Geothermal energy offers a sustainable and reliable energy source. However, VR engineering methods have seen limited application in this field. This work introduces an Immersive Engineering Toolkit, which leverages an open-source VR engine to address challenges across the geothermal lifecycle, such as drill site planning, subsurface visualization, engineering simulations, and public engagement. By integrating heterogeneous data formats and enabling collaborative environments, the toolkit aims to enhance cost-efficiency, safety, decision-making and stakeholder communication. By unifying scientific, engineering, and societal aspects, the toolkit aims to provide a holistic approach to accelerate the adoption of deep geothermal energy systems.

Analysing and optimizing the networking performance of protocol stacks requires accessible tools capable of presenting precise measurements in intuitive visualizations. Realtime presentation of live data further increases the efficiency in gaining insights, e.g. into cross-stack phenomena and configuration changes of highly configurable networking technologies such as 5G or 6G. In this context, we introduce PerfVis, a tool designed to visualize network transmission timings. By one-way measurements, the insights can be focused on direction-dependent effects of single links or short paths. Case studies involving a 5G campus network demonstrate how PerfVis can identify timing effects on lower layers of the protocol stack and highlight its capability to adapt measurements and visualizations for specific analysis tasks.

Story visualization is the transformation of narrative elements into image sequences. While existing research has primarily focused on visual contextual coherence, the deeper narrative essence of stories often remains overlooked. This limitation hinders the practical application of these approaches, as generated images frequently fail to capture the intended meaning and nuances of the narrative fully. To address these challenges, we propose VisAgent, a training-free multi-agent framework designed to comprehend and visualize pivotal scenes within a given story. By considering story distillation, semantic consistency, and contextual coherence, VisAgent employs an agentic workflow. In this workflow, multiple specialized agents collaborate to: (i) refine layered prompts based on the narrative structure and (ii) seamlessly integrate generated elements, including refined prompts, scene elements, and subject placement, into the final image. The empirically validated effectiveness confirms the framework’s suitability for practical story visualization applications.

In recent years, with the accelerated pace of digitalization, computing power has emerged as a key infrastructure supporting the development of the digital economy and has become a new engine driving economic and social progress. To promote the deep integration of computing power and network resources while providing users with a ubiquitous and consistent computing service experience, the concept of the computing power network has emerged. However, how to meet the requirements of the computing power network for coordinated planning and efficient adaptation of computing and network resources has become a current research focus. Therefore, this paper designs and implements a Service Mesh-based computing power open interconnection system to promote large-scale interconnectivity and network computing integration. The system supports automatic registration, discovery, and updating of computing power services, offering a transparent and efficient invocation mechanism. It features visualization tools for real-time resource monitoring and service interaction.

We present our prototype system, developed via a participatory design process with neurologists, demonstrating how Cross Reality technology can integrate the immersive, stereoscopic visualization and interaction benefits of eXtended Reality tools with traditional desktop medical imaging software. Our system enables clinicians to work simultaneously with both systems, with changes to the data synchronized between them. To address the clinical use-case, we adapted interaction techniques to make cross-sectional analysis more intuitive than on a flat screen. Feedback from the neurologists indicate a Cross Reality system has potential to enhance their current workflows.

Weather analysis data comprises a lot of information to understand atmospheric conditions. The following document provides a 10-year summary of local metric weather data analysis. The main activities focused on discovering different patterns of weather data related to temperature, rainfall, wind velocity, and humidity apart from extreme heat, air quality and effects on health issues due to diseases transmitted by vectors for protection. Several data analysis techniques were put into application on the part of the research team, broadly categorized into summary statistics, time series analyses, and classification algorithms. Results are as follows: A clear trend of increasing average temperature has emerged over the course of the study. Seasonal fluctuations have therefore caused varying levels of precipitation, resulting in rainfall occurring more frequently during some periods. Lastly, unique weather clusters have been identified in the isolated corridors around the regional weather. This information impacts other areas such as agriculture, road construction, and adaptation to climate. Results of microclimate assessment can also be used in public awareness programs and inform at-risk youth in early warning systems for weather-related health risks. The thunderstorm that produces the wind is driven by changed precipitation, air stability, and radiant energy, though winds are important. We then discussed the location and number of wind energy plants to be placed. © 2025 ieee.

Virtual embodiment and virtual exercising are a promising adjunct to treatment for orthopedic patients, who face challenges from physical and psychological barriers during rehabilitation. This randomized controlled trial evaluated the impact of VR on post-surgical knee recovery. Patients (n=47) were assigned to either conventional rehabilitation or conventional plus daily 20-minute VR training, which utilized embodied avatars for movement visualization. The VR group demonstrated a substantial reduction in kinesiophobia scores at 4 weeks post-surgery (p=0.043). No significant differences were observed in quadriceps strength, knee range of motion, and disability scores. These findings support VR's potential for addressing psychological barriers in rehabilitation.

The rapid loss of Arctic Sea ice has cascading impacts across environmental, ecological, and human systems, demonstrating the interconnected nature of global climate processes. Future climate engineering technologies have great potential to slow down the melting of Arctic Sea ice, yet few people are familiar with them. In this contest, we present a solution that utilizes the virtualness of VR experience to create a rapid cause and effect visualization in virtual environment (VE) for the application of the future climate engineering technologies. This educational experience features an engaging polar bear rescue storyline, gameplay mechanics, and two novel collaborative, adaptive zoom world-in-miniature 3D UIs that facilitate large-scale VE wayfinding, navigation, and task fulfillment.

ReVerie AI installation explores the scientific concept of dream reliving. Visitors engage in a ritualistic act of whispering their dreams. Each dream transcription and corresponding visualization are temporarily stored in the memory of the AI system. After that, the ReVerie AI system makes an inference from this memory to generate a shared, evolving A/V experience, where participants fly through interconnected dream objects in a virtual space. At its core, ReVerie challenges the capacity of technology to authentically represent the intangible and private terrain of dreams. By inviting participants to contribute whispered dreams that are algorithmically transformed into 3D dream objects, ReVerie pushes them to confront whether such digitally synthesized representations can capture the true essence of our subconscious—or if they craft new forms of detachment or control over personal narratives instead.

Detailed reconstructions of large indoor environments are needed for many application domains, such as telepresence and as-planned-as-built comparisons for the construction industry. Usually, to obtain the desired accuracy of the reconstruction, a high-end stationary sensor and many hours of post-processing work are needed. Our methodology circumvents this obstacle by creating detailed captures of large indoor environments, including color, in real-time. To accomplish this, we created a dual-sensor setup with a mobile LiDAR and an RGB-D sensor (Azure Kinect), and a dual-layer capture workflow in which a sparse point cloud capture serves as a basis for the second, dense point cloud reconstruction. In the evaluation in which we compared our resulting point cloud captures to the ground truth point cloud created by a high-end stationary LiDAR, our methodology achieved the accuracy below 3 cm.
