The ieee802.11p standard describes a protocol for car-to-X and mainly for car-to-car-communication. It has found its place in hardware and firmware implementations and is currently tested in various field tests. In the research project Ko-TAG, which is part of the research initiative Ko-FAS, cooperative sensor technology is developed for the support of highly autonomous driving. A secondary radar principle based on communication signals enables localization of objects with simultaneous data transmission. It mainly concentrates on the detection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users (VRU), but also supports pre crash safety applications. Thus it is mainly targeted for the support of traffic safety applications in intra-urban scenarios. This contribution describes the Ko-TAG part of the overall initiative, which develops a subsystem to improve the real-time characteristics of ieee802.11p needed for precise time of flight real-time localization. In doing this, it still fits into the regulatory schemes. It discusses the approach for definition and verification of the protocol design, while maintaining the close coexistence with existing ieee802.11p subsystems. System simulations were performed and hardware was implemented. Test results are shown in the last part of the paper.

With the rapid development of China high-speed railway, the low frequency oscillation (LFO) of electrical quantities appears more often recently and leads to some severe problems of train operation. To improve the traction line-side converter control and suppress the phenomenon economically and effectively, a model-based predictive direct power control (MPDPC) approach is proposed in this paper. The approach adopts a discrete-time model of traction line-side converter in d-q reference frame to predict the future values of the input active and reactive power. The optimal switching state is selected by minimizing a cost function of power to evaluate the power errors at the next sampling time. Through the theoretical analysis and simulations, the performance of MPDPC is compared with traditional transient direct current control (TDCC) that is widely adopted in China Railway High-Speed 3 electric-multiple-unit. The real-time online simulations based on Real-Time Laboratory (RT-LAB) are also realized to further validate the results. Moreover, two vehicle-grid cascade simulation systems are constructed, and theLFOsuppressing capability of MPDPC and TDCC is compared. Finally, the steady-state characteristic, dynamic characteristic, and LFO suppressing capability of MPDPC are demonstrated through the analysis of key performance indexes.

This paper presents the use of virtual prototyping and processor in the loop (PEL) technology for the design and synthesis of digital control systems for power electronics applications. Specifically, the proposed method simulates the converter power stage using Virtual Test Bed (VTB) and controls it using the actual converter digital controller-a hybrid DSP/FPGA control system-interfaced through the PCI bus of the host computer. The paper presents the VTB PIL model developed as interface, the PEL simulation strategy, and experimental PIL simulations results with a three-phase power converter modeled in VTB. From these results the great flexibility attained by the proposed design methodology is ascertained.
Traditional trust models are based on reputation which is only a numerical value. Therefore, it is not fit for finegrained access control which is needed in many online applications. Towards this problem, a novel trus...

In the paper, we consider the features of the new revolutionary transportation technology (the Hyperloop technology) proposed in the USA and associated with the use of ultra-high-speed vacuum trains moving inside tubes with a reduced internal air pressure. In doing so, we focus on Hyperloop cargo systems for transporting standard 20-foot containers. Now Russia has plans to build such a transport system in the Far East. In the paper, we examine the technical parameters of the tube and the capsule for the Hyperloop cargo systems and give some estimates for such technical and economic indicators as the cost of construction and the carrying capacity of the road. We discuss the question of what the Hyperloop technology can offer to solve serious transport problems of the modern world.

Energy Management Systems involve monitoring of loads, control, and providing recommendations to reduce demand or energy costs. Energy Disaggregation works on monitoring loads nonintrusively, by having a single-smart meter at the entry point to perform the task with machine learning techniques. Training of the machine learning model is an important step and may require historical submetered data of the appliances. In this article, an energy demand model is used to generate the training data and alleviate the need for historical data of the appliance. The model is optimized for the Indian scenario based on the representation of appliances and active occupancy. The other important contribution of this work is the use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices to feed observable states to the disaggregation model to improve efficiency. A selectively enabled factorial hidden Markov model is utilized in which states of IoT control relays are presented to the model. The platform developed, enables both monitoring and control of appliances and provides insight into the overall user energy consumption and its breakdown at the appliance level.
