This paper proposed a concept called "stream statistics" for fault diagnosis. Its idea is to count the obtained signal's distribution in all intervals and transform them to statistical features. This idea differs from the conventional time and frequency domain methods and offers promising advantages, e.g., no need to select parameters and less calculation, over the conventional ones. To cope with the accompanied high dimensional problem, we apply the linear discriminant analysis (LDA) method for projecting statistical features to 2D or 3D space, which is feasible for visualization with the purpose of fault diagnosis. Other dimensionality reduction method, principle component analysis (PCA), is took into comparison in order for demonstrating the advantages of the proposed method. The visualization results of motor bearing data & hard disk drive (HDD) data prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. Moreover, the relationship between visualization results and condition monitoring is established and a modification for LDA based on original criterion function is given.

During the last decade the world has changed in an unprecedented manner. Transport and communication infrastructures have been steadily developed and have had important impacts on various industries'. To increase the business effectiveness, product development should be based on open, interoperable and internationally accepted information and Communications Technology (ICT) standards. However, proprietary solutions still proliferate, being the geometry-based product data representation and exchange one of the most significant areas suffering from interoperability problems. This paper proposes a standard-based framework to support open visualization of geometry vital information to non-expert users. Dynamic model integration and intelligent harmonisation of different digital supports of geometric models is performed at meta-level enabling transparent interaction with simple product geometry, thus providing low-cost interoperability between the parts involved.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Mission Control Systems Section and Mobility and Robotic Systems Section have partnered to developed a high-performance telemetry visualization system, based on our mature, web-based, 3D visualization software technology, that provides mission trajectory designers, operations personnel and reconstruction analysts with a highly accurate, re-usable, multi-mission solution to interactively visualize results from Entry, Descent and Landing (EDL) simulations, real-time mission test beds, live telemetry streams during critical mission events, such as landing, as well as post-event reconstruction analysis. This work builds on previous mission visualization systems that we have deployed for a variety of flight missions and JPL organizations including NASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL), NASA'S Low Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD), NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP), JPL's MoonRise Lunar sample return proposal. JPL's mission design teams, JPL's Office of Naval Research tasks, and JPL's Education and Public Outreach Office.

In this demonstration, we present OpenChirp, an open -source Low-Power Wide Area Networking (LPWAN) infrastructure. OpenChirp is a management framework that provides data context, storage, visualization, and access control over the web. At the physical layer of the system, we present LPRAN, a low-cost high-performance software-defined radio hardware platform that can receive signals up to -30 dB below the noise floor. Using our LPRAN hardware, it is possible to operate on raw I/Q streams in the cloud to perform collaborative tasks across multiple gateways such as jointly decoding weak signals and localization.

With urban development in cities, shared bicycle systems are increasingly used as a way to avoid traffic caused by cars, promoting sustainable mobility and contributing for traffic and pollution reduction in urban areas. The imbalance in the availability of bicycles and docks at the stations of the systems makes it impossible to rent and return bicycles, making it necessary to redistribute them across the network. However, this process has flaws, mainly during rush hours. In this paper, we analyse data provided by the Lisbon City Council regarding their bike sharing system, which has the rebalancing operations' influence. Since the original data was contaminated with the rebalancing operations, an analysis was conducted in an attempt to remove this influence from the data. Following this analysis, a new dataset was created using only the trip data to enable model development for each station and predict the bicycle demand. The plateaus in the created dataset were then analysed to determine if they're due to lack of demand from costumers, or due to stations being full or empty.

in recent time rapid and extraordinary technological advancement is dominated by the social internet of things (SIoT). SIoT connects people together socially and opens doors to people, to share ideas by using this information. Typically, SIoT deals with the massive amount of data and information. This data is used by various online social networks (ONS), i.e. Twitter, Linkedln and Facebook etc. analyzing and mining of useful extracted information from these social networks is not an easy task SIoT has a special interest in numerous research fields, i.e. computer sciences and social sciences. The detection and mining of a community reveal how the structure affects the people and their relationships. In order to facilitate the community discovery, a wide range of tools has been developed over years. Each of them differs from other, in respect of features and benefits. Choosing the right tool is somehow a difficult task In order to overcome this difficulty, our work offers an analysis by dividing them into various categories such as network platform, algorithm complexity, community detection and their execution time. Finally, we discussed various visualization layouts of social networks which are helpful in order to precise the network data.

This study investigated the effect of Google SketchUp on students' learning achievements in spatial visualization. A quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design was used to conduct the research. Eighty-four fifth graders from a public elementary school in Taiwan voluntarily participated in the study. Students from different classes were divided into three instructional modules: Google SketchUp (with full features), Google SketchUp (with limited features), and traditional instruction (hand-held objects). Students in each of the three experimental groups were instructed to manipulate various 3D objects that were created by a class teacher. A criterion test was developed to measure students' understanding about basic concepts of spatial visualization. The educational experiment was completed within three weeks. The results showed that Google SketchUp (with full features) was an effective learning tool to support students in developing spatial visualization skills (F=8.20, p < 0.01).

The 3D city metaphor in software visualization is a well-explored rendering method. Numerous tools use their custom variation to visualize offline-analyzed data. Heat map overlays are one of these variants. They introduce a separate information layer in addition to the software city's own semantics. Results show that their usage facilitates program comprehension. In this paper, we present our heat map approach for the city metaphor visualization based on live trace analysis. In comparison to previous approaches, our implementation uses live dynamic analysis of a software system's runtime behavior. At any time, users can toggle the heat map feature and choose which runtime-dependent metric the heat map should visualize. Our approach continuously and automatically renders both software cities and heat maps. It does not require a manual or semiautomatic generation of heat maps and seamlessly blends into the overall software visualization. We implemented this approach in our web-based tool ExplorViz, such that the heat map overlay is also available in our augmented reality environment. ExplorViz is developed as open source software and is continuously published via Docker images. A live demo of ExplorViz is publicly available.
