Global Positioning System (GPS) is a revolution in technology that is able to provide digital coordinates and elevation information for any location on the earth through the constellation of 24 satellites. Desktop Geographic Information System (GIS) which utilizes computeraideddesign (CAD) and maps the digital coordinates. GPS data is gained momentum in the market lately. In this research, the design and fabrication of a single board on chip GPS data logger system is presented. Along with GPS core, a TMP100 linear temperature transducer IC serves as the temperature sensor and for the data logger on chip memory as been used. The work involves design of a complete product that offers the following solutions such as precise position which includes latitude, longitude, altitude, and global time from the GPS receiver and accurate temperature from a TMP100 linear temperature transducer IC. AST-230 processor is a heart of the design which compiles executes and process the information received from the on chip GPS receiver. For the software development cycle the programming language Embedded C is used. The proposed model is implemented and fabricated on a real-time circuit and can be used by the end user for the practical applications.

An extension to the method of imprecision that allows the decomposition or aggregation of imprecise design problems with weighted attributes is presented. The method of imprecision uses the preferences of the designer and customer to define fuzzy sets that quantify the imprecision associated with a design attribute. These fuzzy sets, weighted by relative importance, are combined to produce an overall design measure. This paper introduces aggregation operators that can be hierarchically applied to combine weighted design attributes so that the structure of the design problem is appropriately modeled.

computer-aided fixture design (CAFD) system is usually developed at a special CAD platform, which limits the data exchange between different CAD systems. How to transform data in modular fixture (MF) elements library of CAFD system from one CAD system to another is focused on in this paper. The tabular layouts of article characteristics (SML)-based method is adopted in the following ways: firstly, the key data of MF elements are described, the master model made up of geometry model and SML then can be formed, variant design can also be realized based on the master model. Secondly, mapping is realized between SML and XML. All above researches provide an efficient factor for XML-based data cross platforms. Finally, an example is illustrated to provide a powerful proof for CAFD systems' application in diverse CAD systems.

After some considerations about the architecture of computer-aideddesign systems, a description is given of a model of the product design process as it fits in an overall model of the product lifecycle. This paper proposes a new bipartition-codec architecture that may reduce power consumption of pipelined circuits. We treat each output value of a pipelined circuit as one state of a FSM. If the output of a pipelined circuit transit mainly among few states, we could partition the combinational portion of a pipelined circuit into two blocks: one that contains the few states of high activity is small and the other that contains the remainder of low activity is big. Consequently, the state transitions will be confined to the small block in most of the time. Then we replace the small block with a codec circuit, which consists of an encoder and a decoder, to reduce the internal switching activity of the block. The encoder minimizes the number of bit changes during state transitions thus the switching propagates into decoder is reduced considerably. We present experimental results on several MCNC benchmarks and get up to 63.7% power savings by using our new architecture.

Maxillo-facial surgery is a surgical field where surgical planning and navigation tools are commonly used but there is still a visualization gap among planned surgical activities and those in the operating room. We propose an Augmented Reality platform that includes a planning module and a drill guidance system. Some laboratory tests on 3D printed mandibles have been carried out in order to evaluate the system guidance uncertainty with different sets of fiducial points. The obtained mean value of guidance uncertainty has been of 1.37 mm when 2 anatomical points and 3 implanted screws were used and 1.43 mm when 5 anatomical points were used. The use of three fixed screws reduces the system mean guidance uncertainty and surgeons judged the augmented reality technology helpful in this kind of surgical procedures.
