The India VIX, as a measure of market volatility, has significant implications for decision-making processes and necessary risk control measures, among other things; hence, it is essential to predict it accurately. In this paper, an attention-enhanced BI-GRU model for predicting the closing price of India VIX is introduced. Through the application of an additive attention mechanism, dependencies over time are incorporated and crucial features are emphasized in the input. The analysis of the findings demonstrated that the suggested attention-enhanced BI-GRU model outperformed the baseline models for prediction accuracy and dependability. The relevance and usefulness of the model were further affirmed by the visualizations such as the prediction and the loss function graphs. The real-world importance of this research is to the potential application of its findings in risk analysis and the tactical and strategic control of financial flows.

The paper focuses on an immersive teleoperation system that enhances operator's ability to actively perceive the robot's surroundings. A consumer-grade HTC Vive VR system was used to synchronize the operator's hand and head movements with a UR3 robot and a custom-built robotic head with two degrees of freedom (2-DoF). The system's usability, manipulation efficiency, and intuitiveness of control were evaluated in comparison with static head camera positioning across three distinct tasks. This systematic review analyzes the impact of Lean Manufacturing tools on the productivity of companies in the metal-mechanical sector. The PRISMA method was used, which was carried out, resulting in 14 articles. The database used for the review was Scopus and the results showed that Lean has a positive impact on productivity, since there were indicators that showed significant changes such as: a reduction in production time, increase in operational efficiency, reduction of defective parts, and inventory reduction. However, its success depends on factors such as training and adaptation to specific contexts. Some limitations that were found in the review were: the majority of articles were from the continent of Asia and Europe, and all the articles were from research published in the English language. Finally, some suggestions are provided for future reviews that develop the same topic.

Part four of the project VRinMotion explores the integration of stop-motion pixilation in virtual reality environments, using live actors as frame-by-frame subjects. In collaboration with artists Paul Wenninger and Raul Maia, the project employs a unique workflow combining 35 synchronously triggered cameras and 3D Gaussian splatting to capture volumetric animation. This approach preserves the tactile aesthetics of stop motion while enhancing the narrative potential of both mediums. The project investigates new visual and spatial dynamics, such as mixing scales between miniature environments and full-scale human actors, and explores the creative possibilities for storytelling in virtual spaces.

In today’s era, the spread of fake news is similar to the spread of a forest fire. This is due to the fact that nowadays a vast amount of people use social media. So the probability of misinformation spreading is very high through these online social media handles, and some people even re-post and believe that without even checking the facts. In this project, a multimodal dataset called Weibo is used. The approach includes the creation of image and text embeddings, which are then passed through a two-transformer network, after which the decoder outputs are fused and fed into the Llama model for classification. Data augmentation is employed for the generation of diverse training samples, along with the necessary preprocessing. The results yielded by the model proposed in this research highlights a significant refinement with respect to the traditional ones. Hence, this solution can combat the spread of fake news to some extent.

Virtual Reality (VR) presents an immersive platform for storytelling, allowing narratives to unfold in highly engaging, interactive environments. Leveraging AI capabilities and image synthesis offers new possibilities for creating scalable, generative VR content. In this work, we use an LLM-driven VR storytelling platform to explore how AI-generated visuals and narrative elements impact the user experience in VR storytelling. Previously, we presented AIsop, a system to integrate LLM-generated text and images and TTS audio into a storytelling experience, where the narrative unfolds based on user input. In this paper, we present two user studies focusing on how AI-generated visuals influence narrative perception and the overall VR experience. Our findings highlight the positive impact of AI-generated pictorial content on the storytelling experience, highlighting areas for enhancement and further research in interactive narrative design.

In an era where numerous studies claim to achieve almost photorealism with real-time automated environment capture, there is a need for assessments and reproducibility in this domain. This paper presents a transparent and reproducible user study aimed at evaluating the photorealism of real-world images composed with virtual rendered objects, that have been generated using classical environment capturing and rendering techniques. We adopted a two-alternative forced choice methodology to compare pairs of images created by integrating virtual objects into real photographs, following a classic pipeline. A validation group with defined directional light parameters, derived from previous studies, was included to ensure the study’s accuracy. The findings revealed some insights, suggesting that observers experienced difficulties in differentiating between rendered and real objects. This work establishes the groundwork for future studies, aimed at enhancing the visual fidelity and realism of virtual objects in real-world environments.

Display-enabled devices are an integral part of daily life, making power consumption a critical factor for consumers who rely on these gadgets for prolonged, uninterrupted use. Ensuring high visual quality while minimizing energy use is essential for enhancing the consumer experience. In this paper, we propose a method that leverages the concept of Just-Noticeable-Difference (JND) to optimize image luminance, thereby improving visual quality without increasing power consumption. Subjective evaluations confirmed that our approach significantly enhances the quality of dimmed images while maintaining or reducing energy consumption compared to state-of-the-art techniques, offering consumers both better performance and greater energy efficiency.

This research study implements an aspect-based sentimental analysis of online comments and reviews. It considers customers' opinions based on various aspects of a product such as quality, price, and customer service. Extricating the sentiments related to the product's features gives a nuanced perception of the feedback provided by the customer. This enables the company to filter comments based on the most appropriate details, making it simple to access the areas needing enhancement. The proposed solution uses machine learning techniques like Word2Vec, GloVe etc to inquire into text identifying the important aspects in reviews by categorizing them as positive, negative, or neutral. The system then combines the data to provide deep comprehension enabling the business to acknowledge not just the sentiment but also the sentiment related to each feature. The machine learning model SVM is used to analysis the sentiment of the user comment. The feedback linked with the sentiments, it helps the stakeholders to point out trends and the areas to develop. This allows the companies to make datadriven conclusions swiftly and efficiently. This allows the companies to make data-driven conclusions swiftly and efficiently. This aspect-specific feedback enables stakeholders to identify areas that require improvement to adapt to the trends. Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) foster creativity in all its forms. In particular, with the advent of extended reality (XR), we have witnessed an explosion of once unimaginable artistic creations and products, one above all the Metaverse. Dance and the process of creating dance choreography can benefit from the use of these new technologies, but so far little has been done in this regard. This paper provides an overview of the existing literature on the use of AI tools in combination with XR technology within the artistic context of dance. Furthermore, we propose new application scenarios that involve human interactions mediated by XR technologies. In particular, we focus on dance choreography performed by artificial agents driven by Swarm Intelligence mechanisms, and we discuss the perspectives and potential implications for both artificial and human creativity through the integration with XR.
