The chromatic and achromatic colors were processed by photoreceptor cells with rod and cone cells (L-cone cell, M-cone cell, and S-cone cell) in the retina through the visual pathway. This color processing was also known to cause emotional regulation. This study investigated the interrelationship between visual function and emotional regulation by Low Resolution Brain Electromagnetic Tomography Analysis (LORETA). The results of chromatic color illustrated that LORETA absolute power of red color was higher in the left hemisphere at Brodmann area 38-42 (which was a function in emotion processing) more than yellow color, blue color, and green color, respectively. These results were also correlated with the Brunel Mood Scale questionnaire (BRUMS). In achromatic color, LORETA absolute power of white color was higher in the left hemisphere (at Brodmann area 38-42) than in black color. Furthermore, the white color activated the cortical activity at the temporal and frontal lobes higher than the black color. Moreover, the LORETA source correlation in the primary visual cortex (V1;Brodmann area 17), red and yellow colors highly activated the cortical activity at the frontal and temporal lobes. Low cortical activation can be found in the frontal lobe in blue and green colors. However, the visual cortex was not changed significantly during the presence of achromatic and chromatic colors. These results can be used as a recommendation to design the color room for the activation of both positive and negative emotions.

Typical ocean monitoring methods such as vessel transects, remote sensing, and single depth stationary platforms rarely provide the resolution required to characterize coastal ocean dynamics. Data collection at high temporal frequencies over multiple years, at high vertical and horizontal spatial resolution, is needed to capture changes at biologically relevant scales for aquaculture and other applications. The Centre for Marine Applied Research (CMAR) operates a Coastal Monitoring Program to fill this critical gap in ocean data for the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. This Program maintains a network of nearshore oceanographic stations that measure Water Quality variables (temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity) several times per hour, with continuous time series up to 8 years in length. Coastal Current and Wave data measured by provincial partners are also integrated into the Program, with CMAR providing data processing services. CMAR has developed a suite of R packages to partially automate data processing, quality control, and visualization for all data branches. Clear and consistent Data Management procedures ensure production of high-quality data products. Summary reports with deployment details and data figures designed for 'at-a-glance' assessment are available on the CMAR website, and complete datasets can be downloaded for free from online repositories. These data products have a diverse range of users and help support industry, governance, and research. Data collection is on-going, with efforts to continue building long-term datasets, increase spatial coverage, and monitor additional variables. © 2024 ieee.

Contemporary social coding platforms like GitHub promote collaborative development. Many open-source software repositories hosted in these platforms use machine accounts (bots) to automate and facilitate a wide range of effort-intensive and repetitive activities. Determining if an account corresponds to a bot or a human contributor is important for socio-technical development analytics, for example, to understand how humans collaborate and interact in the presence of bots, to assess the positive and negative impact of using bots, to identify the top project contributors, to identify potential bus factors, and so on. Our project aims to include the trained machine learning (ML) classifier from the BoDeGHa bot detection tool as a plugin to the GrimoireLab software development analytics platform. In this work, we present the procedure to form a pipeline for retrieving contribution and contributor data using Perceval, distinguishing bots from humans using BoDeGHa, and visualising the results using Kibana.

Background: Bugs and bug management consumes a significant amount of time and effort from software development organizations. A reduction in bugs can significantly improve the capacity for new feature development. Aims: We categorize and visualize dimensions of bug reports to identify accruing technical debt. This evidence can serve practitioners and decision makers not only as an argumentative basis for steering improvement efforts, but also as a starting point for root cause analysis, reducing overall bug inflow. Method: We implemented a tool, MultiDimEr, that analyzes and visualizes bug reports. The tool was implemented and evaluated at Ericsson. Results: We present our preliminary findings using the MultiDimEr for bug analysis, where we successfully identified components generating most of the bugs and bug trends within certain components. Conclusions: By analyzing the dimensions provided by MultiDimEr, we show that classifying and visualizing bug reports in different dimensions can stimulate discussions around bug hot spots as well as validating the accuracy of manually entered bug report attributes used in technical debt measurements such as fault slip through.

Due to the accessibility of sizable databases, significant advancements in processing power, and novel approaches to deep learning, excitement in applications of AI-such as those involving imaging-is high and increasing quickly on a global scale. There are numerous possibilities and hurdles for the visualization group aside from the invention of fresh Methodologies per se, such as the creation of a widespread designations, improved methods for sharing image data, and guidelines for vindicating application use across different imaging social media channels and patient groups. By reporting malicious or favorable cases for honest review, intelligence services may aid pharmacists in prioritizing their to-do lists. They are additionally capable of helping extract brain mri data from photos that cannot be seen visually, done more easily the diagnostic as well as prognostlc value of data sets. There have been prophecies that doctors will become obsolete due to AI. This problem has been exaggerated, and doctors are considerably more likely to effectively integrate AI techniques into about their operations. The current shortages of technological know-how and even processing capacity will be handled in time, and internet connectivity options too can help. AI in radiography will be successful if it adds value through improvements in patient results, quicker response times, greater diagnosis confidence, and doctors' satisfaction with their lives at employment. A fresh and innovative collection of approaches for studying picture data are provided by AI. These novel avenues will be investigated by specialists, who will probably take the lead in AI's uses to medicine. © 2023 ieee.

After determining large-scale power data and spatial scenarios, a new analysis model is constructed for 3D visualization scenarios. In this model, big data mining and 3D visualization technology are organically integrated, information fusion and fuzzy tomographic analysis method are adopted to realize efficient mining of power big data, and 3D rendering algorithm based on attribute reduction is used to improve the real-time performance of power 3D scene rendering. The visual feature reconstruction technology is used to realize the visual reconstruction of the 3D scene of power big data in the distribution network. The experiment shows that the data visualization management method can realize the efficient mining of power big data and real-time rendering of 3D model.

In our paper we introduce the IT technical language learning material focusing on the specialized use of the English language in the context of information technology (IT) and computing. This material has been developed in the framework of the 3D virtual library project started in 2013 as part of the Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom) research. The current version of the virtual library has a hypertext or 2D implementation which is freely available in the internet. The advanced 3D presentation of the material uses the 3D features of the MaxWhere Seminar System, arranging and displaying the content of the language learning material in the Fly Podium 3D space. First, we provide a short overview on the virtual library project as an introduction to the IT technical language learning material. In the next section we describe the background and aim of the development of the material, then we present in detail the organization and structure of the 2D and 3D implementation of the learning material. Some inventions and ideas may deserve attention such as the topic map of selected terms, concepts, and texts functioning as a navigational tool, the interactive tests (where the first one is for practice, and the second one is actually a memory game), and the mapping mechanism of the hypertext-based material into the 3D virtual space of the MaxWhere system. © 2023 ieee.

Micro-nano materials and their manufacture have become increasingly commonly used in the field of chip manufacturing as nanotechnology has advanced. In this area, the use of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to build high-performance three-dimensional micro-nano devices has gotten a lot of interest. The micro-nano manipulation robot system built in the scanning electron microscope (SEM) is currently used to assemble carbon nanotube devices. Secondary electron detectors in SEMs are used to record secondary electron scanning pictures as a perceptual tool for automated assembly visual guidance. This paper describes how SEM images are used to provide visual guidance for the assembly of CNTs. SEM image noise sources and components were investigated. A carbon nanotube image tracking system based on template matching with scale invariance and rotation invariance was suggested, based on noise components and denoising. Its accuracy error is not more than 6 pixels and the frame rate reaches 26.39 FPS which meets the real-time requirements.

The occupancy grid map is a critical component of autonomous positioning and navigation in the mobile robotic system, as many other systems' performance depends heavily on it. To guarantee the quality of the occupancy grid maps, researchers previously had to perform tedious manual recognition for a long time. This work focuses on automatic abnormal occupancy grid map recognition using the residual neural network with novel attention mechanism modules. We propose an effective channel and spatial Residual Squeeze-and-Excitation (csRSE) attention module, which contains a residual block for producing hierarchical features, followed by both channel SE (cSE) block and spatial SE (sSE) block for the sufficient information extraction along the channel and spatial pathways. To further summarize the occupancy grid map characteristics and experiments with our csRSE attention modules, we constructed a dataset called occupancy grid map dataset (OGMD) for our experiments. On this OGMD test dataset, we tested a few variants of our proposed structure and compared them with other attention mechanisms. Our experimental results show that the proposed attention network can infer the abnormal map with state-of-the-art (SOTA) accuracy of 96.23% for abnormal occupancy grid map recognition.

Visual computing is an indispensable tool in biology, revolutionizing the way researchers interact with complex biological data. The integration of high-resolution Virtual Reality offers rich visualization experience, crucial for advancing our knowledge in areas such as genomics, proteomics, and cellular biology. Recent VR-based biological visualization often deploys lower-resolution Head Mounted Displays (HMDs), limiting the observation of fine structural detail. Moreover, the simultaneous exploration of multiple datasets in an interactive manner is still a research challenge. This work presents an interactive 3D reconstruction and visualization system for biological data in ultra-high-definition VR. The system supports volume rendering, flexible rendering, and the simultaneous visualization of multiple datasets, all within an 8K VR environment. Intricate cellular and subcellular structures as well as detailed protein folding patterns and subtle variations in tissue density are visualized, critical for accurate medical diagnosis and research. Our system’s performance is evaluated based on loading time, frames per second, and device latency, while handling large biological datasets. A think aloud study provided expert feedback.
