtained by computer vision information fusion guidance was the closest to that obtained by teaching guidance, and the highest error value of the robot in automatic assembly testing was 0.3. This article utilized computer vision technology to design assembly plans for products, improving the intelligence level of product assembly. © 2023 ieee.

New net-zero energy policies and the potential to improve the efficiency of existing buildings necessitate significant transformational action. Combining digitalisation and smart technologies can lay the groundwork for affordable, adaptable and close-to-market solutions. With this aim in mind, this paper presents a generic and replicable solution to increase the smartness of buildings, developed within the context of the Horizon Europe BuildON project. We introduce a Smart Transformer Toolbox, to facilitate the integration of heterogeneous systems, enable automation and control and unleash the potential of artificial intelligence in modelling and optimisation strategies. Employing both top-down and bottom-up approaches, the methodology identifies the problem, assesses constraints, and iteratively incorporates beneficial technologies. The solution includes simplified interfaces to bridge the gap between technology and end users, providing functionalities to continuously Monitor, Assess, Predict and Optimise (MAPO services) building performance while supporting informed decision-making. © 2024 ieee.

In the present day, thanks to intelligent technologies, it has become feasible to efficiently manage transport networks and optimize the flow of traffic in urban areas. Through the use of digital twins and traffic scenario simulations, traffic flow can be anticipated and refined, leading to improved mobility and reduced congestion and emissions. There are several traffic simulation tools and environments that can be installed locally and used for traffic simulation. However, due to various aspects such as online learning, user convenience, complex traffic scenarios or fast model and tool updates, web-based simulation can be beneficial. In this work, we proposed and developed a web application that uses similar technologies to simulate various traffic scenarios, allowing the monitoring of the efficiency of the proposed traffic network under different circumstances. In addition to visualizing the simulation, the implemented application allows users to actively intervene in its operation. Simulation control enables users to experiment with different configurations of the transport network and predict their impact on traffic flow. © 2023 ieee.

Smart Grid is closely integrated with new technologies such as the internet of things, advanced information communication technologies, sensor measurement, and automatic control technologies, including many smart devices. A smart meter is a key component of the smart grid. The data collected from the smart meter can be used to control and manage power grids. These data provide considerable benefits to the system operator and the consumers but raise issues related to the privacy of individual customer information. One method to provide differential privacy for individual customers is to add noise to the aggregated demand. However, noisy demand affects the optimality of the system. This article optimizes noise in demand reporting and calculates the additional system cost due to this noise. In addition, to distribute the extra cost among the customers fairly and equitably, the Shapley value method is used. The effect of line congestion on the privacy cost is also analysed and results shows that privacy cost is increased due to line congestion. © 2023 ieee.

In response to the increasing application of battery energy storage in frequency regulation of thermal power units, but its output control method is not perfect, this paper designs a comprehensive control strategy for secondary frequency regulation of thermal power units assisted by energy storage batteries based on the frequency characteristics of the power grid. Firstly, based on the control deviation (ACE) signal of the secondary frequency regulation area of the thermal power unit, considering the output characteristics of the energy storage battery and the unit, a Butterworth low-pass filter is designed to decompose the ACE signal into high-frequency and low-frequency signals, and allocate the high-frequency signal to the energy storage battery and low-frequency signal to the thermal power unit. Secondly, considering the state of charge (SOC) of the energy storage battery, the control strategy of the energy storage output is designed based on the Sigmoid function;And design frequency modulation intervals based on frequency characteristics to achieve coordinated operation of thermal power units and battery energy storage. Finally, a simulation model is built in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the control strategy through simulation. The results show that the control strategy proposed in this article can improve the frequency modulation effect and maintain a good state of SOC. © 2023 ieee.

This paper proposes a time-synchronised nonlinear active controller designed for synchronisation between nonidentical chaotic systems so that all the error states converge to zero simultaneously, and its Lyapunov stability analysis is given. Two-stage image encryption of a colour image is proposed based on the combination of the chaotic oscillator and diffusion algorithm. The designed diffusion algorithm is applied by shuffling the clockwise rotation of the image pixels. At the transmitter side, the Lorenz chaotic oscillator is used to generate the key for the image encryption process. The proposed controller is used at the receiver side to synchronise the Rössler chaotic oscillators at the receiver side with the Lorenz chaotic oscillator at the transmitter side. After synchronisation, the Rössler chaotic oscillator is used to generate the same key at the receiver side for the image decryption process. The ratio-persistent nature of the proposed controller converges all the error states to zero simultaneously. The fact that the encrypted image is perfectly compatible with the received image within synchronised settling time further demonstrates the effectiveness. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed time-synchronised controller through both theoretical and practical verification of picture encryption and decryption procedures. © 2023 ieee.

Manufacturers are now very interested in the motorization control of commercial Electric Vehicles (EVs). This paper describes an Induction Motor (IM) control methodology used in EV applications. Motor drive control is critical in EVs, and IM-based drives are better suited for EVs. For IM drives, there are essentially vector and scalar control techniques. Low performance is a disadvantage of the scalar control approach, but Direct Torque control (DTC) is an excellent approach for IM speed control by effectively controlling the torque and flux. The alternating current (AC) is taken as a source and connected to a rectifier circuit. However, the functioning of the Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) with variable switching frequency might be determined by the availability of hysteresis controls for torque and flux. The DTC-controlled IM drive is developed in MATLAB/ Simulink tool and the performance of the motor is evaluated by the obtained results. The motor's torque and speed response are examined. © 2023 ieee.
