Recent advances in AI models and their integration in cloud service platforms like Microsoft Azure accelerate the options to develop individual AI solutions. Despite expanding technical possibilities, organizations still fail to successfully execute AI projects and sustainably integrate the solutions. Hence, it remains questionable whether existing project management frameworks cover the holistic complexity of individual AI projects and enable decision-makers to navigate the manifold challenges associated with AI projects. The present study aims to fill this research gap through a qualitative research approach. A structured literature review and 12 expert interviews examined by thematic analysis provide 54 AI project management challenges along 16 requirement clusters. These requirements are applied to evaluate twelve established AI-related project management frameworks. Seven areas for improvement were identified, relating to AI ethics, regulation, culture, evaluation, sourcing, impact, and modularity guidelines. Thus, this work serves as a fundament for designing novel AI project management artifacts. © 2025 ieee Computer Society. All rights reserved.

Models for assessing the cognitive readiness of managerial teams in the implementation of infrastructure programs based on the analysis of competencies in the implementation of innovative projects in programs are considered. Competence systems in the implementation of innovative projects and programs based on SMARTification are the driver of success. The principles of forming a system SMART of competencies of infrastructure projects and programs consist of delimitation and independence of the components of an effective project management model, completeness, realism, differentiation within the appropriate level of detail and measurability of management teams. Global development processes and their trends taking place in various fields of knowledge with a significant acceleration effect of information and communication technologies and project management competencies, programs and project portfolios. The purpose of the article is to investigate the mechanisms for assessing of readiness of project managers based on their development competencies in creating modern infrastructure projects with SMART tools and technology. © 2022 ieee.

In recent years, the emergence of the novel COVID-19 has presented a significant challenge as a highly contagious and devastating viral disease. It has become a public health emergency, placing immense strain on healthcare systems. Monitoring vital signs and observing symptoms are essential for identifying and treating clinical deterioration. Proactive remote monitoring of patients in outpatient settings, using telemedicine solutions, allows for timely detection and intervention. However, healthcare providers remain in charge of managing the entire monitoring process, leading to an increased workload. To address this issue and ensure personalized and timely care for patients, this paper suggests an expert system that recommends and adjusts home monitoring plans based on the patient's initial medical history and disease progression. This solution, in combination with a telemonitoring system, facilitates the identification of optimal monitoring plans for patients experiencing rapid deterioration, enabling early intervention, and averting unfavorable outcomes. © 2023 ieee.

The paper discusses selected aspects of the 'innovation transfer' of knowledge and products, which arose during the solution of European research 'collaborative' projects in an academic environment. The knowledge gained linking to similar national projects also solved outside the academic environment. When investigating the identified problems, the knowledge gained during the solution of the project 'Extensions to support the effective exploitation of outputs from H2020 projects solved at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE)' is also used. The project initiated in 2018 by a targeted national call supported by the European Regional Development Fund, is managing by the University Science Park TECHNICOM at TUKE. Following European development strategies, the results and solutions of project activities are briefly presenting and examined in a broader context through their contribution to the support of the university system of innovative cooperation with practice and business development. From this point of view, authors discussed other aspects related to usability/applicability and support for 'innovative transfer' of products generated, both in European framework research projects, and in other similar research projects. In conclusion, there are thematic proposals for sustainable and effective research and innovation cooperation with practice in the dimensions of European and national research programs and their projects. © 2022 ieee.

Tropical forests represent the home of many species on the planet for flora and fauna, retaining billions of tons of carbon footprint, promoting clouds and rain formation, implying a crucial role in the global ecosystem, besides representing the home to countless indigenous peoples. Unfortunately, millions of hectares of tropical forests are lost every year due to deforestation or degradation. To mitigate that fact, monitoring and deforestation detection programs are in use, in addition to public policies for the prevention and punishment of criminals. These monitoring/detection programs generally use remote sensing images, image processing techniques, machine learning methods, and expert photointerpretation to analyze, identify and quantify possible changes in forest cover. Several projects have proposed different computational approaches, tools, and models to efficiently identify recent deforestation areas, improving deforestation monitoring programs in tropical forests. In this sense, this paper proposes the use of pattern classifiers based on neuroevolution technique (NEAT) in tropical forest deforestation detection tasks. Furthermore, a novel framework called e-NEAT has been created and achieved classification results above 90% for balanced accuracy measure in the target application using an extremely reduced and limited training set for learning the classification models. These results represent a relative gain of 6.2% over the best baseline ensemble method compared in this paper.

This paper describes an expert system, which allows a tutor to lead quality testing of knowledge and practical skills of microcontroller systems designers in the shortest time. Such an expert system allows the tutor to give students tasks of a test according to their complexity. If a student can't fulfill a task, then it is not necessary to give him a more complex task which has elements of the previous task that students did not fulfill. At first, students receive theoretical knowledge of base principles of microcontroller systems designing. Students can receive this knowledge from the university WEB-site. There are lots of multimedia courses. These courses explain how students can use equipment and software. Further, students learn the C-programming for AVR microcontrollers. The next stage of the training is working out of a project. A project has a system circuit and C-programs which support the microcontrollers' functioning. Further a project is simulated with the help of the ISIS subsystem of the Proteus simulator. Such simulation helps students to see the quality of a project. They can look through several variants of a project and select the optimal variant of a circuit and a C program. The next stage of designing projects is their implementation with the help of real equipment. This paper proposes a technique of receiving practical experience in microcontroller systems designing. This technique is based on the microcontroller board Arduino Uno. The expert system has tasks of different complexity. This technique allows students to do projects of a different level of complexity. It will give students more deep experience in the designing of microcontroller systems. © 2020 ieee.

This paper discusses the roles and opportunities that ICTs play in the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is claimed that the efficient use of digital technologies is possible if the IT project management of sustainability methodology is used. The links and gaps between ISO standards and the SDGs presented. The correlation of ISO standards for project, program, and portfolio management with 17 SDGs investigated. Correlations with SDGs 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 16 identified. The contextual analysis of the opportunities for the use of ICTs for the achievement of the SDGs revealed two levels of responsibility in terms of sustainability. Firstly, ICT acts as an accelerator for managing projects and programs in different areas (environmental, economic, and social). Secondly, the high intensity of development of the ICT field itself requires the initiation and implementation of the SDGs in the ICT field itself. It is noted that the development of a methodology for sustainable management of ICT projects can be built by integrating project management standards and establishing a correlation with all SDGs. The integration of sustainability in ICT project management can start with the acceleration of project management processes, followed by improving sustainability competencies.

A core work of the science and technology management system is to support the integration and utilization of massive data from distributed systems using data warehouse technology. In this paper, we focus on this work. First, we introduce the background of science and technology management by illustrating the scheme of project management business flows. Then, to define the science and technology data structure, we propose a customized star model in which we add various dimensional tables to connect the different attributes with science and technology projects. Particularly, a 4-D data cube is introduced to satisfy complicated query conditions in science and technology domain. Furthermore, to integrate data from distributed systems, we propose an architecture of data warehouse of science and technology projects (STPDW) - a five layered system that gathers raw data from the science and technology management systems, and processes the data in a standard workflow by using Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools with predefined rules. Finally, a prototype system has also been designed to achieve the functionality of the STPDW. © 2021 ieee.

— Models, methods and mechanisms of project-oriented management of universities are the subject of the research. Formation of the balanced scorecard in project-oriented management of universities is the purpose of the work. There are the following research objectives: analysis of strategic development projects of higher education institutions, defining the mission of universities in carrying out the educational and scientific projects, forming a model of challenges, opportunities, threats and prospects in implementing the university mission, developing a conceptual model of project-oriented management of universities based on the implementation of the Key Performance Indicators system. The following methods such as project management methods, project portfolios and programs, theory of systems, tools of the optimization modeling are used. There were obtained the following results. Considering the dynamics of development universities that have introduced a project-oriented management system, it was found that the use of the project approach improves the efficiency of universities. It was found that the basis of this approach is the development Strategy of the university. The mission of the Odesa National Maritime University is defined, which consists in training specialists competitive on the world labor market in a certain field by involving leading research and teaching workers, using the results obtained in research projects and implementing innovative teaching methods. It was found that in the current situation in higher education, the task of implementing a project-oriented model of higher education management is solved by introducing a balanced scorecard, i.e. Key Performance Indicators. The model of formation the higher education institution project portfolio is developed taking into account available resources on the basis of introduction of the balanced scorecard.
