In this paper, we propose a Network on Chip router architecture with increased reliability, energy efficiency and with reduced area overhead. The proposed router architecture model adjusts dynamically to the error control strengths of the layers of NoC. In this paper, we target to optimize the combined operations of arbiter and multiplexer by using a Merged Arbiter Multiplexer (MARX) along with a dual layer cooperative error control protocol. By doing so, the number of pipe line stages, area and power consumed is reduced. We use XY Routing algorithm to send data from one router to the other when these routers are placed in network architecture. The proposed model outperforms the dual layer error control model without MARX unit. The router architecture with MARX unit has 22.7% less area and 2.4% less energy consumption than router architecture without MARX unit but has moderate increase in the delay.

This paper proposes a circuit configuration for the realization of a four-terminal floating nullor (FTFN) with electronically tunable current gain. It mainly consists of an op amp in input together with two complementary current mirrors with controlled gain and two standard improved Wilson current mirrors. The validity of the performance of the scheme is verified through PSPICE simulation results. Some example applications in the design of the proposed tunable FTFN as a tunable active element show that the circuit properties can be varied by electronic means are also included.

A current source type static condenser (Statcon) employing ordinary thyristors for controlling the reactive power of the power system is studied, and a new double firing phase control method is proposed, which makes it possible to control the active and the reactive power directly and independently without any sacrifice of the harmonic characteristics, so that the maximum speed of response is achieved. The 12-pulse configuration is considered for reducing the harmonics further. The main advantage of the thyristor controlled Statcon is that the high power technology of the power circuit configuration has been established through the experiences of the high voltage dc (HVDC) transmission systems, so that the thyristor controlled Statcon with the proposed double firing phase control method is expected suitable for very high power applications in which gate turn-off (GTO) Statcons may not be evaluated economical.

A battery discharge test system designed for Ultralife Batteries' Quality control department used intelligent VXI instrumentation to make the system cost effective, flexible, and easy for operators to use. Four VXI mainframes, each running a paced measurement and storage program internally, are connected to a PC using the ieee 488 interface (HP-IB). The PC plays a supervisory and display role in this system. It periodically gathers the instruments' accumulated data, organizes it into a data base, and displays graphs and status tables for test operators to view the test progress. However, the actual measurement, control, timing, and data storage functions take place entirely within the individual VXI mainframes through the use of internal HP Instrument BASIC programs.

Positioning method based on Receive Signal Strength(RSS) is one of the outdoor positioning methods that have a wide range of applications in wireless communication networks. Thus, the main purpose of this paper is to investigate RSS fingerprint-based positioning in cellular wireless networks. In this work, we propose a hybrid algorithm that integrates KNearest Neighbor(KNN) location-based fingerprint approach with fingerprint location estimation based on segmentation approach to improve the positioning accuracy. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by data that are collected in a dense urban environment. The experimental tests discussed in this paper show that the proposed segmentation-based fingerprinting method provides satisfactory results of localization in an urban environment.

Bigger and faster machines with higher requirements on power demand, control accuracy, system uptime, and lower life cycle costs have placed increasing demands on machine drives and has highlighted the need to simplify those drives. Development of practical permanent magnet synchronous AC electric motor technology permits lower speed and higher torque output as compared to a conventional AC induction motor. This technology permits reduction in the number of mechanical drive components required in many machine applications. In most cases, this technology permits elimination of a gearbox and reduces the mechanical drive to the coupling between the AC drive motor and machine section. The savings in the required machine-side footprint can be significant. Conventional induction motor speeds are normally about 900 to 1,800 RPM, requiring a gear reducer to match motor speed rating and section speed requirement. The corresponding gearless speeds are typically from 300 to 600 RPM. AC permanent magnet motors have proven high performance and flexibility at very wide speed ranges, making the direct drive concept feasible for most applications. In the direct drive motor, permanent magnets in "V"-shaped rotor slots replace the squirrel cage conductors of a conventional induction motor. In this new design rotor losses are extremely low, enabling higher stator current loading and a reduced size motor frame. The elimination of slip, due to the synchronous design, improves both motor efficiency and dynamic control performance of the entire drive.

The use of blockchain technology has been proposed to provide auditable access control for individual resources. However, when all resources are owned by a single organization, such expensive solutions may not be needed. In this work we focus on distributed applications such as business processes and distributed workflows. These applications are often composed of multiple resources/services that are subject to the security and access control policies of different organizational domains. Here, blockchains can provide an attractive decentralized solution to provide auditability. However, the underlying access control policies may be overlapping in terms of the component conditions/rules, and simply using existing solutions would result in repeated evaluation of user's authorization separately for each resource, leading to significant overhead in terms of cost and computation time over the blockchain. To address this challenge, we propose an approach that formulates a constraint optimization problem to generate an optimal composite access control policy. This policy is in compliance with all the local access control policies and minimizes the policy evaluation cost over the blockchain. The developed smart contract(s) can then be deployed to the blockchain, and used for access control enforcement. We also discuss how the access control enforcement can be audited using a game-theoretic approach to minimize cost. We have implemented the initial prototype of our approach using Ethereum as the underlying blockchain and experimentally validated the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach.
