This work aims to create desktop applications to enable virtual access and control to prominent lab equipment like signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc. The developed applications utilize PyQt5 and PyVISA Python libraries, enabling the creation of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and virtual instrument communication. The applications support USB and Ethernet connection between the PC and the instruments. We demonstrate Python-enabled applications to remotely access a Vector Signal Generator, an Oscilloscope and in conjugation, also use an OEM's Spectrum Analyzer PC application to complete a framework for remote signal generation, analysis, and acquisition which can be useful in various research and testing scenarios in the modern hybrid work culture. © 2024 ieee.

To enhance the navigation experience for visually impaired individuals, this work proposes a novel assistive system for visually impaired individuals that leverages object detection, distance estimation, and voice feedback functionalities. The system utilizes a camera to capture real-time surroundings. advanced object detection algorithms, like SSD or YOLO, will be employed to identify objects within the field of view. Subsequently, distance estimation techniques will be implemented to determine the approximate distance between the user and the detected object. Finally, a text-to-speech engine will convert this information into clear audio messages, providing the user with crucial environmental awareness. Voice commands will be integrated to allow users to interact with the system, initiating object detection or requesting specific information about their surroundings. This comprehensive approach aims to empower blind users by enhancing their spatial understanding and fostering independent navigation in everyday environments. © 2024 ieee.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) profoundly impacts children, often extending into adulthood. Timely identification and intervention are critical. This paper explores ADHD assessment by integrating child assessment tools with advanced gesture-based systems. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) compiled a comprehensive manual of diverse assessment tools, meticulously designed to evaluate cognitive, motor, language, and social development. Gesture-based systems, powered by computer vision, depth sensing, and motion tracking, hold promise in refining ADHD assessment. Integration with traditional tools enables real-Time monitoring, capturing motor movements, analyzing social interactions, and assessing emotional responses. This integration enhances ADHD detection precision. This paper explores the fusion of child assessment tools and gesture-based systems, highlighting their potential to revolutionize ADHD assessment and early intervention. Research employs digital resources, including Web of Science, PubMed, Google Scholar, JSTOR, Scopus, and ieee Xplore. The goal is to illuminate gesture recognition technology's transformative role in ADHD assessment, stressing the need for comprehensive validation *** summary, this paper envisions a future where integrated assessment tools and gesture recognition technology enable more accurate, timely interventions for children with neurodevelopmental challenges. © 2024 ieee.

Realistic lip-synchronized animations can be produced by the appropriately timed voice and lip motions of the cartoon character. This process is called as 'lip synchronization'. Building a talking face for languages such as English, Korean, and Portuguese has been subject of numerous studies. Compared to other languages, Sinhala is a low-resource language due to less contribution in these researches. This research study focuses to build a frontal view of a synthetic mouth part with smooth lip movements rather than opening and closing while speaking Sinhala sentences. The most difficult challenge is to match the basic sounds, 'phonemes' with the lip movement called 'visemes'. This study has been used static viseme approach by deriving twenty three (23) Sinhala viseme classes and a deep learning model has been developed to map visemes with Sinhala letters. In system implementation, text input is provided first, after which the system produces audio and the deep learning model generates a collection of visemes based on the given text. The system interface then offers three options for playing the visemes at various speeds, including fast, normal, and slow. The user interface was created in Python, and the deep learning model is integrated into the system. This model will be very helpful to use in cartoon industry to build Sinhala speaking cartoon characters and also be used to train deaf people to read lips. © 2024 ieee.

This article explored the overview of cloud computing, including its architecture, service models, applications, and deployment models. The article also reviewed different research articles and compared various existing approaches. The paper also discusses the current trends and future scope of cloud computing. Recent gain cell (GC) embedded dynamic random access memory (eDRAM) using short channel length amorphous oxide semiconductor (AOS) field-effect transistors (FETs) has demonstrated extremely low leakage current and promising three-dimensional integrating capacity. This makes AOS-GC eDRAM a promising technology for normally-off computing applications. However, the lack of comprehensive models and evaluation approaches prevents the exploration and optimization of its design space. We presented a system-level simulation approach, GCSim, to perform power analysis for low-power scenarios. The results indicate that AOS-GC eDRAM can provide higher density, lower static power, and dynamic energy compared to static random access memory (SRAM) and silicon-based GC (Si-GC) eDRAM. For normally-off computing applications, such as the intermittent wake-up deep neural network (DNN), the quasi-nonvolatile AOS-GC eDRAM can achieve up to 96.7% energy savings compared to SRAM when the wake-up interval exceeds one second. © 2024 ieee.

Diabetes is a major global health issue, requiring new approaches to understanding its complex etiology and improving predictions of effective management and treatment. current methods typically use centralized models, which have privacy concerns and cannot fully capture correlations in multimodal datasets. To address these problems, we introduce a new model using integrated learning and causal theory. Our system uses three datasets: the Pima Indian Diabetes Dataset (PIDD), 130 U.S. Appl. Clinical Diabetes Dataset, and physiological summaries. For analysis in our proposed method, we use various machine learning methods with ensemble method. Here we achieve an accuracy of 93% for PIDD 92% for US 130 clinical datasets and 90% for physically collected datasets. By integrating genetic, proteomic, and metabolomic data, we better understand diabetic mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Our model addresses the limitations of current methods, improves prediction accuracy, and data privacy, and provides insight into the aetiology of diabetes. This approach provides a strong foundation for future study. © 2024 ieee.

Computer security has become a crucial priority due to the advancement in the development of increasingly sophisticated threats. The integration of quantum computing into the field of cybersecurity emerges as a critical new research area. This technological advancement, grounded in the principles of quantum mechanics, threatens to substantially transform how we view technology today and pose significant challenges for information security. In this context, the following Systematic Literature Review will delve deeply into the advances and integration strategies of quantum computing in the field of cybersecurity in order to identify trends and document how progress has been made in the study of this disruptive new technology, which is already highly relevant today. The current state of research is analyzed, proposed strategies are explored, and preparation for a new quantum era in cybersecurity is considered. It is noteworthy the importance of understanding and addressing these challenges to ensure a safe and effective transition to a not-so-distant era that will be dominated by quantum computing relevant to the security topic, highlighting the need for new innovative and collaborative approaches to confront the new and sophisticated threats of the quantum era.

The emergence of the Metaverse is expected to significantly increase the energy demands on cloud computing infrastructure and data centres. Data centres heavily rely heavily on non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels, resulting in high carbon emissions. This paper explores Green Cloud computing (GCC) techniques to enable sustainable, energy-efficient cloud architecture for metaverse platforms. A multifaceted model is proposed, encompassing smart grid deployment, on-site renewable energy integration, energy storage solutions and real-time analytics. Specific strategies include advanced metering infrastructure, microgrids, solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, compressed air, and thermal storage. The model aims to minimise fossil fuel dependence and carbon emissions by transitioning to renewable energy sources. Smart grid optimisation can potentially maximise the utilisation of green power by 10-15%. On-site solar may provide 20-60% of data center energy needs, and wind turbines over 25%. Storage solutions, including batteries, compressed air and thermal, can meet 10-25% of demand fluctuations. Optimising workloads based on renewable availability can reduce non-renewable energy by 20-40%. The model has the potential to enable over 90% renewable energy usage for metaverse data centres, compared to the current 20% levels. The paper provides a framework and analysis of GCC techniques designed with the large-scale, energy-intensive infrastructure requirements of developing metaverse ecosystems in mind. The proposed strategies focus on applying advanced metering infrastructure, microgrids, various on-site generation solutions, and real-time analytics to create a dynamic, optimised and responsive energy supply tailored to the unique demands of metaverse workloads. Outlining a projected sustainability impact provides actionable insights into greening the foundational cloud architecture to power immersive virtual worlds. © 2024 ieee.
