Only the chairs can edit Network latency prevails as one of the most dominant challenges when deploying interactive Extended Reality (XR) applications on a remote server. Due to human users' different multisensory latency requirements, testing different network latency settings on the overall user experience and Quality of Service (QoS) is crucial. This demo introduces a novel Latency visualization Emulation Scheme designed for testing QoS future interactive XR gaming applications. The scheme simulates varying network latencies corresponding to different types of networks. It visualizes the player's actions in two states: as the player sees it on his screen and how the server sees it after receiving data with delay and uses it in calculations of interactions with other interactive objects of the game. Our demo allows users to visually experience network latency in XR applications without deploying them in cloud infrastructures.

Honey bees play an important role in pollinating major crops and fruits across the world. Unfortunately, in recent years, many honey bee colonies have been lost due to various causes that, at some point, were referred to as the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Some research, including the Appalachian Multi-Purpose Apiary Systems (AppMAIS) have acquired a large amount of data such as audio and video recordings as well as humidity, temperature, weight, and genetic data from honey beehives to determine the health of their bees. The amount of data produced by AppMAIS is a good example of Big Data, which is simply impossible to analyze with traditional computing approaches. Such analysis requires sophisticated visualization and exploratory tools to study honey bee behavior successfully and the environmental factors affecting them. This paper will provide details on the design, implementation, and application of a comprehensive visualization system called BeeVis, which has been developed as part of the AppMAIS project for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing honey bee data for 29 hives in the Western Region of North Carolina. BeeVis has assisted us in gaining significant knowledge about the health of the AppMAIS hives. A significant contribution of BeeVis in our research is the ability to provide options for comparison of our hives at different development stages.

Submissions of original research that use Large Language Models (LLMs) or that study their behavior, suddenly account for a sizable portion of works submitted and accepted to visualization (VIS) conferences and similar venues in human-computer interaction (HCI). In this brief position paper, I argue that reviewers are relatively unprepared to evaluate these submissions effectively. To support this conjecture I reflect on my experience serving on four program committees for VIS and HCI conferences over the past year. I will describe common reviewer critiques that I observed and highlight how these critiques influence the review process. I also raise some concerns about these critiques that could limit applied LLM research to all but the best-resourced labs. While I conclude with suggestions for evaluating research contributions that incorporate LLMs, the ultimate goal of this position paper is to simulate a discussion on the review process and its challenges.
