This paper introduces a novel individualized reaching training framework that utilizes a model-based evaluation method to enhance stroke survivors' rehabilitation. Addressing the varied needs of activities of daily living (ADL), we developed an objective evaluation method based on a normal reaching model, assessing reaching performance across one's workspace without temporal and spatial bias. Our approach accounts for variability in patient capabilities, ensuring individualized training. By incorporating adaptiveness and randomness, the framework aligns with motor learning principles to optimize recovery and skill retention. Supported by computational modeling based on actual patient data (n=6), we simulated the training framework with various schedules on virtual patients. Our simulations confirm the framework's ability to adapt and introduce randomness in training schedules compared to conventional methods (p < 0.001). Future plans include implementing the framework in a rehabilitation robot for further feasibility tests.

Current UML learning applications and gamification-based alternatives lack guidance for novice modelers regarding possible modeling activities. To overcome this problem, in this demo paper, we present a tool called UML Miner, implemented as a plug-in, that evaluates all UML diagrams realized in the Visual Paradigm environment. UML Miner records all modeling events used in a modeling software project as event logs. By analyzing event logs generated from the use of Visual Paradigm, UML Miner can perform conformance checking to provide useful tips to modelers. These tips are based on the UML model created by highly skilled modelers. In particular, UML Miner can compare different modeling process executions through conformance checking and identify behavioral similarities and differences. The goal of this approach is to improve learner motivation and increase learning outcomes.

Lumped parameter models simplify Li-ion battery management and simulation, advancing battery technology and efficient operation. Although these models may seem straightforward, precisely identifying their key parameters, especially in real-time scenarios, presents a significant challenge. These models are affected by hidden dynamics and fast-changing intricacies, leading to data saturation and difficulties in identification methods. This paper proposes an improved Electrothermal model for Li-ion batteries, applicable under various operating conditions. The proposed techniques and modified recursive least squares algorithm enhance the model parameter identification robustness, eliminating the need for prior assumptions.
