Corrosion of reinforcing bars is a major factor affecting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. The volume of corroded reinforcement expands and the protective layer gradually cracks, which in turn reduces the serviceability of the structure. In this study, a fibre optic intelligent corrosion monitoring device based on magnetic sensing is investigated. A new type of magnetic probe is designed for sensing the corrosion of steel reinforcement, and strain sensing is carried out by utilizing high elasticity diaphragm and fibre optic grating structure. A finite element method is utilized to simulate the sensitivity and linearity of the device under different magnetic forces. The experimental results show that the sensor has good mechanical response effect and the fibre optic diaphragm stress sensing structure has good linearity, which can achieve longterm high-precision non-destructive monitoring of rebar corrosion.

Shadow removal methods often encounter difficulties in completely removing shadows or avoiding excessively bright removal results in shadow areas. To address this challenge, we propose a continuous-intensity shadow synthesis model and an illumination estimator for shadow removal. Our shadow synthesis model generates visually realistic images with continuously varying shadow intensity to augment the current shadow removal dataset. By utilizing the synthesized shadow images, we train a network to accurately estimate the illumination intensity in shadow areas. The estimated illumination intensity is positive for a shadow input image and negative for an over-lit input image, thus our method can illuminate shadow areas or suppress over-lit areas. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms current state-of-the-art shadow removal methods, particularly when handling shadows with a wide range of intensity variations. © 2023 ieee.

This paper delineates a meticulous case study centered on the deployment of digital twin technology in Unity3D to augment operations in offshore environments, with a particular emphasis on Floating Liquefied Natural Gas operations. It encompasses the integration of real-time meteorological data, the application of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller for refined vessel maneuvering, and the incorporation of an advanced voice navigation interface. The primary objective of this research is to substantially elevate the controllability, predictability, and operational efficacy within the realm of offshore asset management. The findings of this study significantly contribute to the enhancement of strategic decision-making frameworks and propel forward-looking innovations in the offshore sector, culminating in heightened operational efficiency and fortified risk management strategies.

The balancing robot's design principle and implementation method are based on the second-order complementary filtering algorithm, which includes establishing the hardware platform, writing the software program, and analyzing the experimental test results. Based on the STM32407 microcontroller chip, a design scheme of a two-wheeled self-balancing robot system is presented. The system scheme includes STM32407 microcontroller circuit design, vehicle attitude sensor BMI088 detection circuit design, motor drive circuit design, and PID controller as the core software design through the DR16 module to communicate with the mobile terminal. In terms of software, the PID control method based on the second-order complementary filtering algorithm is adopted to realize the control and movement of the balanced robot through real-time control of motor output and steering. In terms of experimental testing, the balancing and moving abilities of the balancing robot were tested by placing the balancing robot on a plane and a sloped surface. The experimental results show that the balanced vehicle design based on the second-order complementary filtering algorithm has better balance control and motion control capabilities and can achieve balance and movement on different slope surfaces. © 2023 ieee.

CPMS(cyber-Physical Manufacturing systems) plays a pivotal role in Industry 4.0, driving the automation and intelligence of modern manufacturing. In industrial quality control, however, manual visual inspection persists for detecting surface defects in small products, incurring high labor and time costs detrimental to automation. The cutting tools commonly utilized in machine tools typically have diameters ranging from 8mm to 15mm, making their surface defects even more minute. This paper introduces an MDC (Modeling Differences in Chaos) method enhancing deep learning models for detecting tiny surface defects in CPMS, which improving contrast in regions with defects by leveraging the similarity relationships among cutting tools that share the same type, achieving 86.08% Precision, 76.95% mIoU and 84.04% Recall in experiments, outperforming classical semantic segmentation algorithms.

Recognizing musical instruments from an audio signal is a challenging yet valuable endeavor within the realm of music study. The recognition and classification of musical instruments could prove beneficial in organizing various genres of music and automation in music transcription reading and producing. In this paper, we will investigate the use of a Deep Convolutional Neural Network for automatic instruments recognition of polyphonic music. We enhance the state-of-the-art model, which we establish to be responsive to the instrument's playing style rather than its timbre. Furthermore, we set up experimental validation on small networks to extract timbre features from a spectrogram. We demonstrate an ensemble model based on these experiments, which improves the model accuracy by 20% for both single and multiple instrument recognition. Additionally, we present several models capable of achieving competitive performance with a significantly smaller number of network parameters and neurons.

The safety-critical nature of vehicle steering is one of the main motivations for exploring the space of possible cyber-physical attacks against the steering systems of modern vehicles. This paper investigates the adversarial capabilities for destabilizing the interaction dynamics between human drivers and vehicle haptic shared control (HSC) steering systems. In contrast to the conventional robotics literature, where the main objective is to render the human-automation interaction dynamics stable by ensuring passivity, this paper takes the exact opposite route. In particular, to investigate the damaging capabilities of a successful cyber-physical attack, this paper demonstrates that an attacker who targets the HSC steering system can destabilize the interaction dynamics between the human driver and the vehicle HSC steering system through synthesis of time-varying impedance profiles. Specifically, it is shown that the adversary can utilize a properly designed non-passive and time-varying adversarial impedance target dynamics, which are fed with a linear combination of the human driver and the steering column torques. Using these target dynamics, it is possible for the adversary to generate in real-time a reference angular command for the driver input device and the directional control steering assembly of the vehicle. Furthermore, it is shown that the adversary can make the steering wheel and the vehicle steering column angular positions to follow the reference command generated by the time-varying impedance target dynamics using proper adaptive control strategies. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of such time-varying impedance attacks, which result in a non-passive and inherently unstable interaction between the driver and the HSC steering system.

Influenced by the biochemical reactions and sensor characteristics, the wastewater treatment process (WWTP) has been regarded as a multirate sampling system. To deal with the asynchronous control problem caused by multirate sampling, a multimodel predictive control (MMPC) scheme is proposed to improve the operation performance of WWTPs. First, a multimodel predictive control structure is constructed such that the controlled variables with multirate sampling intervals of WWTPs are able to be tracked synchronously at each sampling instant. Second, the fuzzy neural networks (FNNs) are adopted as the carrier for multimodel to compute the synchronous prediction outputs of all controlled variables at each sampling instant. Moreover, an adaptive cost function is excogitated to obtain the optimal control action in which the adaptive parameter is to minimize the impact of forecast errors on the tracking effect. Ultimately, the experiment results on the benchmark simulation model 1 (BSM1) have verified the efficiency of the proposed MMPC. © 2023 ieee.

Every year technology continues to develop, especially in the field of animal husbandry. As demonstrated by the 3.6% increase in chicken consumption in developing nations, it is predicted that both poultry production and consumption will rise between 2005 until 2030. As a result, the chicken business needs to be able to fulfill customer demand. Poultry, particularly chickens, are sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas inside the coop, all of which can make the chickens sick. As a result, research is being done to create a server system and develop a framework utilizing IoT technologies. By utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, efficiency in monitoring and controlling chickens can increase production. There are many farmers who still use traditional methods, especially small and medium-scale farmers. This system increases the level of measurement accuracy in the chicken coop using five modules and the device used is flexible so that farmers can move it and place it anywhere. using this system, farmers can manage chicken farming more effectively and measurably, which farmers can manage simply by monitoring via a website that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

In campus, traditional lockers have some management and usage issues, even though they satisfy the storage needs of teachers and students. Furthermore, traditional lockers only consider the demand for personal items storage, while the demand for file exchange between teachers and students is increasing. Considering these needs, this paper proposes a campus intelligent locker system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which aims not only to use lockers for traditional storage and access purposes but also for transferring files from one-to-many. This paper provides a detailed description of the system architecture and innovative features and demonstrates that system performance and security can be enhanced by certain methods. In terms of functionality, renters can not only use the locker themselves but also choose to share the locker's usage rights with multiple users, achieving the functionality of one person storing and multiple persons accessing. Users with usage rights can open the locker through a WeChat Mini Program or a retrieval code. The experiments prove the system's usability, high concurrency, and security, making it suitable not only for multiple universities but also for larger markets after further development and research. © 2023 ieee.
