Man is always curious about the patterns and beauty of platonic solids. Throughout history it has shaped them into artistic works, even today it uses them in technological models;likewise nature has adopted its geometric patterns. Through the development of digital technologies, geometric designs are made using the architecture of Platonic solids. The object of study and construction in this work is the Dodecahedron using Wolfram Mathematica 11.2 Software. For this, an efficient logical language will be used, framed within the discipline of geometry, where relationships and hierarchies are established in reasoning through the programming language, allowing its architecture to be associated with creations of man, objects and organisms of nature.

ieee 802.11 wireless networking is now one of the most common methods of connectivity, and with it, a new range of security and reliability issues. While a Software Defined networking (SDN) approach has made significant inroads with these problems in wired networks, the impact has not been as notable in the wireless networking space. One reason for this is that the existing SDN approach, predominately openFlow, is restricted to the network interface level as their match-action pipelines are only capable of processing Ethernet frames and cannot, therefore, address the underlying wireless elements. The introduction of the P4 programming language allows developers to create custom data planes which can include definable packet parsers. This functionality enables the construction of data planes capable of parsing ieee 802.11 wireless frames. In this paper, we develop a new P4 compiler extension called WP4 to enable the creation of a P4 data plane accessible by a Linux wireless driver. It allows the processing of previously inaccessible management frames such as beacons, probes and de-authentication. Finally, we provide example scenarios for this novel approach and a performance evaluation of the WP4 implementation.

Preserving the availability and trustworthiness of computer networks continues to be an open challenge. Traditionally, we used expert engineers to manage all aspects of the network. This approach is not viable for large-scale networks. On one hand, we have cloud networks that comprise several hundreds of thousands of network devices that interconnect several million servers. New advances such as programmable network devices further magnify the complexity - we now also have churn in the data plane in addition to the control plane. On the other hand, we have enterprises migrating to the cloud and deploying virtual networks at scale. Managing both kind of networks require solving the same challenges such as intent specification, correct-by-construction translation to configurations, re-mediating drift, and finally ensuring the safety of changes. Solving these challenges requires a multi-pronged approach. NetVerify will create interdisciplinary forum to foster interactions between researchers and practitioners from fields such as networking, security, formal methods, programming languages, and machine learning. The workshop program is designed to stimulate discussions to both advance the science of network verification and influence adoption.

The introduction of Software-Defined networks (SDN) and the evolution towards programmable data planes bring the opportunity to offload several functions to the data plane. In this context, the P4 programming language opens the door to the customization of data planes. It can provide packet processing functionalities that can be applied to improve network security among other areas. This paper presents P4Knocking, a P4-based port knocking implementation that can externally open ports that appear to be closed. The goal of bringing port knocking capabilities to the network is to seamlessly deploy firewall functions in the data plane, reliving hosts from dealing with unintended traffic. Our work presents a total of four implementations that involve data and control planes in different degrees. In this case, P4Knocking can provide a more transparent and efficient way to deploy the port knocking service compared to a host-based port knocking implementation. In fact, it requires no specific purpose externs apart from registers, hence its higher portability and flexibility with local or remote control planes.

The integration of unstable and/or uneven single-phase renewable distributed generation (DG) exacerbates the network imbalance problem. These unbalanced situations lead to financial losses, wasteful asset utilisation, and security haz-ards to network infrastructure. In this paper, a new phase-changing soft open point (PC-SOP) with bifurcation connection is proposed to allow various single-phase connections in three-wire systems. Then for three-phase unbalanced systems, operational strategies based on various cases are outlined. The optimal strategy for reducing power losses and three-phase imbalance can be identified by optimizing the regulation of SOPs and DG curtailment. The relaxation method of symmetrical semidefinite programming (SDP) is then used to adapt the initial non-convex nonlinear model into an SDP model that can be solved effectively by commercial solvers. Case studies are carried out on an ieee 13-node three-phase system to validate the efficacy and efficiency of the presented SOP solutions and their operational strategy,

A Survey on Data Plane Flexibility and Programmability in Software-Defined networking

Software-defined networking (SDN) has attracted the attention of the research community in recent years, as evidenced by a large number of survey and review papers. The architecture of SDN clearly recognizes three planes: application, control, and data planes. The application plane executes network applications, the control plane regulates the rules for the entire network based on the requests generated by network applications, and based on the set rules, the controller configures the switches in the data plane. The role of the switch in the data plane is to simply forward packets based on the instructions given by the controller. By analyzing the SDN-related research papers, it is observed that research, from the very beginning, is insufficiently focused on the data plane. Therefore, this paper gives a comprehensive overview of the data plane survey with a particular emphasis on the problem of programmability and flexibility. The first part of the survey is dedicated to the evaluation of actual data plane architectures through several definitions and aspects of data plane flexibility and programmability. Then, an overview of the SDN-related research was presented with the aim of identifying the key factors influencing the gradual deviation from the original data plane architectures given with ForCES and openFlow specifications. In this paper, we used the term data plane evolution for this deviation. By establishing a correlation between the treated problem and the problem-solving approaches, the limitations of ForCES and openFlow data plane architectures were identified. Based on the identified limitations, a generalization of approaches to addressing the problem of data plane flexibility and programmability has been made. By examining the generalized approaches, open issues have been identified, establishing the grounds for future research directions proposal.

Software quality is critical in the current information age, we need to find effective modeling methods to evaluate the quality of increasingly large software. Complex network is an important tool for modelling software systems from the macro perspective, and it expresses software as a complex network by analyzing the dependencies between software components. In this paper, we propose a new model called weighted class dependency network (WCDN) based on complex network theory to describe the characteristics of object-oriented software systems. WCDN model is based on class granularity, which considers not only the difference of multiple dependencies caused by object-oriented programming languages, but also the disparity of class importance. We apply WCDN to a refactoring algorithm based on three modular metrics, and evaluate the rationality and effectiveness of the network through disturbing-recovering experiments. After the comparative experiments of 12 open-source software systems, the results prove that WCDN can represent the architecture of the object-oriented software system correctly.

360 degrees UHD videos have absorbed great attention in recent years. However, as they are of significant size and usually watched from a close range, they require extremely high bandwidth for a good immersive experience, which poses a great challenge on the current single-source adaptive streaming strategies. Realizing the great potentials of tile-based video streaming and pervasive edge services, we advocate a tile-based multi-source adaptive streaming strategy for 360 degrees UHD videos over edge networks. In order to reap its benefits, we consider a comprehensive model which captures the key components of tile-based multi-source adaptive streaming. Then we formulate a joint bitrate selection and request scheduling problem, aiming at maximizing the system utility (i.e., user QoE minus service overhead) while satisfying the service integrity and latency constraints. To solve the formulated non-linear integer programming problem efficiently, we decouple the control variables and resort to matroid theory to design an optimal master-slave algorithm. In addition, we improve our proposed algorithm with a deep learning-based bitrate selection algorithm, which can achieve a rationalization result in a short running time. Extensive data-driven simulations validate the superior performance of our proposed algorithm.

Ambient Intelligence (AmI) and Internet of Things (IoT) are two terms closely related to the vision of embedding sensing, processing and communication capabilities into everyday objects and physical environments whose interaction can support effectively human activities. In this paper we propose the term AmIoT to refer to AmI applications composed by IoT devices available in an AmI environment to serve a specific goal of its owner/creator. AmIoT is characterized by the human-centric perspective of AmI, the capability for thing-to-thing interactions and the shaping of IoT rich environments by end-users. Leveraging on the microservices architectural style to overcome fundamental application development and deployment challenges, a microservices-based platform is developed to support the runtime operation of AmIoT applications. Furthermore, an editing tool is provided to empower end-users to configure such applications using the trigger-action programming paradigm. AmIoT characteristics have been explored in practice by developing prototype IoT devices to realize an example use case scenario. Experiences from a preliminary usability evaluation of the editing tool are also reported.
