This paper presents the stable and robust control of Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) with Active LC Low Pass Filter (LC-LPF) by IRM-ILQ (Inverse Reference Model - Inverse Linear Quadratic) method. The output voltages of PWM inverters, which used for motor driving contain harmonic components due to its switching. LC-LPF is effective to eliminate those harmonics though, it has two dynamics. Therefore, applying the IRM-ILQ method is necessary since they have two degrees of freedom and can control followability and robustness at the same time. In this paper, the stable and robust control has been confirmed by experiments.

This paper proposes four low power adder cells using different XOR and XNOR gate architectures. Two sets of circuit designs are presented. One implements full adders with 3 transistors (3-T) XOR and XNOR gates. The other applies Gate-Diffusion-Input (GDI) technique to full adders. Simulations are performed by using Hspice based on 180nm CMOS technology. In comparison with Static Energy Recovery Full (SERF) adder cell module, the proposed four full adder cells demonstrate their advantages, including lower power consumption, smaller area, and higher speed.

This paper focuses on analyzing the performance of sensor fusion models for a brake pedal in electromechanical braking (EMB) systems. To properly control a brake, a signal obtained from a pedal is important and must be stable. Sensor fusion models can be used to make the pedal signal more stable and resilient against the abnormalities. In this work, a pedal sensor and a pedal effort sensor are exploited for the sensor fusion to control the brake. Then, we analyze the performance of each fusion model (e.g., average method, moving average method, median filter, iterative filter, and Marzullo's algorithm) in various fault scenarios. We propose the hybrid method using multiple models to have the better resiliency and to detect the faulty sensor as well. For the practical experiments, we employ the real measurement data set obtained from a vehicle at different speeds. Then, its fused result is validated using EMB system test bench to confirm how the fused result influences on the motor of the brake.

We present a platform for technology Enhanced Learning, allowing the learner to follow a path of game applications towards a learning objective. The path is determined by the learner, by selecting each time the next game of her choosing. The games are defined by teachers and experts, or even imported as web resources: they are associated to the system through suitable metadata, that express their pedagogical meaning. The system's interface allows the student to navigate the repository of learning games (organized as a graph) and see among them those that she can select to undertake, and those that are not yet affordable. Whether a game is affordable, at a given moment, is determined by comparing the Student Model with the game's specification. In conclusion, the path of learning activities followed by the learner is built interactively, by the learner, according to learner's choice and the system's pedagogical guidance. The system has not yet been experimented in a real class: we report about its design and implementation, and provide the reader with some simulated applications showing the system's behaviour.
