In this paper, a discrete-time adaptive dynamic surface quantization control method has been proposed for a class of multi-machine power systems with Static Var Compensator (SVC). The strategy combines RBF neural network and discrete low-pass filter to solve the differential explosion problem in backstepping and simplify the control law. Chatter is also reduced by a modified hysteresis quantizer, and digital control is achieved. Ultimate uniformly bounded properties of closed-loop systems are proved by designing Lyapunov functions and the simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the method.

Aiming at the problem of Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) trajectory tracking control in three-dimension (3D) underwater environment, a trajectory tracking control method based on Gaussian Process Model Predictive control (GP-MPC) method is proposed. By integrating the theory and methods of Gaussian Process (GP) with the framework of model predictive control to achieve modelling predictions of system uncertainty. Firstly, the mathematical model of UUV under five degrees of freedom is established and linearly discretized;Then, the model predictive controller is designed to achieve the tracking control of the desired trajectory and predict the unmodelled part of the UUV by using GP;Finally, the three-dimensional trajectory tracking simulation experiments are conducted to validate that the method has a better controlling effect compared with the traditional MPC method during the tracking process with uncertain model parameters.

Sensor fault detection and reconstruction are essential for efficient performances of systems and for increased reliability in safety-critical processes. A novel fault estimation scheme is proposed for uncertain systems in conjunction with sliding mode observer used for its state estimation. A system is defined using the observer outputs and known inputs to formulate the sensor fault as its unmeasured state. For this system, three observers are designed to estimate the sensor fault;a reduced-order linear observer, a robust sliding mode observer, and a novel norm estimator. The norm observer is an algorithm to estimate the norm bound of the fault. These three observers are validated through simulation exercises.
