In industrial automation, monitoring information is critical and expected to be received with ultra-high reliability and low latency. On the other hand, different industrial monitoring applications usually have diverse requirements on the transmission quality. This paper investigates the deadline aware reliable transmission in mission-critical machine-type communications (MTCs) to satisfy the service requirements for different monitoring applications in terms of reliability and latency. Specifically, a hybrid non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) framework is firstly introduced for improving spectrum utilization as well as meeting the diverse requirements of different applications. Under this framework, a NOMA-assisted small-packet transmission scheme is proposed for mission-critical MTCs, and the related performance is then mathematically formulated as a constrained optimization problem with the objective to maximize the network-wide revenue. The formulated non-trivial problem is effectively solved by considering the diverse requirements of different applications. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate both the impact of small packet size and the superiority of NOMA technique on the network-wide revenue improvement.

In the future Smart Grid numerous stakeholders within the electric power grid need to exchange information in order to realize applications like customer energy feedback, billing and invoicing of variable tariffs, demand side management and efficient charging of electric vehicles. Using a Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) based on Web services promises a convenient way to provide a data infrastructure capable to realize the required interactions in a flexible way. A main concern in such an architecture is how access to data can be controlled in order to prevent security or privacy violations. Access control depends strongly on authentication and authorization mechanisms. Therefore this paper contributes i) a SOA for the Smart Grid and ii) an access control mechanism that is taken into consideration from the early beginning of the system design. Furthermore, a proof of concept implementation and a scalability analysis are used to investigate the requirements on computational resources in a large scale deployment.

Recently automobile control programs have so many conditional branches and are too gigantic to detect the details of systems. It is critical problem that automobile control program, in particular engine control program, has unclear part of systems. So we need a new method to analyze algorithms mathematically and automatically. In this paper, we propose "Visualization of software" on the perspective to analyze those gigantic codes. Now there is the preceding research, which can create map surface by applying Mixed Logical Dynamics (MLD) Systems to software. We apply this method to Engine control systems, and draw "trajectory" which represents dynamics of engine parameter. In this paper, we mainly discussed a novel design of the micro UAV especially the unconventional cross coupling with four rotors between the aerodynamic design and the design of the flight control system. The vehicle has two motors rotate counter clockwise while the other two rotate clockwise to cancel the gyroscopic effects and aerodynamic torques. Besides vertical taking-off and landing capabilities, the flyer can fly and hover freely inside buildings. The paper presents control design and results of a leading experiment in the distance stabilization of large bodies, emulating optical mirrors, with picometer repeatability. The experiment, called COSI (control Optics Structure Interaction), was funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) in view of future space telescopes needing picoradian precision over time scales >1 s. Distance stabilization is achieved by actively controlling the optical length of Fabry-Perot cavities in the vacuum. The first experiments stabilized three 0.5 m distances between two 7 kg plates with a residual control error better than 3 pm (1σ), in presence of severe environment noise and artificial micrometer distance variations, thus fully demonstrating feasibility of COSI concept and technology.
