control communications co-design enables robust and scalable wireless closed-loop control system design. We study the metric "control-communications availability" that allows consecutive errors until the control application is deemed dysfunctional. Multi-connectivity helps increasing the network availability, but there is a lack of dynamic and resource efficient link management. Thus, we propose the "state-aware resource allocation" scheme, whereby parallel links can be assigned adaptively to a given connection, depending on the number of previously, consecutively lost packets. We develop a Markov chain that captures the novel resource allocation approach suited for closed-loop wireless controlapplications. Our approach outperforms static dual connectivity by two orders of magnitude in terms of control-communications availability while reducing the amount of required resources to approximately half.

This paper presents an embedded SRAM design for page buffer applications in flash memories. The page buffer was implemented with a newly proposed self-adaptive timing control circuit, an area-saving sense-latch circuit and 6T SRAM cell unit. A 2Kb SRAM macro with area of 135 mu m x180 mu m has been implemented and applied in a 128Mb NOR flash memory with SMIC 65nm flash memory technology. Both simulation and chip test results show that SRAM page buffer is benefitial for high density flash memory design.

The authors discuss the design and analysis of a programming environment tool that produces information that can aid the programmer in understanding the static control structure of programs. The tool is based on three rigorously defined software measures that quantify (i) a generalized notion of nesting depth, (ii) predication of iteration, and (iii) degree of structuredness. The three measures are components of a vector which is associated with each basic block in a program. Thus the vector quantifies the 'control flow context' of a particular basic block. The feasibility of the proposed tool is demonstrated. Even a straightforward implementation of the design yields reasonable computational complexity.

Spectra Based Fault Localization (SBFL) is a technique to improve the efficiency of software fault localization. The performance of SBFL largely depends on the input information provided by an executed test suite. Due to the randomness existing in the testing process, the output of SBFL may not be stable. In practice, testers do not have the chance to run the whole testing process many times. They are not sure whether the actually obtained SBFL output has a large deviation from the ideal output (i.e. the SBFL output obtained under the assumption that the amount of testing resources is unlimited). Thus, concerning the application of SBFL in real cases, such instability of its performance (SBFL instability for short) is a challenge. In this paper, the SBFL instability is discussed and its characteristics are further explored. Specifically, we define SBFL instability as a stochastic quantity and introduce the measure of StabilityLevel to quantify it. Then, based on the definition and measurement, we conduct experimental studies to demonstrate that SBFL instability is indeed a prevalent phenomenon and also a serious problem. Besides, two factors which influence the intensity of SBFL instability, i.e. the test suite size and risk evaluation formula, are observed and analyzed.

Modern manufacturing technology combined with novel concepts in semiconductor design have led to the realization of 2-in to 6-in high-voltage phase-control thyristors which have an important impact on the design and economics of industrial high power electronic equipment. The advantage of using the concept of free-floating silicon (i. e. , the Si chip is not alloyed but is directly contacted electrically and thermally by pressure alone) for small-area thyristors is described. The improvements of the dynamic and static parameters allow applications up to 300 Hz at V//D//R//M equals 5500 V. controlled electron irradiation and a novel beveling technique at the rim of the devices are the important features of this advanced thyristor technology. Future developments and protection schemes are considered.
