The demand for adaptive learning in education is an important application for computer Vision (CV)-based detection models which extract learners' faces to classify engagement. However, a loss in visual data due to the partial occlusion of learners' faces imposes challenge for practical use-cases. In this paper, we propose an occlusion-aware framework to improve the robustness of non-occlusion-aware models in engagement detection. Firstly, our framework consists of an occlusion-aware data augmentation pipeline that aims to simulate the types of partially occluded faces in-the-wild. Secondly, we investigate the application of masked auto-encoders (MAE) for occlusion recovery. Extensive experiments have been performed to measure the effectiveness of the proposed occlusion-aware framework. Specifically, on the challenging FER-2013 dataset our occlusion-aware data augmentation achieves a 5.24% improvement in accuracy on baseline models and a 1.54% improvement against models with augmentation methods used in the state-of-the-art. Alongside the application of MAE, our proposed framework improves baseline classification accuracy by 13.3% and 4.59% on the FER-2013, and DAiSEE dataset for engagement detection. Our investigation into occlusion-aware engagement detection using the DAiSEE dataset provides important insight into the limitations of occlusion-awareness in engagement detection. © 2025 ieee.

This paper reports a nonplanar passive wireless differential microsensor integrated with intravenous (IV) catheters of small diameters to facilitate in situ real-time monitoring of concentrations of drugs or other target molecules/biomarkers in the bloodstream. The sensor is based on magnetoelastic (ME) transduction with passive wireless interrogation to detect target molecules as mass loading using a functionalized coating. It uses a differential configuration to distinguish the mass loading effect from variations caused by changes in surrounding fluid medium. The sensor was curved to match the catheter form factor with maximized active sensor surface area, packaged in housing with embedded microfluidic features for sample filtration/pretreatment, and integrated on an 18-gauge catheter with 1.3 mm outer diameter for demonstration. Preliminary experimental results validated functions of curved ME sensors with degraded performance due to curving fully restored by an optimized annealing process, demonstrating 5.3 Hz/ng mass sensitivity and proper differential operation with the medium effect eliminated. © 2025 ieee.

This study explores multimodal fusion methods and deep learning architectures for visual question answering (VQA) systems in the healthcare domain. ResNet50, DenseNet, LSTM, and BiLSTM models were evaluated for image feature extraction and text-based question processing, along with their integration into architectures enhanced by attention mechanisms. The ResNet50+DenseNet+LSTM model achieved the highest accuracy of 74.90% on the VQA-RAD dataset. Models such as ResNet50+DenseNet+BiLSTM and ResNet50+DenseNet+BiLSTM+Attention demonstrated strong performance with an accuracy of 72.80%, whereas the ResNet50+DenseNet+LSTM+Attention model showed comparatively lower performance. The results highlight the effectiveness of deep learning-based models, particularly in contextual information extraction and multimodal data fusion. This study underscores the significance of leveraging deep learning architectures in VQA systems to generate accurate and context-aware responses, especially in critical domains like healthcare. © 2025 ieee.

This research article presents the architecture and implementation of an autonomous vehicle which is capable of following a particular lane and also avoiding obstacles. By incorporating different types of sensors, including infrared sensors for line detection and an ultrasonic sensor for distance measurement, the vehicle navigates its movement effectively. This mechanism consists of an Arduino based microcontroller which processes sensor inputs to execute movement commands, such as forward, turn left, and turn right. A servo motor is employed to periodically scan the surroundings for obstacles, allowing the vehicle to adapt its path in real-time. The system integrates motor drivers to control the vehicle's motion, ensuring precise maneuverability. Experimental results demonstrate the vehicle's ability to follow a designated path while efficiently avoiding obstacles, showcasing its potential applications in robotics and automation fields. This project emphasizes the importance of sensor integration and control algorithms in developing autonomous vehicle systems. © 2025 ieee.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is defined as an attack targeting a server, where the server is overwhelmed by an overflow of traffic, leading to a computer system being compromised. To prevent these attacks from happening, thus allowing the computer systems to maintain their normal behavior, a long short-term memory (LSTM) Time-Series model can recognize sequential characteristics in the data in order to predict whether a DDoS attack is occurring. Our approach leverages various aspects of network traffic such as Flow ID, Source IP, Destination IP, and Destination Port, and analyzes the accuracy and reliability using LSTMs to improve DDoS attack prediction accuracy. In this study we analyzed the relative efficiency of Quantum LSTM (QLSTM) over that of Classical LSTM, and found that both Quantum and Classical LSTM models train quickly and within a few epochs the accuracy increases to 0.99 and above. The validation of the models proved that QLSTM achieved better Recall, Accuracy, Precision, and F1 scores as compared to classical LSTM, making it an ideal candidate for DDoS attack predictions. This study proves the potential of applying deep learning techniques to strengthen network security, which has become increasingly important with the rise of complex cybersecurity threats. © 2025 ieee.

Surveillance drones equipped with video transmission capabilities play a crucial role in modern security systems, with the integration of OpenCV for object detection marking a significant advancement. This study evaluates the detecting accuracy by varying the distance between the drone and the target object, addressing gaps in current research through a detailed practical insight. This research explores key aspects of drone-based video surveillance, including object detecting, tracking and real-time following, aiming to enhance understanding and methodology in computer Vision (CV) applications with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The Simulation of a surveillance drone system in Gazebo simulator within the ROS2 framework. The drone is programmed to dynamically follow and track a mobile robot, enabling systematic analysis of the object detection algorithm's performance. The findings contribute to advancing the reliability and effectiveness of drone-based video surveillance systems for future innovations in security and monitoring applications. © 2025 ieee.

The increasing use of Information Technology (IT) in all areas of life, followed by increasing cybersecurity threats on the user side, makes cybersecurity awareness among users an obligation that must be met. Several solutions currently available (guides, discussion forums, workshops) have not been able to provide good results and are lacking in terms of user engagement, adaptability, and optimizing available resources, so technology-based learning is needed, especially AI. This paper introduces the design and prototype of an AI-based learning system, especially with the Naive Retrieval-Augmented Generation (Naive RAG) method with three steps, including Retrieval, Augmented, and Generation. The system combines contextual user questions and answers with internal and domain knowledge systems to explain cybersecurity awareness to users dynamically and personally. The prototype that has been developed is then tested using the Black Box Testing method to evaluate functionality and usability. The test results show that the functionality of the system built has run well with a percentage of success of 100%, so it can be used as a technologybased learning medium for education and learning of user security awareness. © 2025 ieee.

In this paper, we present a cooperative integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) framework in cell-free multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, where multiple access points (APs), under the control of a central processing unit (CPU), collaboratively perform target sensing by using the reflected echo signals. Most of the existing works first estimate the sensing parameters (e.g., range, angle, relative velocity) observed by each AP and then use these estimated parameters for sensing tasks such as localization and velocity estimation. However, this approach may suffer from performance degradation due to errors in the estimated parameters. We propose a deep neural network (DNN)-based scheme to jointly process the echo signals received across the distributed APs and directly estimate the location and velocity of the targets. The proposed scheme bypasses the sensing parameter estimation stage and enhances the sensing performance. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme significantly reduces the localization and velocity estimation error when compared with a state-of-the-art approach. © 2025 ieee.

Ti-based Nonevaporable getters are widely adopted in MEMS devices to maintain a high vacuum during their lifetime. However, the methods currently used to estimate the packaging vacuum level rely most on measuring the quality factors of MEMS resonant devices. There is no real-time and accurate method to characterize the activation process of getters. This work proposes a novel MEMS getter that can achieve on-chip activation by self-heating and real-time activation level monitoring. To verify the feasibility, a sandwich nanostructure of 'Au-Porous Ti-Dense Ti' is designed, and the process of 35% activation level at 300°C for 1 hour is successfully monitored. © 2025 ieee.

Music recommendation systems have evolved from simple playlist curation techniques to sophisticated AI-driven models capable of analyzing human emotions for personalized song suggestions. Emotion-based music recommendation systems integrate advanced machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence techniques to detect users' emotional states through various input modes, including facial expressions, speech tone, text analysis, and physiological signals. These systems aim to enhance user experience by dynamically selecting music that aligns with real-time emotions, thereby improving mood regulation and mental well-being. This review explores the methodologies employed in emotion-based music recommendation systems, including deep learning architectures, facial recognition techniques, and sentiment analysis models. It also discusses the challenges associated with real-time emotion detection, data privacy concerns, cross-cultural differences in music perception, and system adaptability. Furthermore, the paper highlights emerging trends and future research directions, such as multimodal emotion detection, hybrid AI models, reinforcement learning, and ethical AI frameworks. Addressing these challenges and advancements will be crucial in developing more robust, accurate, and user-centric emotion-based music recommendation systems. © 2025 ieee.
